What's up guys, my name is Brandon, and I've been using numerous battery cases on my iPhone 10s max and my iPhone 10 R for the past couple of months now, and I wanted to give you guys a breakdown of my favorite three cases and why I prefer one over another. So in this video we're going to be taking a look at the Sophie Juice Pack access, the encased Rebel power and the Apple smart battery case and I do also want to thank Sophie and in case for sending these cases out for review a couple of months ago, they haven't paid me a dime to make a video on either one of these cases. This is all just my personal opinion and I also have to say: I was a huge fan of movies packaging, their packaging that they sent out. These cases in was just incredible, so anyways, moving on I did make a video on Apple's smart battery case when it was first released a while back and pretty much everything I said in that review still holds true to this day, and it's still one of the best, if not the best option. On the market today for a battery case, however, it is $130 which is a pretty steep price for a case now in comparison, Sophie Juice Pack access is thirty dollars less coming in at $100. Meanwhile, the in case rebel power is only $49.99, so half the price of the Sophie, which is already cheaper than Apple's smart battery case. But of course you get what you pay for.
So we will talk about all that here shortly, and you do also get this pretty cool blueish color with the rebel power which is actually the color I've, been using on my iPhone 10s max over the past couple months, but anyways first things. First, I use all three of these cases for completely different scenarios and that's another big reason. I wanted to show these three battery cases specifically in this video. So of course Apple. Smart battery case is made of silicone, and it has a nice grip to it, but it is a little tough to get out of your pockets when you put it in your pockets, because it does tend to almost like stick to your shorts or jeans.
It's hard to explain, but if you've used the silicone case, you probably know what I'm talking about it's a little tough to get out and some also say it's a little slippery and while that is true, it's not slippery enough to wear. It will just constantly fall out of your hands while using it. Furthermore, it still has a nice grip. Furthermore, it is a little slippery at times, but it's not a deal-breaker now in terms of protection, it will protect your phone when it falls, but the silicone will definitely get nicked up when it does fall. An Apple smart battery case is also pretty easy to get your phone and you kind of just lean back the top part right here.
It kind of stretches like that, and it allows you to simply slide your phone in very easily, and it connects down there to the Lightning port, as you can see very easily and just flap that up very easy to get your phone into the smart battery case from Apple. It does have that fully protected bottom with cutouts for the speakers, unlike the Sophie case over here, which you can see just has a full exposed bottom, so it doesn't cover up the bottom of the phone at all. Furthermore, it's fully exposed there now speaking of the Sophie Juice Pack access, it's a hard shell case with a soft silicone feel to it. Furthermore, it's not slippery on your hand or anything like that, so it does offer a pretty good grip now. Furthermore, it does also have that exposed bottom which I talked about, and that is both a good and a bad thing.
So it's a good thing because it allows you to plug in your headphones or charging cables. Your adapters, whatever you need that port is still available for you to plug into, unlike with the smart battery case, it's being occupied by the case, and the only bad thing about having that fully exposed bottom panel is that it's more likely to get lint in your iPhone speakers. You know dust and things like that, and also if it fell at the perfect angle and may Knick up the bottom of your phone. However, I did drop the phone right on the bottom just to test it out, and it didn't actually connect with the ground when I drop it. So it's fully exposed, but it's not really going to be a big issue unless it just happened to fall at the perfect angle.
Now, on the flip side, the in case treble power case is a rugged really tough battery case that was made with protection in mind. So this is the case. You're going to want to bring with you when you go on a hike or when you will just be using your phone outdoors a lot. You could probably tell through the screen that this case is pretty rugged. Now it is a thick boy, it's pretty thick, but you can see we do have the volume cutouts here.
On the left hand, side the power cutout on the right hand, side and a spot for our mute switch right there very easy to access on the back. We do have a really, really deep hole for the camera cutout, but it doesn't affect your pictures. Pictures take just normally and then on the bottom. We do have a little graphic there that says rebel, and we do also have the power button and the lights that indicate our battery and then on the bottom. You can see it's not fully exposed, but we do have cutouts for the connector and also for the speaker's there, and it is also worth mentioning that this case is really heavy.
