Welcome back everyone: this is the end of the iPhone 7 plus in a way, and what I mean by this is essentially we're coming at the end of the iPhone 7 plus as a life cycle, and it's going to be coming to a point where you know the seven plus may not be worth buying anymore, but this is more apparent now than probably ever before. Now this is a two-way street, because typically apple does a perfect job at you know supporting their phones for a very long time, and I was estimating before I was 15 when it came out that most probably iOS 15 is going to be the last version of software that the iPhone 7 plus gets, but now that both the iPhone 6s and the 7 plus both got iOS 15. This really makes me think that this is going to be more like an iPhone, 6 and iPhone.5S type of you know life cycle rather than something different, and I was wrong before so. I could be wrong again. Potentially you know iOS 15, maybe isn't the last version of software. Maybe iOS 16 will end up coming for the iPhone 7 plus, but here's the way.
I see it. The fact that iOS 15 was a very minor update in pretty much every single way. There were no crazy features. I mean there were some cool things here and there, but there wasn't anything that really shocked me. This really makes me think that iOS 16 that may be another massive update and really the only thing apple can do to make this a much bigger update than before is adding things like an always on screen of some sort.
You know, maybe that takes up a little of battery, maybe split screen multitasking, that's another massive thing and ultimately, if apple ends up having you know to listen to the government in a way and if they have to your know, allow people to install third-party apps iOS 16 could be the one version of software that may actually end up allowing us to do that, and that is going to be the craziest thing ever if that ends up being the case. So in one hand, you know the iPhone 7 plus maybe could get supported, but the other sad thing about this device is the same thing. That apple did with iOS 15 for this device is that this phone didn't get a lot of features that iOS 15 brought, even though it could have easily supported it, and that's a very annoying thing. I never understood why Apple did that. That was very dumb, and now we're in a situation where, if iOS 16 does end up being that massive update, what features are going to be cut out for the iPhone 7 plus? Are we not going to be getting? You know the split screen multitasking? Will we not get always on display? Will we not get you know? There's a lot of things and without always on display, makes sense, because it's not OLED, but there's a lot of features that iOS 16 has to bring to make people more excited about iOS in general, a lot of people stated that iOS, you know, is at all-time low in terms of at least iOS 15.
A lot of people were kind of underwhelmed about that specific release. So we're going to have to see what happens in my opinion, I am pretty sure that the iPhone 7 plus is not going to be getting iOS 16, but I could be wrong. I was wrong before, and I'll probably be end up being wrong again here, so I guess we'll see what happens in the future, but that's essentially it if you guys have any other questions or anything.
