Nothing joker bit of a catchy tune, I have to admit, but uh before I get carried away with my head bobbing, I'm here to talk about the Samsung Galaxy a11 and why this is the best phone under 300. Before I go any further, however, I just want to say how intrigued I am that Samsung has included the snapdragon 450 processors for the Australian market. The snapdragon 450 processors was designed to provide fast connectivity, vibrant displays and performance. That's both powerful and battery efficient with computer-like, graphics, okay, so many of you might argue and say man, the snapdragon 450 processors. Isn't that powerful? This phone comes with two gigs of ram. It's only got 32 gig storage.
It's not going to be good enough for me, but look when you take into consideration the price that you pay for this it'll cost you just as much to replace a broken screen on a Samsung s20, and you get the whole phone. So you know you have to be logical about what you expect, but this is actually quite capable for those people that do regular things on a daily basis. Like browsing, Facebook, Instagram messenger WhatsApp make a couple of phone calls or even play a couple of games. You know something like words with friends or solitary or one of those jumping things that you do it handles it quite well. You can even handle a couple of card games, but two gigs of storage is more than enough when you couple this with the Samsung software, optimization that they've done and performed to match the hardware, which means they kind of cut off a few settings, and you know bloatware, there is absolutely no Bixby in there's no briefing news and all that sort of stuff that you get with the higher end.
Phones, it's more than enough for what you need and also, if you're, the type of person that likes to have 20 or 30 apps. In memory, I mean obviously you're not going to buy this phone, but for everyday use and for those that use phones normally like for social media and things like that, it's more than enough. Believe me. Let's take a closer look on the outside cameras and speakers and ports and all that sort of stuff and see what else we can find double tapping the screen to wake on the phone at this price range is a great feature to have, instead of pressing that power button. But let's take a closer look at the ports around the other sides on the bottom.
We have our typical USB type-c port on the right to that we have our speaker grille and on the left. We have our microphone on the right side of the phone. Furthermore, we have our volume rocker and our power button on the top. Furthermore, we have a headphone jack, as well as a secondary microphone for voice cancellation and, last but not least, on the left. Furthermore, we have our sim tray and SD card slot tray, which accepts a NATO sim card, as well as 512 gigabytes of extra micro SD expansion storage.
I am also happy to report that Samsung's fast charging feature is now also available on their lower end devices, and the a11 is no exception and next up, let's test the loudness of the speaker and the earpiece, so the cameras are pretty decent. Also, as long as you have some decent lighting around or take pictures in the daytime, there is a 13 megapixel main shooter, a 5, megapixel, wide angle, camera and a 2 megapixel depth camera. There is also a manual mode if you into that sort of thing, but I find that too hard. Sometimes so the same functions apply to the video recording mode as well as long as you keep in mind that you have some decent lighting around or record mainly in the daytime, then you can take a pretty decent video. The resolution maxes out at 1080p for the both rear and front cameras, which is more than enough for your everyday use or even your social media posting the front camera is an 8 megapixel shooter, and you can also expect some decent shots.
As long as you have some decent lighting around, you can also use the wide-angle mode in here as well, but this simply just crops the image a little to squeeze more real estate into the picture. Gaming performance is more than adequate. When you keep in mind the type of games, this device is capable of playing. Obviously this is targeted for more casual fun and not full-on hardcore gamers. But still you know, I remember only a few short years ago when I used to own my Samsung note 5, and that was a flagship device that cost me over a thousand dollars man.
I actually struggled to play subway, surfers and even cross road to keep frame rates going and now in 2020. I can achieve this on a device that's less than 300 dollars, although the a11 only has an LCD screen instead of the typical AMOLED that Samsung is well known for you'll be hard-pressed telling the difference in most situations, even at 720p resolutions, the colors are vibrant enough to satisfy the everyday user. Furthermore, I mean. Recording a screen on the camera. Doesn't do this justice, as you would see it with your own eyes, take a look at some footage here.
It's fantastic, fast forwarding. A couple of minutes forward into the video is also quite instant and quick thanks to the connectivity solutions of the snapdragon 450 processors. As long as your network, speed is up to par. You'll have absolutely no problem with watching media on this device, so this will handle Netflix or YouTube even 4k footage at no problem whatsoever. Browsing a graphic heavy website like the Sydney morning herald was no match for this little guy.
There was a brief moment where it kind of had a little hiccup, as you can see, with the dark area of the screen, as it was loading, but still not obviously enough to make it turn away from this device, and the overall experience was still pretty smooth. As I'm scrolling down the page, I mean obviously, let's face it when you are browsing a website, you never scroll down this fast. You stop and read the article first right, oh yeah did I mention that the a11 has a system-wide dark mode. This can significantly improve battery efficiency, as it doesn't light up the screen as much, but since I'm in the settings menu, I figured. I might just show you how well this fingerprint sensor works at the back and how quick I can unlock the device without using a password or a pattern.
After scanning my pointer finger until the phone decided it had enough or obviously reached a hundred percent. It was now time to put to the test and see how quickly I can unlock this phone. Let's have a look check it out awesome for alternative tech reports. You.