It's kind of hard to hold for long periods of time now in terms of overall design and feel I prefer the Sophie Juice Pack access over either one of these two cases, because it's the easiest, get the phone in and out of, and also the feel of the case itself is the best it's not quite as slippery and sticky as Apple smart battery case, and it's also lightweight. So it's not near as heavy as the rebel Power case and speaking of the in case rebel power. I. Just don't like how you have to basically push below the camera, sometimes on the camera, if you're using the 10s max to get the phone out of the case, that's really the only way to get your phone out of the case, which makes it really tough and kind of annoying. It's also really bulky which isn't ideal for daily use.
Like I said it's really mostly going to be used for like outdoors and if you're really worried about protecting from drops and things like that, but it just sometimes makes your hand get a little tired from holding it for so long now. The only case that you can't wirelessly charge is also the rebel power, so both the Sophie Juice Pack access and the smart battery case allow for wireless charging. Now. Another important factor when choosing a battery case is how much capacity the battery has and also how the case functions as a whole. So Apple smart battery case is powered by the Lightning port and houses, a 13 69 William hour battery inside they claim this will get you an additional 37 hours of talk time and 20 hours of web browsing Sophie Juice Pack access, on the other hand, uses a 5 watt wireless charging coil inside the case to power the iPhone and that battery is rated at 2200 William hours.
They claim it'll net to an additional 31 hours of talk time and 16 hours of web browsing and the in case treble power also uses a 5 watt. Wireless charging coil inside the case and packs a whopping 50 to 70 Williams per battery, so definitely the biggest capacity, and they claim that it will net you an additional 36 hours of talk time and 20 hours of web browsing so very similar stats to Apple's smart battery case. So clearly, the rebel power has the biggest battery of the three and also has very similar statistics to Apple's case, but that isn't the full story. So let's discuss how these cases operate on a daily basis. So since the smart battery case was made by Apple, the software integrates with the case itself, unlike any other battery case on the market today, this means that it knows that you're plugged into the case instead of to an outlet or a wireless charger, unlike the Sophie or any other battery case, an apple smart battery case also turns on and off by itself.
So you don't ever have to worry about a switch, unlike you do on every other case. Now. One thing to note is the Apple smart battery case uses that lightning port to charge up the case, whereas the mo fee and the in case use USB-C, so there's definitely more versatility there for both charging and connecting you can also plug in headphones, and you know, charge the mo fee or the in case at the same time, whereas you can't with apples it's one or the other. But honestly that's about the only gripe that I have with Apple smart battery case and in my testing over the past couple of months. I found that the Apple smart battery case and the in case treble power lasted the longest with the Sophie dying before either one of them by a pretty good margin.
And what was surprising to me is that the Apple smart battery case actually outperformed and outlasted the rebel power, despite the rebel power having a nearly five times bigger battery powering the phone. So it was crazy, seeing the Apple smart battery case just lasting longer throughout the day than the rebel power which again has a five thousand William hour battery. So yeah overall I still think that the Apple smart battery case is the best battery case on the market for the iPhone 10 s, 10 s Macs and 10 R, but that's only if you're willing to pay that premium price tag. Now, if you want to save some money, the Sophie Juice Pack access is also a solid choice for everyday use. That also offers more versatility, because it does use that USB-C to charge up the case, and also it doesn't occupy that lightning port, like the Apple case, does now, if you're all about protection- and you want to have the biggest battery- and you don't mind the bulkiness, the in case treble power is for you.
Your phone will simply never get a scratch on it. If you use this case- and you can't really say that about either other case in this video, you also get that Lightning port access and a power on and off switch on the back, not to mention it's only 50 bucks, a significantly cheaper price than the other two cases I showed in this video, and that alone could be another reason just to choose. In case, but again like I said, it's not really ideal for everyday use. I would definitely prefer the Sophie if you're, trying to save a little of money over the in case, just because the in case is bulky, it's big and will get tiring in your hand. So that is definitely something to consider, but that's about all I have for these three cases.
These are my three favorite battery cases on the market and 2019 for the iPhone 10 s, 10 s max and the iPhone 10 R. Let me know what you guys think about these cases down in the comments section below. Do you have any of these? Are you looking to buy one of these? Let me know everything you think down in the comments section below and of course, if you guys didn't enjoy this, video I would appreciate it if you gave it a thumbs up and, of course subscribe. So you can see the next iteration of better cases that I will be doing next year, but anyways guys thanks again for watching the video, and I'll see you soon.
