Galaxy Z Fold 3 IT'S ALL HERE So a few days ago we got to see the first official look at the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in Black and today we have official images of the other color variants as well courtesy of 91mobiles. The new images showcase the same design that we saw earlier. Interestingly, the silver variant has a gradient finish, while the green variant has a solid finish. It also showcases the cover display for the first time and it's similar to its predecessor. Onleaks has also showcased a very crisp look at the Z Fold 3 from all angles basically confirming that the phone doesn't have any housing to include the S Pen. Whether or not Samsung is going to include the S Pen inside the box remains to be seen and as well as the charger.
If you ask me, we'll see neither of those inside the box. Interestingly, the Z Fold 3 is going to be slimmer than its predecessor. When folded, it measures 14.5 millimeters in thickness down from 16.8 on the Z Fold 2. And when unfolded, it measures only 6.6mm down from 6.9 on its predecessor. Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 888+ a couple of days ago and the Z Fold 3 is expected to be equipped with this processor.
The chipset is pretty much the same as its non-Plus sibling, the Snapdragon 888. The big difference is clock speed which has been boosted to 3 GHz from 2.84 on the 888 and improved AI Engine, which now performs 20% better. The Z Fold 3 could only land with a Snapdragon processor and there may not be an Exynos variant. Samsung will unveil the handset on August 11th. Apple is on a roll with the iPhone 12.
As many of you know, the iPhone 6 represented a super cycle for iPhone sales, thanks to the larger form factor design and the introduction of 4G on iPhones. Although there's no official data, it's believed that Apple sold over 200 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus so far. And now, the iPhone 12 lineup is experiencing the same super cycle of sales resulting in the iPhone 12 family selling over 100 million units since release. You heard that right! 100 million sales and it happened in just 7 months. That's 2 months earlier than the iPhone 11 family which took 9 months to reach 100 million shipments.
That’s quite an impressive achievement when you consider the impact COVID had on Apple’s release plans. Interestingly, as you can see from the graph that the demand for the iPhone 12 is almost the same as iPhone 6. So if the demand continues like this then the 200 million mark isn't out of the realm. Insiders believe that 5G is the driving force behind this demand especially in China where people are buying more 5G phones. Samsung still is at the top when it comes to overall smartphone sales but since Apple sells mainly high-end phones, the revenue difference between Samsung mobile and Apple is day and night.
Anyway, let me know what do you think about this down in the comments and as always I'll see you tomorrow... Peace out!.
