A Bad iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus Unboxing + First Impressions!

What's up guys Matthew Mona's here and, as you notice, I got a couple of iPhones in front of me: the iPhone 8 plus and the iPhone 8, there's no plastic on it. They're, not fake I promise, I just screwed up the video a couple of times already, so the plastic is no longer a thing, but I do want you to enjoy this video. This is gonna, be the worst unboxing experience you've ever had, and it also happens to be the first unboxing experience on this channel. So, let's start off with the iPhone 8 plus and as you can see here, it comes in a box. The box is a little different from last year. You have that glass looking back instead of that usual display image, they put on most boxes.

You have paperwork which we don't care about, and you have the iPhone itself, which I didn't put back in the box properly. That's okay, I'm gonna! Take it out, I'm gonna show to you anyways. You get your adaptor to hook up your headphones in case. You have those, and you get ear, pods, not ear pods but ear pods. It would have been nice to include air paws in the box or at least with the iPhone 10, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen, so you get the regular ones with the wire hanging down now.

One thing I did notice about this box. There is no pin to take out the SIM card, Apple cut out the pin, so you can't put a SIM card here. I had to go upstairs and grab a paperclip come back down jab my phone with it. So I can put the SIM card inside kind of weird they're, cutting all these things back, but yet charging us more box aside. We have the iPhone 8 plus next is the iPhone.

Now I really dig this color I'm, not gonna. Tell you what's in the box, it's the exact same thing. This comes pretty cool because it's like an ice cream to it. It has these gold sides when the light reflects off of it. It just looks very, very classy, so I'll just leave that here, so you can stare at it.

I'm not going to touch it because I'm probably going to return it, but I will do you want to talk about the A+, because I'm going to hang on to this for a while I'm going to use it every single day until the iPhone 10 comes out, then I'll probably sell it, but it's pretty much the exact same thing as the iPhone 7, plus. The only big difference is that the back looks a little different. So essentially you have aluminum on the old one and on this one you have a glass back that allows you to wirelessly charge your device, so Apple people can wing this for a very long time. It's been on for years. So, finally, it is here.

You also notice, there's no branding under the iPhone there's none of that FCC stuff. So it's kind of a lot cleaner, I also noticed a couple of other things. I could be crazy. I could be absolutely wrong, but the logo on the iPhone 7 plus looks a little smaller than the iPhone 8 plus I'd have to measure it and my eyes just could be going. Furthermore, I am getting older, but I.

Actually think this one is a little bigger, I'm going to measure it later I'm, going to post it on Twitter. Again it could be wrong. Antenna lines are a little more refined, so, instead of having them wrap around the bottom, like you do on the 7 plus, you have it only on the sides, so it's baked into the glass back. This way you can get that single a little easier. The cameras are the same they're, both 12 megapixel sensors, but they have been improved.

They've opened them up a little, so you get much better photos which I'll test in my upcoming videos and the second sensor is still a zoom lens, so you can zoom in up to two times to get closer to the subject. They have improved that as well. This one is not optically stabilized. If you want the optically stabilized. Second lens you're going to have to wait for the iPhone 10 I also just noticed something.

If you look at the reflection from the light and the camera, it actually looks like I have a crack on the back of my screen. I promise you there is no crack, it is just the reflection. I do think. You're going to get a lot more fingerprints with the class back just because it is a lot more noticeable, and if you do drop this phone, you are more likely to break it. Now.

I've already taken the liberty to set up the phone, because I just didn't feel like sitting here and wasting time going through all the mundane tasks, but I'll be honest. It looks and feels exactly like the iPhone 7 plus, in fact, they're pretty much the exact same height, the exact same width. The only difference is that the new 8 plus is slightly heavier, but, to be honest, I can't really notice it. When I have it in my hands and I, don't think most people will notice it either. Now, there's a few things: I want to talk about with the new phone.

