An Awesome Budget Phone - Meizu M6 Note Review

What's happening everyone, my name's Alex, and welcome back to a new review. Well, first things: first, we made it to over a hundred thousand subscribers and, to be honest, I never thought I would see that happening. So, thank you very much for your support, and thank you very much for subscribing, because without you guys, this wouldn't have been possible. Secondly, I'm trying to get over a cold. Therefore, my voice doesn't sound that great, but hopefully in a couple of days and I will sound much better so, for today we have the maze m6 note, and this is a fold I've been waiting for about four months. You can find this phone for under $200, and for that price you get the phone.

That's mostly made out of metal and glass. We have a 5.5-inch screen that has a 1080p resolution. We have the Snapdragon 625. This is an outscore CPU, that's pair to three gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of internal storage. What would that 32? Gigs of internal storage generally have about 24 gigs left after the operating system, and the phone can also take an SD card.

However, that SD card cannot be used as internal storage, so you can still save pictures who need music, videos and stuff like that, but you're not going to be able to install apps on the SD card, even though the phone feels very premium. When you hold it, the design seems kind of outdated and that's mostly because we don't get that 18 by 9 screen ratio that we are used to seeing with most smartphones these days and of course, we have rather large bezels all around the screen and a big chin and a big forehead, as I mentioned earlier, the back of the phone it's made out of metal, and you can kind of use this phone without a case because you're not going to leave those ugly fingerprints all over the back of the phone. So we have some Montana bands at the top and at the bottom we also have the flash at the top that we have a 12 megapixel camera, a 5 megapixel camera and, lastly, the major logo. The cameras on the back of this phone are also among the best cameras that I've seen for any budget phone. So, yes, we have two cameras and none of them it's fake, as we've seen for a lot of budget phones.

That means that you can take some very good-looking pictures to that portrait mode and the pictures that you are seeing right now or taking you this phone. You can see the tear on part of them the pictures that you take with some other more expensive devices. The same goes, if you take regular looking pictures so pictures that you're going to take would just on the 12 megapixel camera on the back the phone, so first, the dynamic range is better than a lot of other phones that I've seen and much more expensive phones. The pictures are very sharp and very detailed, and the colors are also very accurate. So this is easily one of the best cameras that I've seen for any budget phones in the past two years.

Even the pictures taken at night look perfect for a phone on this ship I mean they may be a bit over sharpen, but overall, considering the price of the phone. I can really complain. So, overall, all the best cameras that I've seen for any budget phone, and since we are talking about cameras, we might as well talk about the front-facing camera, so the front-facing camera is sitting just above the screen. That's a 16 megapixel sensor, and next to that we also have a LED notification light the picture quality. It's also great.

The pictures are sharp and detailed, mostly if you have plenty of light as soon as you don't have enough light. Well, the pictures become a bit grainy here and there, but overall still better than a lot of other phones that I've seen around $500 and just before we go any further. Can you help me out by pressing that, like button, it's going to make a huge difference for this video all right and moving just below the screen that we have the fingerprint scanner, so the fingerprint scanner can also be used as a home button or as a back button? So if you just tap on it once it becomes a back button, if you press on it, it becomes a home button as a fingerprint scanner. It works great. It's quick enough, but every time you want to use it, you have to wake up the phone, so you can do that by either pressing the power button or pressing that button all the way on down.

So it's not that fast as all the other phones that we've seen where you can just touch the fingerprint scanner and the screen unlock. So this one, you actually have to wake up the phone before I'm, using the fingerprint scanner and for those of you that don't like using the fingerprint scanner as a navigation button, you can also bring up the navigation buttons on the screen and that may be easier and switching between apps and then go back and stuff like that, and we are moving on to the 5.5-inch screen. So this is an IPS panel that has a resolution of 1080p. Now the colors are nice and vibrant, no complaints about them. The viewing angles are also good, but I wish the blacks would be a bit darker because the blacks look more like gray.

As for the screen brightness. Well, if you take the phone outside, and it's fairly sunny outside, it's going to be kind of difficult to see it, so the brightness could be a bit better. As for the screen sensitivity. Well, this is better than most budget phones, that I tried and up the can register up to ten touches at the same time, and of course, I haven't really had any issues and avarice typing playing games or anything that I was doing on the screen, and we are moving on to the phone's frame, so the frame it's a continuation of the back. Therefore, it's also made out of metal on the right hand, side we have the power button and the volume keys and these buttons are also made out of metal at the top.

