Five Things We Love About The Huawei Mate 40 Pro

So Huawei has always been known for its premium hardware in the consumer tech space and its latest smartphone, the Huawei Mate 40 pro is no different from this gorgeous curvy horizon OLED display to this unique space ring design to the 5 nanometer Karin 9000 soc that powers this beast of the machine. This is a premium smartphone with leading edge components and some of the best tech around I've been using the mate 40 pro for the past month and a half now, and I like it a lot- and these are my five favorite features of the Huawei Mate 40 pro so number one always on display. So the Huawei Mate 40 pro runs emu 11 and one of the newest features of emu 11 this year is the always on display has been revamped to show you more than just your time and information we jump into the always on display section of the phone you'll see that there are severals always on display across multiple different categories. For you to choose from these include the ability to put any image as an always-on display, including your own photos. You can also set artistic always on display. These are made in collaboration with Huawei and artists around the world, so they are really artsy creative and whimsical, and then you also have more classy analog, always on displays too, and on top of that, if you jump into my AOD down at the bottom, it takes you to Huawei's theme store.

You have access to thousands more always on display created by Huawei fans around the world. Now perhaps the coolest feature of the always on display of the mate 40 pro is that it doesn't have to be always on. So you see, Huawei is an infrared camera built into a selfie camera system right here and what it can do is it can intelligently scan for your face, even when the phone screen is off, so you can have it set. So the always on display only lights up when you glance at the screen, and it works like magic. I've had this phone on a table while I'm working on a computer multiple times, and I can see from my peripheral vision.

The phone screen is off, but as soon as I move, my head, or even just my eyes over to the screen, the always on display will light up and show me my relevant information. And when I move my head back to the computer screen, the display turns off it works like magic, and it helps conserve battery life. But, of course, if you want the always on display to just be always on continuously, that's fine too, and Huawei's battery is strong enough to handle that anyway, number two ultra-wide angle, cameras that don't lose quality. So the Huawei Mate 20 pro from two years ago, was one of the first smartphones to have an ultra-wide angle, camera just behind lg, but before apple Samsung, google and other brands did it in the two years. Since the ultra-wide angle, camera has become an essential part of the smartphone camera experience, but while the iPhone 12 and Galaxy Note 20 ultras ultra-wide angle, cameras, look pretty unique.

With that really wide perspective, the reality is, if you zoom into photos, you'll see that details are quite soft and there's a little of distortion at the edges of the photo. This problem becomes more severe in dark scenes, so when you're taking ultra-wide angle photo at night or in a dimly, lit interior setting. This is why Huawei developed the cine lens, which is what Huawei calls this ultra-wide angle camera. It is still an ultra-wide angle sensor, except it uses a larger sensor and more pixels than other brands, so that, when you take an ultra-wide angle, photo with Huawei Mate 40 pro you can pixel peep and the photos remain sharp. It's not just the ultra-wide angle, camera in the back too Huawei's also added an ultra-wide angle: camera aka, cine lens to the front camera system.

So this selfie camera just has a wider field of vision than most other phones on the market, and it makes for a great vlogging device. So you can just hold your phone at an arm sling, you don't even need a selfie stick anymore, and you get so much more into the frame and just like around the back. Fuller quality of the wider selfie camera keeps up with the normal, tighter framing too, so you're not suffering a drop-off in image quality. Just because you decide to go wide so number three awesome, zoom capabilities. So a year and a half ago, Huawei pioneered the mobile zoom experience with Huawei P30 Pro.

That was the very first phone in the world to have that periscope zoom lens, which is a unique technology that sees a camera lens, placed sideways inside the phone, so that allows more room inside the phone for image, information and light to travel. Now the mate 40 pros 12 megapixel periscope camera is able to capture near lossless images at 10 times and even shots up to 20 times, look very clean and more than Instagram ready. Now, of course, you can bump all the way up to 50 times the zoom 2. If you want now granted at 50 times, the images aren't the sharpest but hey just the fact that you can zoom that far it's pretty cool, and it can still be useful in a pinch if you're trying to read a menu or a street sign from quite far away- and you don't want to have to get out of your seat or have to walk 15 feet just to get that photo number four stunning design from the gorgeous horizon display that slopes dramatically on each side without triggering accidental palm touches by the way, because Huawei's palm rejection. Software is very good to this beautiful, unique space ring camera system to this soft matte coating on a glass back that gives it this really nice.

Shimmery finish. This is one of the most beautiful looking smartphones of the year. In my opinion, this is a design, that's symmetrical premium minimalistic, yet visually striking and one-of-a-kind. This is a phone that stands out from the sea of other smartphones on the market. I actually don't want to put a case on this thing because it looks so nice.

I particularly like this glass finish that, depending on how light hits it, it reflects colors in different shades, and it's a very subtle effect. Nothing too overbearing or garish. It's just one of the most beautiful looking smartphones of the year so number five all day battery life, so Huawei Mate, 40 pro has the best battery life of all the smartphones I've tested this year. Now this is despite the fact that the 4 400 million cell in here it's really not that large by 2020 standards. There are a couple of other phones with larger batteries, but between the highly efficient five nanometer Karin 9000 and emu 11, which Huawei has fine-tuned optimized to be power efficient.

This phone is a battery beast. I've been unplugging the phone at around 10 a. m. Every morning and usually I always step out, get a coffee get lunch and I do work outside and then usually in the evening I walk around Hong Kong. I go get dinner.

Sometimes I stay out until past midnight, which would be like 14 hours out and even at the end of a 14-hour day. I would still come home with like 28 30 battery life on Huawei, mate, 48 pro and no other phone on a market in 2020 can match that the Huawei Mate 40 pro is the battery king, as some of you guys are probably aware. If you buy Huawei Mate 48 pro right now, you may have to deal with some compromises in terms of usability. Now this is completely out of Huawei's control. It's mostly related to politics, so I would recommend, if you're interested in buying Huawei Mate 4 pro, do your research online have a think about whether the compromises is something you can accept and deal with.

If you can accept and deal with it like, I have, and you make the purchase, I don't think you'll be disappointed. This is definitely one of the most powerful capable beautiful smartphones of the year. So anyway, that's about it for this video five things we love about the Huawei Mate 40 pro, and thanks to Huawei, for making this video possible be sure to visit xd8developers. com to keep up to date with all the latest news.
