After 6 months - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra long-term review!

In lieu of the galaxy impact event- that's going to happen in a week, or so I decided hey. Let's do a long term review of the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra we've seen many phones in the first half of this year, but this phone has been the one, that's always in my pocket since the day I got it. So, let's begin, and I think it's been about six months since I got this phone and seriously, though this phone is one of the sexiest that I've seen so far. When I want to clean the phone case, I will have a look at the camera cut out every time, because it's just an iconic design to the point where, if you're just gonna look at the phone's back, you can instantly see the camera cut out and recognize that it's one of the galaxy s21 series of smartphones and the matte black finish is again one of the best I've touched so far. It feels amazing, but I'm not using the phone naked since I got it so. Unfortunately, I don't get to see the matte finish that much.

But speaking of the case, this is actually the sign case that I got recently it's a special case designed by sign to house the s pen as well, and the reason why I got this case is that the bundle case that came along with the s pen was way too drippy, and it was ripping out lint and fur from the dogs pretty frequently. So I ended up getting this case instead, and I'm loving it so far. This case is also thinner, but a bit wider, and I'm okay with that. Now back to the camera, cutouts of the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra. There are a total of four different cameras housed in this humongous cutout here and so far I've been taking a lot of pictures and videos with this phone because it's been the only one phone in my pocket all times.

I yeah I just like all the picture and video quality that comes out of this phone, no problem so far, and I'm just a satisfied customer. Sometimes I even take pictures and videos to use it in one of the videos that you are watching right now, because I don't have to do additional editing or color correction and whatnot. It's just snap put in the video, and it's good to go. So that's a bit more convenient, and sometimes, if I just want to get things done, this is the device to use and, after capturing all the photos and videos with the galaxy s21 ultra. Transferring it to my PC at the back here is also very fast thanks to the USB 3 port at the bottom of this phone, which many wannabe flagship smartphones in the market, right now is still using USB 2.0, even though their price is more than 4000 ringgits. So yeah keep that in mind, and I also saw a lot of people complaining that the galaxy s21 series doesn't come with a micro SD card slot, to which I will have to share my experience with you at first.

It was weird to me too, because the previous phone that I was using came with a micro SD card slot, but now for some reason, the card just has nowhere to go, but I still transferred all the data to this phone, which has 256 gigs so far. I find it very difficult to even fill up half of the capacity that's available for me to use. So I have gotten so lazy that I start to hog data. I just download a lot of images saved a lot of images and memes and then took a lot of pictures and videos without ever deleting them at all, and I only use 140ish gigs out of that 256. So I don't see an issue of not having micros card.

So what's the complaint about, and personally I use this phone to work a lot, and it is equipped with the Enos 2100 instead of the snapdragon triple h, chipset, which honestly I prefer the Enos a lot more because it doesn't overheat like the snapdragon, and it still gets all of my tasks done without any lags at all. So I'm, okay with that and also on the subject of work, I usually hop between multiple different apps saving and cropping screenshots and using the s pen to write, draw and mostly illustrate something if I want to explain it to some other people, and that is also why I like Samsung's one UI one of the feature that no other android smartphone companies have implemented is edge panel. So one of the options in each panel is to take a screenshot where you can draw which part of the screen you want to screenshot. But when you are about to hit the save button, there is yet another option for you, which is to extract the text and now, since we're all home bound. This option here is surprisingly useful nowadays, because I find myself using this feature in particular to extract tracking numbers of other people, sending tracking numbers through WhatsApp to me does that make sense, and this kind of features saves me a lot of time and frustration and yeah.

I just really appreciate this kind of quality of life features and next up is Samsung pay. This is the second feature that I like the most because recently because of the rising cases of the pandemic. What I'm doing is to just use my phone and Samsung pay everywhere, because I'm not even carrying cash with me, and sometimes I don't even carry my wallet with me because I just think using cash is a bit unhygienic and I also do not want to go to the ATM to withdraw money so yeah and before anyone is asking. Is the Enos 3100 good enough for gaming? Well, you can check out our original gaming video of this phone in the top right corner there, and after that I actually don't play any games on my phone, because I got this decked out desktop behind me and also a Nintendo Switch right there. So yeah, I just don't play games on my phone at all.

I just use them to work and, throughout my usage, the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra 5000 William hour battery can last me throughout the day and at the end of the day, I usually have more than 45 of battery left, and that includes the days when I need to go back to the studio as well and do keep in mind that every day I do get a lot of emails, notifications and calls. So this kind of battery life is just amazing for me, and the display is something that I need to highlight once again. It's still amazing, and I'm using this screen at 1440p at 120hz refresh rate at all times, and I still end up with that much battery life at the end of the day, and that just goes to show that this screen here, the LPO screen with its automatically lowering of refresh rate, does save a lot of battery and so far I'm amazed no problems there, and you might have wondered that the screen looks a bit hazy and that's because I'm using a matte screen protector. Instead, I replaced the pre-installed screen protector because it was a bit scratched up, but this match screen protector still does its job pretty well, so the fingerprint unlock still works without an issue so yeah, but back to the battery life for a while. If for some reason on that particular day, I'm a bit too busy to even touch the phone, I will end up with like 70 when I go to bed so yeah, and sometimes I just don't charge the phone for a day at all, and I use it continuously throughout the next day as well, and then I charge it which usually has about like 20 of battery left at the end of the second day, so again, great battery life out of the Samsung Galaxy, s21 ultra and speaking of charges.

Yes, the galaxy s21 series, so smartphones does not come with a charger. I'm okay with that, because I have a lot of old charges anyway, and I just charged this phone using the 10 watt charger that I have lying around. So no problems for me and I never needed fast charging anyway. So I just plug it into the 10 watt, charger go to bed and then unplug. When I wake up that's my usual routine, but the battery life, though it does get affected by its updates.

So when I got this phone back in February, or so every month without fail, I will get one update, but sometimes the update will affect the battery life and cause it to drain a bit more battery, it's not actually by a significant amount, but it's definitely noticeable and consistent. So I still end up with more than 45 percent of battery at the end of the day, in whatever patches that I've used. So again, I have no problems at all, and so, if you're thinking to get the Samsung Galaxy s101 ultra today, you can actually find this phone for about 4299 ringgits on Lazada's tech mall, which is the lowest price that I can find for this phone in particular, and also with 256 gigs of storage, which I think it's a much more reasonable price compared to its recommended retail price of 5299 ringgits. If I remember correctly so yeah just keep in mind that you will need some other accessories like the s pen, just to get the most out of your purchase. Well, I do think that the price is more reasonable.

Now it's still a very expensive phone, so this phone is meant for those who really want to go above and beyond on mobile smartphones, and you want to do everything with just this device alone, then yeah, it might be worth it for you. So that's all I have to share with you after using this phone for about six months and so far, I'm I might have found my perfect phone as of now so yeah. If you have any questions, leave them down in the comment section below, and we'll see you guys in the unpacked event, maybe goodbye you.