There is a faster AAA 11 Bionic chip inside, so we can expect significantly faster speeds. You know what, in fact, let's do a speed test right now and test out the iPhone 7, plus the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, now I, obviously don't care about benchmarks anymore, just because, as long as a phone feels smooth and smooth, that's all that really matters, but just for the hell of it. I want to see what the benchmarks show with the brand new an 11 Bionic chip, so we're going to start all of them at the same time, and we're going to see which one does the best. Obviously it's going to be the 11, but let's just do it for fun, anyways, alright, so the scores are in I had to read to the iPhone 7 plus again, because it wasn't connected to the Internet. You need to be connected to internet for Geek bench 4.

They don't know that anyways, as you can see, the iPhone 7 plus is still dominating. The single course feeds completely being a snapdragon 835, and this processor is much older than Earth. But, of course, the new king and the new champion is the a11 Bionic chip, you're, getting multi-core speeds of 10000 I. Think the only other chip that I've seen come back close is hallways care and chips, but the Snapdragon chips are no more close to that, and I do expect this chip to be the king of performance for at least another year. Apple is usually ahead in the CPU department.

It's pretty crazy to think they've doubled their Maltese core speed by almost double the single core speed is a little faster, so you should notice a big improvement when it comes to things like an are playing games and typical day-to-day use. Now speaking of error, let's go ahead and check it out, because that's the next big feature behind the iPhone, 8 plus and Apple made a lot of big talk about it and I want to see what it looks like and how it performs. So the first example is this augmented reality app that lets you place objects on a desk, so I'm placing this one beside the phone over here I can drive it beside the Galaxy Note 8 beside it right here, I mean this one's a very simple one: they got some more cool ones. In fact, you can actually put Thomas the Train right on the table. So, let's test this guy out, oh wow, I, have to admit the speakers on the new iPhone 8 plus sound much nicer than the ones on the 7 plus they sound a lot richer.

A lot fuller that 25% difference definitely makes a difference. So this will give you a little taste of what AR looks like you can basically place an object on your desk. You can interact with it right now. I got Thomas the train going around the desk. You just pass my iPhone, and he's going around the corner of the Galaxy Note 8.

Now. Obviously, this is a very bad example, just because of the camera layout, but I promise to go more in depth with an are in my full review. I mean besides that. There's not much else to talk about I mean it's pretty much the exact same iPhone that you would get from last year with beefed up internals and a few new features. If you want face ID, if you want the slightly better second zoom lens you're going to have to wait for the iPhone 10, but for those of you out there who are coming from, let's say the iPhone 5 the 5s, and you don't mind having a design.

That's already been out for four years, then yeah, the iPhone 8 plus, is a good upgrade. But then again, if you're, upgrading to the eighth plus, you might say to yourself, you know what the iPhone 10 only costs to this much more, maybe I'll just go with the new design, because most likely Apple's gonna stick with that for the next two to three years. This is especially important for people who keep their phones for at least three years. You probably want a newer design than something like this one now I do want to show one more thing before I wrap this up. I do want to show the difference between true tone displays, so I'm going to jump into settings.

I'm going to see if they give you the example when the difference is between true tone and not true tone. So I have the regular iPhone, 7 plus right here, we're going to open it up and so inside the iPhone 7 plus there is no option for true tones, so you're going to have more of a blue or bluish color, depending on the lighting of the room. So if I turn off true tone, the tone of both displays should be very similar when I turn it back on. You can see kind of went slightly more Worm, depending on the light in the room. Now this continues to adapt, depending on the lighting of any room that you go inside now.

This is one of those little things that you don't notice until you actually turn it off. So it's a great feature that I think Apple put on their smartphones so that pretty much wraps up my first impressions of the iPhone 8 and a plus I apologize for this terrible unboxing first time on the channel I promise, the review will be much better so make sure you hit the subscribe button for that. With that being said, if you liked the video feel free to smash, the like button, I will make sure to see everybody in the next video.
