Blue Pixel 4a Unboxing & First Impressions! By dltReviews

Hey, it's Daniel from DLT reviews, and today I'm very excited to be unboxing, Pixel 4a and the reason why I'm so excited is that this looks like an amazing smartphone, and it only costs 350. In comparison to all these thousand dollar phones out there. I think this is an insanely, great value and a great deal, and the only reason I didn't buy it at launch is because it only came in this boring black color, and it didn't have wireless charging. But google rectified one of those issues and gave us this lovely, blue color, so I'm super excited to unbox it and without further ado, let's get into it. So here it's just a standard pixel box. We have the blue color phone right here on the side.

Google side profile of the phone- nothing much here. So let's just pull these tabs off right here, bam and bam all right. Now, let's lift the top of the box and whoa dang this. This color looks so nice. It's like this lovely light, blue baby, blueish color.

It looks perfect I'll. Put that to the side for now see what else is inside the box. Here we have the typical Google documentation, sim injector tool, put this to the side, and we have an USB type-c to type c cable, as well as a nice power. Brick. Now I don't know if you guys know this, but iPhone 12 or any of the iPhone 12s do not come with a power brick anymore, and this dollar smartphone does so keep that in mind, and we have this lovely USB, a to type c adapter.

If I could get this out of the box, let's see bam, so this is for data transfer from your old phone, maybe and yeah that's what's inside the box, there's not much, but at least they give you a power brick. So lets uh put all this box stuff over to the side and take a look at this phone. Now, I'm very excited, as I said before, because normally budget phones don't really look the best don't really perform the best. But google, with the Pixel 3a, gave us an amazing smartphone for very cheap. It only came in at four hundred dollars, but the design on that was kind of iffy, but man.

I think google did a perfect job with this phone first off. The design is amazing. This has an all oh wait. Wait before we move on. Lets uh, let's take the plastic off.

I forgot to do that. So, let's see oh, that was very satisfying anyways, let's get back to the phone, so this is one of the first phones. Google has released with a full screen, display all right, lets uh boot, this phone up to show you guys and, as you can see, normally pixel phones, don't really look the best in the front. It either has a big forehead or it has two big bezels in the front, or it has like a weird bathtub notch. But finally, Google has released a phone with edge to edge display, and I mean it just first impressions.

It looks really nice right now. I've never seen a pixel like this, and it looks good also. I love this color first impressions. This blue looks very nice. It's a nice baby, blue color.

With this striking orange power button, I love the contrast here, and then we have this camera bump right here. It just looks like an amazing phone in this color. It is made out of plastic, but you know uh. Furthermore, it has like a soft touch finish. Furthermore, it doesn't feel like a cheap phone, I'll have to say that, but I don't think it's the same soft touch as the black one.

I haven't tested the black one, but I feel like the black phone might be a little softer to the touch since the nexus 5 back in the day was a soft touch plastic compared to the white one, but still this feels nice in the hand and yeah. It feels like a very solid smartphone, there's not much flex here. It feels very solid. Actually, so that's a good thing out of a plastic smartphone. I actually also do like plastic smartphones a little more because you don't really need to use a case.

You're, not gonna. You're, not gonna, be scared to drop the phone like say this pixel 4xl here, which is made out of glass on the back. So if you accidentally drop it plastic is not going to crack. Unless I don't know you do something weird to it, and this is the Pixel 4 XL. So let's take a look at them side by side.

They do look pretty similar, although you may be able to tell that this has a fingerprint sensor, whereas Pixel 4 XL actually uses a face ID type of thing. So let's put the phone back here and focus on Pixel 4a. Now some disadvantages to this phone or some of the cuts google made were to the processor. So this does have a budget processor, but to be honest with Google's very clean software, I'm pretty sure it'll be really smooth to use. When that video drops. I'm definitely going to be making a review on this. I'm very excited to do a review. Oh, yeah. One thing I forgot to notice or mention is this phone: has a headphone jack where google's high-end um, normal pixel series actually does not have a headphone jack anymore.

So that's another pro to this phone, and another thing I like about this phone is that it is small. It fits in the palm of your hand very nicely. As you can see, it's very one-handable. I just really like smaller form factor phones. The phone also has a decent sized battery.

I believe uh 3 000 something William hours, but based on the reviews, I've seen so far, it has amazing battery life, so I'll be sure to check that out in my review as well, but yeah again, my first impressions of this phone are very good. It feels very nice in the hand, a very solid phone. I love this color, and I'll just set this up and yeah. I don't think, there's much else to say about this phone. The buttons feel very, very click and yeah I'll go ahead and set up this phone and see what's up so right now the setup process hasn't completely finished.

It's still copying over the data, but I did want to mention some other points about this smartphone, so going back to the price, this is 350, and for that you might be thinking of what kind of stuff they cut out and honestly, the processor. What I said before is probably the only weak thing about this phone, but again the software on pixel devices are usually very clean, and I'm pretty sure, they've optimized, this phone very well. Another thing about pixel devices is they have great cameras, so this phone only has one camera, but don't let that fool you. This camera should be an amazing sensor, and I'll definitely test that out in my full review. Some of the features they took out from the standard pixel series is the active edge, which is where you squeeze the phone and Google Assistant comes out.

Although the new pixel 5 doesn't have that feature anymore, so I guess they got rid of it across the line which I'm very sad about. That was a great feature, but it's not here. Well, what can you do about that? Anyways? The other downsides is no wireless charging, as I mentioned before, and no waterproofing, and basically that's it. I think this is a great bargain of a phone, and it is very budget-friendly. I think this is a solid phone so far.

It also has great haptics, although not as great as the pixel 4 or the iPhones, but it is much better than some other android phones out there. The haptic engine is something that people often overlook it's when you're typing, and then you get those little vibrations. If they're very tight and very short, then it feels like a nice experience and the vibration motor on this phone feels very nice so far, and this phone just finished copying over, so we'll see if this gets done soon, but so far my first impressions of this phone are very positive. It looks to be a great phone for 350 and with the holidays coming.
