Worth Upgrading? / Pixel 4 XL vs Pixel 3a Camera Comparison

Today, we're going to put the pixel four versus a through a, so it's going to be a flagship versus a budget battle and I think for the most of the video. It's going to be exactly the same in terms of quality. Maybe the pictures might be a little better on the pizza floor, but since they didn't announce anything new on the video side up, a pizza for I'm going to see if that's going to be mostly the same. So this is how it looks like during nighttime, and I'm in a part of the city where there's not a lot of building lights. So there's just a bunch of streetlights cars and that's pretty much it. Let's talk about Porsche mode first and in my experience, I do like the Porsche mode on the pixel for better than a 3a.

Now I'm, not talking about the quality I'm. Just talking about the experience where it's a wider focal length and if I ever need to zoom in more I can actually double tap to use a telephoto lens, whereas on or 3a you're, pretty much stuck with that one focal length. So if you want to take a picture of your food or your drink or whatever in your hands 103a, it's going to be a little difficult, because you're going to have to stretch all the way out to get a good image where else on the pixel, for it's a good size or a good focal length. Where it's wide enough that you don't need a stretch out, you can just be more relaxed, and you can just snap your picture. So, if you're planning to take portrait pictures of your friend or a person, then, if you're outside it's completely fine, because they have so much space to move around.

But if you're indoors or if you're having dinner and the person's right in front of you across the table, then put it through a's kind of tight. So that's another situation where two pixel four wins in terms of quality. I would say they look really similar. It's to a point where a regular person cannot tell if it's coming from a three, a or four when you start to zoom in that's when you kind of notice more details missing on it 3a. So the quality is a bit better on a pixel for when you're zooming in, but I don't find.

A lot of people would want to zoom in more in portrait mode for low-light I would say the pixel four is just a little cleaner in terms of noticing artifacts, but the majority of it is the same and something I found pretty inconsistent in terms of the Pixel 3a, and the four is that the colors are a little different, sometimes there's a slight shade of green, a slight shade of blue or even purples. So it's not always the same color I would say, but the quality of sharpness and the clarity is really similar for the front. Selfie remote and portrait I got a literally similar again I, don't really notice any huge difference. Besides the wider focal length on the pixel for not until the hit start time, I would clearly say that the pixel for it seems like the winner here now how about just regular photo taking and by no surprise they look similar again. An inconsistency of the colors still applies to just the regular main camera, because sometimes you can see the bricks to be more red on one of the pictures and sometimes in the shadows, it's much more blue on it through a, and it could be the same thing for the four and since the four has two telephoto lenses.

That is an advantage, but then again, if you zoom in with the Pixel 3a, they're pretty similar in terms of quality, but I would say it looks a little better on the floor and of course you can zoom a bit more with the four as well now coming from the 3a with just one single lens. Is it something to upgrade for to get the telephoto lens on a four I want to say is really worth it. I would say the telephoto lens is more situational or more handy when you need it. So how likely would a person use the telephoto lens versus having an ultra-wide lens, something that's new? What the for is that you can actually separately control your exposures of your highlights and your shadows so do find out more accurate to get that so in picture you want than tapping around the whole screen and trying to get that exposure now. Moving on to low white and eyesight again really similar.

The benefit of the four is that you can still use the telephoto lens. You take your night side shots when it's a bit darker Google still does this thing where it kind of look like it's daytime when using the night sight, so it's kinda hit or miss. Sometimes it looks more natural and sometime. It looks like daylight now. Moving on to video, and surprisingly stabilization is better on the 403, a and I would say the HDR is just us much better on the floor, just by a little now for a low light.

It's still obvious that the former went because of the stabilization, but one thing I notice is that it doesn't have that much Michael jitters, so I would actually put pixels video in terms of low-light quality better than other androids out there. So between you, two I would say the four is better in terms of the photo experience coming from the single lens from the 3a, it's nice to have more breathing room of taking pictures of your friends and then, if you need more range, you can actually zoom in. If you are happy with that single lens with the single focal length, then honestly, I wouldn't say you should upgrade two to four. Unless you want more flexibility or if you just find the telephoto lens useful because in terms of quality, they're really similar to the point where a regular person will not be able to tell the difference. So those are my thoughts between the 3 8 and the 4.
