Galaxy Z Flip Unboxing and First Impressions By Glenn Macgregor

Welcome to another video in this video we're going to be talking about the Samsung Galaxy said flip. Just got it in today. Only just come out today: February the 14th so depending on when you're watching this I'm going to unbox if it's gonna, be affirmed. My first impressions, I've not seen it before not held it before the closest I've got to this is the Samsung Galaxy fold. I didn't actually own it, although I have played about with it, and I've had some hands-on time really nice phone really liked it. It was just always a bit too expensive for my liking, but this one, it's a more reasonable price compared to that one still quite expensive, I think it's probably considering the technology and the work that's gone into it.

Probably not this background about the right price, really, let's unbox it and see what I think of it. Alright. So here we have the box a bit of a cutout. We have obviously got some padding underneath the box. We have got there's it on the front, I'm c4z flip we've got a Samsung Galaxy, Z, flip or Zed flip, whichever part of the world you're from that's.

Basically it right so that further ado, let's get into this thing, tape slide this out and outside the box. We have this one. We've got the flip open this up now. Obviously, as I said, I've never had one of these folding phone before here we go right. The other videos I've seen pack it inside here, put your poke pin for the sim removal tray and pull this out sit.

This will be the case for the phone. All right. We've got a few little leaflets how to transfer your content. Regional block type, warranty, guide, Quick, Start, Guide back to one side here we have the case. Just basically tells you wouldn't need to do to install it right.

Let's have a look at this okay, so you can pause this and read this. If you wish the future changes shape, meet your galaxy zed flip. Let's take that off, and here we have the device inside we've got plenty of care instructions if you've got common sense, it's fairly straightforward. Do not press the screen, obviously don't press it too hard when it's folding make sure it's no keys coins, bits and pieces in there. It's importantly, it's not dust and water resistant, so be careful, especially if you're getting caught in the rain.

That sort of thing doesn't want you to attach any adhesives films stickers to the main screen. So they don't want you to install screen protectors, which is a bit of a shame. The device is strong magnets, so make sure you keep all your credit cards and things that get affected by magnets away from it. Who else is in the box quickly right, you've got your galaxy's head, flip premier service, 24-hour concierge service one year same sunscreen protection. So if you damage it in any way or more to the point, I guess manufacturing defects, so in the box we've got to adaptive fast charging.

This is just you at all, I think to transfer information from one device to another straightforward and here with the charging cable, USB, type-c and AKG earphones at the braided cable. Actually, these are not bad. You know, you've got your type C inline controls, I'll leave them in there. I've got loads of these kicking about sorry right. Let's put all this away, let's have a look at the phone.

Alright, so here we've got the phone nice little weight to it. It's such a pleasure getting off. That's not it already hooks. That's his first fold feels good. It looks perfect.

I've got the black version. Obviously it's got a kind of iridescent to it, my microfiber cloth and give it clean fingerprint magnet. Of course, as you can see, really, really glossy. You know obviously got your cameras here, a little display there and the flesh I, put USB, type-c and speaker down — possum around this side. We've got the fingerprint sensitive power button volume buttons top you got microphone got sim removal, you've got a SIM tray there, and obviously you've got your display, punch or camera.

So our first impressions. Yes, you can see a crease in there. You can feel it a little when you run your finger over it, but I suspect you probably learn to ignore that, and you fold it. It's got a nice resistance on the fold, so obviously you can use it any angle. I like that idea.

Video calls sit it down on the desk great stuff. Alright, let's turn this on. Let's have a look at it, so I'll go off. I'm gonna, get this set up, and I'll come back to you where I got it all set up. I have been playing about with it for a while did take too long to download all the apps and everything so far.

Furthermore, I really I'm actually pleasantly surprised the display on this. Despite what a lot of people have been saying, beautiful, I, absolutely love this display, closing it. It's perfect. You can do this, one-handed flick, it opens it. So it does work like that, although keep a good hold of it, because this is a quite slippery foam fingerprint sensor spots on I mean look at that this has got to be the fastest fingerprint sensor, I've ever done on the Samsung it just you just touch if it's and face unlock yeah, see just there.

You go opens up lovely. Do that unlock excellent right, sir? Yes, that's four cameras. I'll briefly, just have a quick play with them. So far, I've not had time to look at them, but from what I can see cameras are fantastic, they really are I, really love them. I haven't really had the chance to check the selfie camera.

Yet it's still so new we've got go through all the bits and pieces and the toggles all the usual stuff. This is basically usual Samsung. You I, really don't be at loss screen recorder. You've got your NFC dark mode. Everything like that all the usual stuff, it's running on 1st of February security patch.

It just got updated straight out the box. I had an update and a couple of hours later another update pops up for the 1st of February, so hopefully this is going to be on the same lines as my note, 10, plus, where you get regular, updates an actual fact quicker. Then I'll get them on my Google Pixel right. So as far as the videos goes, you get a great display. You can zoom right out.

Obviously it crops the top and bottom a little as you can see, it depends on the top of video you're watching speaker. You've only got one speaker on this. Unfortunately, that gives nice and loud I'm really not too loud. It's not too bad. It's not too bad sounding the crease that you get on the display when you're watching it straight on.

Furthermore, it's completely invisible. Obviously, with this lighting I've got in here, I can, if I can get it just right there you go, you can still see it, but when you're actually watching it straight on yeah you're, not gonna, I can't see it at all. Overall. So far, let's have a look at the screen on the outside the double tap. The screen it brings up your little notifications.

You do have an always-on display, which is nice to have, so you can just sort of I mean what find this around about in the house. I'll just leave that phone open, and you've got your always-on display. It's great, it's great just to pick out open it what works great and when you want to go out fold it up. Stick in your pocket. This is just it's, so it's so portable! That's I! Think that's why I'm trying to look for it's a great thing.

You know you just pick out fold it up! Stick in your pocket and where you go, it's got a bit of a little of weight to it. The hinge on this. It feels solid. It really does. Furthermore, it's got a bit of weight to the actual hinge area and speaking about weight.

Actually, it's got kind of I think it's feeling very 50/50. There's its really well-balanced, so it's not top heavy. It's not bottom heavy. You've got your hand in the middle, and it feels just right. It's very it's at what it's a comfortable phone to use.
