Apple Watch Series 6 Unboxing: Solo Loop Fitting!

Hey everyone Tim Schofield here and the new Apple Watch is here. This is the series six Apple Watch, and it includes some new features, has some new color options, along with a new band for your wrist, that they call the solo loop, there's actually no notches like a traditional watch band. It is simply just a bracelet that you slide over your wrist. Now, when you buy clothing and other items that have specific sizes online you're a little wary, you really don't know exactly if it's going to fit. So I got the braided solo loop and I did their online test where you have to measure your wrist, and it came back saying: okay, get a size 8 based on this measurement, so we're going to actually go ahead and see if this fits now. If it doesn't fit apple, makes you send back the entire watch as opposed to just sending you a new band which is a bit of a bummer anyways.

Let's go ahead and open it up see if it fits I'll, also throw it against the series 5 and show off what notch on the sport band that I use and then compare it to the size solo loop. Just to give you kind of comparison in sizing if you're looking to buy one of these with this band. So let's go ahead and get started plain white packaging, and if you are curious, I did get the blue aluminum case.44 millimeters, along with the Atlantic blue braided solo loop, again size 8, also worth mentioning. You need an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14 or later, let's open up the box a bunch of different styles on the inside, and this is the actual box with the watch customized based on the specific color that you're getting just a nice little touch and separately in a box. Is that solo loop? Let's check out the aluminum case to being designed by apple in California, and inside this, is our getting started guide, essentially setting it all up and all your information.

You do have your charger here note. It is USB type a and no, you do not get a brick inside the box, so you will need a power adapter to connect to this charger or, of course you can plug it into your computer. Finally, the watch comes in, I believe, a customized blue casing lets me know it's the 44 millimeter option and let's slide this out of the casing, actually fits a little snug. There we go, and here it is the Apple Watch Series. Six is a quick close-up of the bottom here now, let's open up the solo loop opening this box reveals Apple Watch and lets.

You know information on how to actually install it. I found that these are very, very simple to install so shouldn't have any issues, and here is the solo loop to attach to it quick initial impressions. I do like this blue coloring, it's fairly flexible. You can really stretch it out, which is pretty nice if, hopefully, it fits snug on my wrist, we'll find out in just a second uh, also worth mentioning it's a little rough, not super rough, but definitely curious to see how it's going to feel against. My skin, initially it doesn't feel like it's going to be annoying at all against it and a quick close-up of the actual watch with the blue coloring.

It looks like inside the dial. It's just got a black accent to it, and another button here is where the band's going to slide in we'll do that in just a second, it looks like it is powering on up, which is good uh. We can get the initial power up going on and then down at the bottom again just another spot for the uh solo loop. It's asking us to pair this with our iPhone. However, the moment of truth: let's go ahead and slide the solo loop into one side, so it clicks, and we're good now bring it on over to the other side to slide on in boom.

All right, it clicks uh very easy to do now. Let's go ahead and check and see if this is actually going to fit first time trying it on, you can stretch it on out. It actually feels pretty good. So this fits very well. It does not slide around.

When I move my wrist, it's very comfortable, if anything, I might have gone with just the next size down we'll see over time. However, I think this actually is going to be good for my wrist. I think we're good to go in terms of sizing and for a quick comparison here is the series 5 with the sport band and to give you an idea. I am on the second notch right here, and this is using the largest of the bands. This is 44 millimeters.

I grabbed my iPhone. It automatically prompted me to start pairing. So let's go through the pairing process. I'll talk about anything noteworthy to parrot very simple, just using the camera on the back just hover over that watch and there we go. Your Apple Watch is paired very simple.

I'm going to run through the setup process. Only talk about anything noteworthy, really simple setup process and our watch is now ready. We do have some tutorials to go through uh talking about the display and different things you can do on it. However, we are all set. We are now on the home screen of our Apple Watch.

We did sync up a bunch of different apps as well to use with it. Not only can you customize things through the watch itself, but also on your iPhone that it is synced to whether you want to change the app view. Your notifications, general, your watch faces there's a ton of different things. You can customize just within this specific app this band. It does feel very comfortable on my wrist.

However, the more I wear it, the more I'm wondering if it's just a little too loose, I find it very comfortable in general but loose in terms of it not being tight enough to potentially not measure my blood oxygen level, let's actually test that now, I think we'll be good to go if we can get an accurate reading out of that with the tightness of this strap all right. Let's take that blood oxygen level and the icon is right there, that's what you're looking at, and we're going to go through the entire process. What did they say about 15 seconds? I believe so make sure your uh watch is not too low on your wrist should be snug but comfortable. So this is actually going to tell me if I really do need to send this back again. It's not crazy snug, but it is comfortable, so we'll see if this will actually be able to register so hitting start.

It has a nice countdown, for it also might have to take a heart rate as well to test it, but ending blood oxygen level. Furthermore, it says unsuccessful measurement can be caused by your band being too loose. That is not what I wanted to see after reading this. It says it might be too low, so I moved it up just a little, so we are going to run it once more. There we go so looks like it did actually do a successful test.

I just moved it up a little higher on my wrist, so I do think it is actually tight enough make sure you do test it out multiple times before you're, just like. Oh, I have to send this back because of course, it just does depend on your wrist position that you like it again. I had mine down here, and I needed to move it up just a little more to get an accurate measurement. Let's run it one more time. Okay, and this time we got 100 so 96 to 100 a little inconsistent there.

But again, this isn't necessarily something for medical, it's just to kind of keep an eye on as a casual measurement for you, as I'm scrolling through some watch faces. I am noticing that the haptics feel just slightly different from the previous uh series. They actually do feel better. I also want to dive into the settings of the watch scroll down and find display and brightness, because with the always on display outside you'll notice, it's brighter than the previous series 5. So that's just a difference you can have it always on which I like doing.

Also, a change I like to make is switching the app view to list, as opposed to grid that way you can just scroll through it or, of course, use the crown to scroll through just a little easier than the icons for me so anyways. That is it for now. As always, if you guys have any Apple Watch faces, you recommend. Let me know it's not as comfortable to take off and put on as if you had a detachable clasp on the back of it. However, it is still comfortable to have on my wrist just feels like I'm putting on maybe a live strong band, or something like that on my wrist.

That's kind of what it reminds me of, however, a little tighter, of course, and uh they did a good job with the fit again. The blood oxygen works uh I did do a heart rate, and that worked just fine as well. So we are all good to go with the size 8 band for me, if you have any questions in terms of sizing or anything like that, feel free to drop a comment and other than that. That is everything I wanted to cover. Hopefully you enjoyed the video be sure to give it a thumbs up, as always guys, thanks for watching.