We have a secondary microphone and, on the left hand, side we have the slot for the SIM card, so this device can take either two SIM cards or a sinker than an SD card and moving all the way to the bottom of the folder. We have a 3.5 million all do jack and that's a great thing to have, because we don't usually see that thumb very often these days. Furthermore, we also have the microphone and micro, USB charging port and, of course, the speaker. The sound quality from that 3.5 million Aka is great, it's loud crisp and up with a lot of bass. Sorry no complains about that, and the same goes for that external speaker.

So this is one of the best sounds that I've heard from any budget phones. But here is a quick sample, so you can see for yourself how it sounds and moving back to that microUSB charging port well, first the phone supports OTG, and that means that you can plug in any USB stick and the phone can read um whatever you have on that USB stick and the phone also supports fast charging. So charging the device from zero to 100 is done in under two hours, even though the phone it's fairly slim inside it, we have a four thousand William hour battery, and since we have that power, efficient, Snapdragon, 625 CPU, you can expect some great battery life. So you can go for about two days without charging the phone and out of that between nine and ten hours of screen on time and nine and ten hours of screen on time. It's great for any phone at any price range performance, wise, the phone, it's running, Android, seven point one point: when we also have measures on skin.

On top of that and that's called the flame OS now some may love it. Some may hate it. It's kind of a combination between iOS and Android anyways up to that's, never again, 625 we get fairly high scores on the an tutu benchmark and the Geek bench four. So you get about seventy-four thousand on the entry to benchmark and that's probably the highest score that I've seen for that's Nation 625, the flame OS. It's definitely not for everyone.

It has a lot of features packed in and it kind of reminds me of me UI. So if you use the Che ramie phone in the past, this one will feel kind of similar. You have access to a theme store, so you can basically change everything about your phone. You can change how everything looks. Furthermore, you can change the icons, you can change the wallpapers.

Everything is very customizable, but at times it could be a bit heavy. Since you only have three gigs of ram. Multitasking is another great testament in out there, because the phone will tend to kill some apps that you have running in the background. But of course it really depends on how many apps you have running in the background. You can also use the split screen function from Android done, seven and that one was good, but once again it really depends on how many apps you have running.

In the background. The phone feels fairly speedy when moving in between screens, but opening apps takes about a second, a second and a half longer than am 42 takes with a flagship device, and that's mostly because of that snapdragon 625. So always keep that in mind that snapdragon 625 it's a power efficient CPU, but it's not the quickest out there. But if you have patience with this phone, the phone does work very well. Once an app is open, you should not have any issues even of the Facebook app scrolling up or down after the app loads up.

It does go on fairly fluidly. The same goes for the Twitter app for Chrome or basically any app that you're going to try. So most apps are gonna, do okay on this phone after they load, but they do take a second or so to load on the YouTube app of course, the maximum resolution, it's gonna, be 1080p and that's the maximum resolution of the screen and all the videos that I watched. That resolution worked extremely well and without any issues as for gaming. Well, I tried pop G and asphalt 8 and obviously because everybody is crazy about pop GM fortnight.

These days, I was quite impressed to see how well the phone performed for that pop G game. Now the graphics settings are set on medium, but the phone did perform better than I was expecting. Maybe there are a couple of skipped frames here and there, but you can always lower the graphics settings and the phone dome, absolutely fine without any lag at all. Now the phone does get hot whenever you are playing any of those games, but overall for the snapdragon 625, the game does more than okay. Moving on to the GPS unit inside this phone, only Tony takes the phone half a second to find your location, and it doesn't matter if you're inside or outside, so the GPS unit works extremely well and the phone doesn't seem to lose your location, no matter where you are and of course, using Google Maps also works very good and without any issues for sensor.

So you have all the sensors that you'd expect in a flagship device, including a gyroscope, and since we have on display that has a 1080p resolution. You could technically use this as a VR headset as well. So all the sensors available are also working good connectivity, wise the phone supports, 4G connectivity and also dual-band Wi-Fi, but unfortunately we don't have NFC now here in Canada, I was able to use the phone on 2g, 3G and 4G, but definitely check the band's before buying this device and make sure that they actually match on your carrier. The speaker on top here gets loud enough, so you can hear most conversations. So no complaints about that and the speeds over the 4G network and the dual-band Wi-Fi are also good and better than a lot of other phones that I've seen in the past and even more expensive phones, and it's time to conclude this video so for under $200, the major m6 note, it's a great phone and I.

Don't really have that many bad things to say about it. We have great cameras on the front and on the back, we have great battery life, decent performance and the only thing I don't like about it is the fingerprint scanner I wish the phone down lock the screen, just by touching the fingerprint scanner, because, as it is, you actually have to press the fingerprint scan around for the phone to wake up before it unlocks the screen, but other than that I'm pretty happy with this phone. Alright guys, hopefully enjoyed this video. If you did like it, press that, like button, don't forget, subscribe and are seeing the next on thanks for watching.
