All the features of Redmi 9 camera | Camera review

Hey, what's up guys welcome back to BGR India, the Redmi 9 is one of Xiaomi's many additions to the 9 series of smartphones launched this year. Unlike its close elder brother, the Redmi 9 prime, the standard Redmi 9 cuts down on a bunch of specifications and is offered starting at rs 8999 among the toned down specifications of the Redmi 9 is the dual camera module, which strangely is designed to desperately look like the quad camera module. The setup consists of 13 megapixel primary camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. There is also a 5 megapixel camera on the front housed inside the water drop notch. Let's talk about the camera performance of this budget phone coming to the design itself. We see that in this square camera module only the two lenses on the top are real sensors.

The bottom left one is actually the flash and the bottom right. One is not even a sensor, just a false placeholder. So yes, the only sensor you get here are 13 megapixel primary sensor and a 2 megapixel depth sensor coming to the Redmi 9s pictures. We found the quality of the photos to be good, given some decent lighting shots often come out looking crisp and vivid. The autofocusing speed wasn't the best, but it works, and if you have patience you can get some perfect photos from the Redmi 9.

Camera performance in low light and artificial lighting was not so great. However, considering this is a budget device, the pictures can be considered pretty good as long as there is at least some form of artificial lighting nearby. However, details obviously took a big hit in the loss of good lighting photos occasionally appeared, noisy and isolated. Light sources often came off with a scattered glow, but that can be expected at this price point. Coming to the 5 megapixel front camera.

We found satisfactory results, but we really wish this was at least an 8 megapixel sensor to keep photo resolution on par with the competition regardless photo maintained. Good color and exposure levels and selfies also looked normal. However, the lack of details left us wanting more performance in low light, took a big hit and photos came out, looking very noisy and simply unsatisfactory. That is pretty much for the Redmi 9's camera performance. Overall, we have mixed feelings about the Redmi 9.

If camera performance is a dealbreaker for you, it is no-brainer to opt for the Redmi 9 prime, instead of this phone for simply 1000 rupees more, which offers much better camera performance. So that's pretty much for this video guys.
