Apple iPad Air 2020: Perfect for Students?

This video is brought to you by paperlike check description to learn more so Harvard we again went to the Apple Store, not to get my iPad, but actually I picked iPad. So thanks to him today I'll be testing this iPad Air, while comparing it with the iPad Pro that I have used for almost eight nine months, so that every student can decide which iPad to get for their four years of college journey. So, let's get started today is parking by one of the most experienced driver ever every iPad in boxing is so hard, similar design and same unboxing experience, but the difference is the adapter you now get is 20 watt, which is important to get the massive charging on the iPhone. So if you're getting the iPad Air, you do not have to get this 20 watt adapter, which you will be buying for the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro for max safe experience. Okay, so apple also knew that for any student out there, whether he or she is in high school or college to spend around 1 000 us dollars in India. It is close to around 1 lakh Indian rupees for the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil.

It is close to impossible, but now, thankfully they introduced the iPad Air, which is close to around 50 us dollars with the Apple Pencil around 770, but in India close to around 65 000, Indian rupees still expensive, but at least better than before. Now my first impressions are here so first thing that I noticed was that with the touch ID it is minor like one-second difference. So, for example, if I want to unlock it even in the setup, you must have seen that you know they ask you to use both the fingers while setting the iPad for the first time. So now, if I'm using it this way, I can use my left index finger, hold it for two seconds, and it's, and it unlocks, and similarly here also hold it for two seconds, and it unlocks. I think this time it was one and a half second, not much of a difference, but with the face ID it was like.

You know it was just half a second, so maybe just one second of difference, but it's not a game changer honestly, but if you're using the magic keyboard case, then it could be. You know smoother, but I personally don't use it. I personally use this case, which is my favorite for the iPad Pro, but now I cannot use it anymore at all. You know why, because with the iPad Air the touch ID is, you know it requires to be open. So with this case it will be covered, because this case assumes that you're using the iPad Pro.

So you will have to use a separate case while ordering one for the iPad Air and make sure in that the power button has some opening to tap on it. Now this is my favorite case for various things. It's not sponsored now. The number one reason is: I don't like the magic keyboard case at all, so I can, you know, do Netflix or chill by resting on this or if I want to make. If I want to write notes, I can write this way, and you know adjust it.

Just the way I want to, so it has more flexibility, and the most important feature with this case is that I can put my Apple Pencil intact with the iPad Pro. So this that that's the reason. This was always my favorite case and I never lose my Apple Pencil, and it stays intact but anyways. Now, let's talk about the other difference that I noticed is that the speaker grill. So let me quickly show you so the speaker, grills are actually bigger with the iPad Air as compared to iPad Pro now.

The shocking part is even though the grilles are bigger in the iPad Air, but the volume or the quality of the speakers is better still better with the iPad Pro for students, it doesn't matter. But if someone is, you know wanting to play games, and they want to listen to the know the sound at the highest quality. Then there will be a difference in playing games or listening to you know, Netflix or stuff, like that. I can give you example why I was using iPad for Netflix, for example, with Netflix. You get up to two accounts to watch simultaneously, but with the iPad I can download the Netflix movie and still watch it at the same time, my friend or cousin is using my account, so you know there's a limit of one account.

At the same time, you can use Netflix accounts so with the help of iPad was really convenient to download and watch movies in the airport or in the plane. So it was really convenient and that's why iPad is personally very useful to me now. Let's talk about another difference for all the students out there, that is 120 hertz display. That's the game, changer feature why anyone can you know, get the iPad Pro versus the iPad Air. Now, personally, I showed it to carpet, and I asked him: can you feel the difference between iPad Pro and iPad Air while taking his MB notes, and he said he couldn't notice at all? But honestly, when I was taking notes with the iPad here, I did feel different.

So okay, so these are MBA notes, left, side, iPad, air, right side, iPad Pro. I will do the same amount of scrolling, and you can clearly see that iPad Pro is smoother. The number one reason why I experienced the difference between iPad Air and iPad Pro is number one. I'm used to the paper like screen protector on the iPad Pro just see the difference. So this is the iPad Pro with the paper like screen protector now without, and this sound is the reason why I never missed paper at all and honestly, I've tried a lot of paper like screen protectors on Amazon, but the authentic paper like screen protector on paperlike dot com is the best one I have found.

