A few years back, e-ink released the EPS electronic paper signage. This is a large screen, e-paper sign. It has ultra-low power, consumption HDMI for immediate display, stand-alone device, slim bezel and can be used even when the power is out aside from HDMI. You actually can connect it via your computer or the cloud via local area network, because e-ink technology is very thin by its inherent nature, and it is very resilient, meaning you can have these displays outdoors, especially for bus schedules and outdoor signage. In fact, there are bus stops in Japan that currently use this device, because e-ink doesn't require power when it's displaying a single image, meaning that if your HDMI cable becomes disconnected or power stops flowing to the screen itself, it will still display the last thing that has been shown on the screen, and it will stay like that forever. The model you see here is a 42 inch, 2880 2880x1260 model running HDMI and USB 2.0. It also has a SD card slot as well, but that's not what we're here to talk about we're actually talking about this.
This is the absolute latest color e-ink panel. This one is not made by SES imago tag. This one is made by e-ink in-house SES. Imago tag is a digital signage company that makes tricolor displays much like this, starting at the one-inch form factor. This one is made by e-ink themselves.
It runs a tricolor system. Now you might see that refreshing is a little unstable. That's just with the inherent nature of how tricolor e-ink works. There's a lot of particles and there's a lot of factors at play. The e-ink technology they are using on this is called e-ink spectra.
It's a type of tricolor display technology, but once the image renders and displays itself, it's absolutely gorgeous in the highest possible resolution you can see on consumer devices today it is super clear crisp, and it doesn't have eye strain and reflectivity is extremely low because you don't need a glass screen, you don't need digitizers, and it just looks fantastic much like the 42-inch large screen when power gets cut, you still see all the colors on the screen. It is not limited to just red, but it is limited to black white and another color. The third color can be a variety of colors, including cyan, yellow, magenta, etc. However, this particular one is in red. This particular one is not for sale yet, but we do suspect it is releasing soon once e-ink, hammers out distribution and a price point pretty reader has the exclusive so keep following goodereater.
