Apple iPhone XS and XS Max Unboxing and Hands On: Should You Upgrade??

Hello and welcome back to the channel unless you're new here, in which case welcome to the channel. If you hadn't noticed already, there are two bags here in front of me that both have Apple logos on them. Apple had their event recently, where they unveiled a few new iPhones, a few new Apple watches. If you knew whatever and as you might have expected, I've spent entirely too much money. So this is going to parlay into at least two videos, probably three, maybe more get some Apple Watchers to take a look at and some iPhones to take a look at, and I think in this video we're gonna first start off with the iPhones, and you might be noticing I said Apple, watches, and I said. iPhones Apple did announce three new iPhones, two of which were immediately available, and I do have one of each of them here with me today, and I'll probably end up with the iPhone 10s max, which is actually why I bought the 256 gig model of this I couldn't justify going to the 512 gig muddle on this because $1,450 while 1250, is an awful lot of money.1450 is an awful lot of money, and this is just a 64 gig, iPhone tennis. Again it's about a thousand dollars, so all told between these two that's about twenty to fifty, which is a lot of an investment.

So hopefully these videos do all right without any further ado. Let's just go ahead, and we'll open these. Both up I did get the gold color in both and their iPhone. So there's not a lot to show in terms of the unboxing, let's go ahead and do it, and you might be asking what's new, what's different about the new iPhones they've got a newer, faster chip, more RAM, bigger batteries, all sorts of slightly new and slightly better things. This is the 10 s.

This is not the 11 or anything, so this is kind of an incremental upgrade and actually just holding this in the hand, feels an awful lot like the iPhone 10 which I've been using, is my iPhone of choice for the last year, almost a year, I guess because Apple released the iPhone 10 a little while after the iPhone 8 and a plus came out so anyway, as you can see here, I do have the iPhone 10 s. This is the gold model. Sort of put it up here, really not quite as gold as I was expecting on the back. This is I heard somebody mentioned bandied colored and that's that's exactly what I would use to describe this we'll go ahead and take this off just to see if it changes the color a little but now, depending on the way you're looking at it in the light it's kind of yellow and actually, if with just the right lighting on it, you can kind of see that, where it's called gold, but in most scenarios it kind of looks pinkish. It kinda looks like a bandage, but do you have that nice? Gold, stainless steel rim all the way around the outside, of course, the speaker grille on the bottom and how the microphone is not symmetric with it.

That's going to throw a lot of people off still using the lightning port on the bottom. Still has the same kind of cameras ever so slightly better cameras and God did glaze over it, but you do get the documentation, as you would expect. With your Apple stickers, you get your ultra slow charger because for some reason Apple doesn't want us to have the faster charger out of the box. I know it's a ridiculously expensive thing to buy after the fact and that's why they do that sort of the same with the fact that they still include the Lightning earbuds, but there's no longer the Lightning two three-and-a-half millimeter adapter on the back, just the Lightning AirPods ear, pods yeah and your traditional USB to lightning cable. So again, unfortunately, no USB type-c to lightning and no more headphone adapter included, not a big deal for me, but I know it will be a big deal for a lot of people and why not we'll go ahead and open up the 256 gig model, iPhone 10s max just to see what the differences are.

If there are any you know, I haven't really thought about it. I was actually about to say where's the sim ejector tool, but it's its in there I, just I wasn't looking in the right place, so it does still come with sim ejector tool. Here's the 10s max quite and unravel it and all the same accessories as you would expect. Although everything was actually upside down in this one, that's interesting, not that it makes a difference, but I thought I'd mentioned it anyway, and so there you have the iPhone 10s max right next to the iPhone 10 as both of them in gold. These are also available in the space, gray and silver colors that you've previously had the gold is just new for this generation.

So that's actually a large part of the reason why I went with gold that and as with all previous phones, that I tend to do I tend to keep a case on it. So, like this wonderful, looking, Space Gray, blackish, color I've had covered up with a case the entire time. So it's not like it's really making a huge difference. What color I pick, and it's not a bad color? It's just. It's got a little of a pink tone to it.

So if that's not your thing, absolutely do not go for the gold one, but that's going to be the main way that people are gonna, be able to tell that you have the new one. If you have to have, let people know that you have the new phone you go ahead, and we'll just start them both up. At the same time, there we go Apple logos- and this is not gonna- be a thorough in depth. Video about these phones or anything they're both supposed to be about 50% faster than the previous model, because of that a12 Bionic chip they're both supposed to have slightly better video and audio and stereo microphones and stereo sound, so they're supposed to be incrementally better. That's why they have an S and that's why they don't have a new model.

Number I'm, okay with that, but you probably will not be so honestly if you're in the market for an iPhone, the best one to go for is probably going to be the iPhone 10, because you're going to be able to find it on sale in a lot of places. The iPhone 10 R is also going to be relatively inexpensive. It's still very expensive at about $750 to start and if you'd like to see me, make a video about that next month. When it comes out, I'll probably do that as well I'm kind of curious to see how the cameras compare, and I'll, probably one of the next videos on the channel will probably be comparing the iPhone 10 camera to the iPhone 10s max I know everybody and their brother is gonna. Be doing that and their mother and the grandmother, but why should I be different from the heck anyway? The phones have started up now, so I'm going to go ahead and swipe up and go through the setup process.

This is an iPhone, so it's very much exactly the same as every other one and actually as a part of the setup process. Here it's a setup. New iPhone set up your new iPhone. This will transfer your current settings continue, and it's going to use my Apple ID to set up the new phone. Of course, this is not a process.

That's new! It's actually been around for a couple of generations now, but this will make it very painless for me to get started. I can just run this little process. It'll move everything over for me. Wirelessly I can move my sim over and be ready to go on the new phone in no time and honestly, I. Don't think.

I have a lot more to say about it than that. If you're in the market for a new iPhone- and you have between a thousand and fifteen hundred dollars to spend, you would probably be better served going with the iPhone 10 the previous model than this new one. But this new one is supposed to be ever so slightly better. So I'm, okay, with having gone with it as I mentioned I, did also pick up two new Apple watches, so I'm going to go ahead and start the video about that here in just a minute, be on the lookout for that. If you want to see a video about me talking about it because I've got the Apple Watch Series too, and so I'm upgrading from the series too to the series four should be a pretty big spec bump there, I'm going to go ahead and set up face, ID and get this done.

But if you'd like to see future videos about this camera tests- and things like that, let me know down in the comment section below, but thank you guys, as always for watching hit the thumbs up. If you liked the video subscribe to the channel to get all the new videos when they become available, and I'll, see you again next time.