I think it's worth it because they will give you two paper like screen protectors in the back, and you can, you know, use it for four years easily, and I'm using the same one in the last one here. So it is very durable as well so for zoom online classes. Here's the audio and video comparison between the front camera of iPad Air versus the iPad Pro, even though the iPad Air has one less microphone. I don't see much of a difference in the audio or video quality. Both are very similar, but a very minor difference and another key difference is with the iPad Air.

You get 500 nits of brightness on the 10.9-inch screen as compared to 600 x of brightness on the 11-inch screen. I personally never see the difference at all. You will see it only if you, you know, try to use iPad at extremely low light or in the dark, but I never do that. So it's its, not a game changer for any student at all. Now, a lot of students use iPad for photo editing as well as for video editing.

Now, personally, if you compare the performance in photo editing, I use it for Lightroom all the time and photoshop on the iPad. It's so much fun with the iPad, but I didn't feel any difference between iPad Air and iPad Pro. You can even look into geek pen score, but I don't think it really matters, because the real life performance matters more now. Every student must know the three reasons to get the iPad Pro versus the iPad number one. Is it the graphics personally? No, because there's only one percent difference in video rendering, but in photo editing gaming, no difference at all and for students also, they should care about writing notes or taking notes.

So is it the 120 hertz display personally? No, because for no taking you don't notice it that often, so, if so, 120 hertz should matter to you only if you do something with precision. For example, you make a lot of drawings. You make a lot of paintings so for that 120 hertz may be helpful, but in if you don't need precision at all, then 120 hertz will not make a difference. Now. Number three reason could be storage, that's very confusing.

So let me tell you why the most confusing part is storage, because if you buy the 64 gigabyte iPad Air and on the other hand, iPad Pro starts at 128 gigabytes at seven fifty dollars for student discount iPad Air is five three dollars now you can just multiply with maybe 90 uh to get the Indian pricing, or I can just write it down. So in India it will be around 55, 000 rupees. You can just multiply with 100 and in India. This will be around 75 000 rupees. Now the confusing part is, if you try to upgrade the iPad Air to 256 gigabytes, that's the only option after 64.

So if you try that now the price will become around six ninety-nine dollars, that is around seven hundred dollars with the student discount, that is around seventy thousand rupees now the point is the difference is only 50 or 5000 rupees. Now, for this amount, I will say just get the iPad Pro, because I think first, 128 gigabytes is enough as compared to 256 on the iPad and with the iPad Pro with just 5000 rupees you're. Getting a lot more, for example, 120 hertz display you're, getting better graphics performance and the most important face ID, because that is faster. Actually, it's faster in unlocking and make things a lot easier, so face ID is definitely game changer in terms of these fifty dollars. Now another thing if your budget is around one thousand dollars or around fifty thousand rupees of my handwriting 50 000 rupees, which was in my case in the beginning when I was a student, so let me tell you for 50 000 rupees.

I think. First, you can get the iPad Air 64 gigs on installments, with uh, uh, with HDFC Bank for around five thousand to six thousand rupees, or maybe, if you get the Apple Card, you can get it for fifty dollars per month, that's separate in us, but in yeah you can get on installments or in the US. You can get on installments! That's what I did for MacBook iPhone. That's all! I do all the time, so you can either get on installments. But if you do not have you know 60 to 70 000 rupees at the moment 60k to 70k, then you can just get the iPad 10.2 inch, which I've already reviewed I'll link it in the description below. So that's the 8th generation iPad.

You can find it. I think, that's a great iPad to buy for rupees 30k or around 329. You can go for it because it will give you a great note, taking experience as well, and I'll leave the link in the description below, so that will be pretty much it for the videos so and definitely remember, to check out the paper like screen protector, which is like a game changer for iPad. So thank you so much for watching, and I'll see you guys in the next one.
