So, you just got your new iPad Air recently, and you're looking for the best accessories for it, but you don't know where to start. Hopefully this guide will give you an idea on what to pick up next for your brand-new iPad Air. One of the first things that we bought for the new iPad Air is the Apple Pencil I'm, not a great artist by any means I can barely draw, but it's something I definitely want to learn in the future, but the Apple Pencil is a great tool to have, even if you're, not an artist, if you're a student- and you rely heavily on your iPad to jot down notes, there are several apps you can use to take advantage of the Apple Pencil, and you can also use it to navigate through the iPad, as well as a tool to help you edit photos on a go to get those precise edits. The second thing, I'd recommend, is a screen protector. This is a glass screen protector that we bought from Amazon, and this is from AM film. Nothing super special about this other than the fact that it can save you.
A trip to the Apple Store and setting up a genius appointment because you shattered your screen. It comes with two screen protectors in case you mess up on your first try or shatter the first one, it's also incredibly affordable at just ten dollars. There are other brands you can buy from Amazon, but we think this is the best bang for your buck. The Apple Pencil also works great with the screen protector. We haven't noticed anything unusual, although we found that the Apple Pencil was a lot smoother with the screen protector on which could be a bad thing or a good thing.
If you use the Apple Pencil every day. Next up is a case that can protect your iPad from small bumps or scratches, and this is the COMO companion cover. This was actually built for the 2017 10.5-inch iPad Pro, as you can see, from the camera cutout and the speaker cutouts. Instead of having two speaker cutouts for the iPad Air, there are four and, on the back, there's a pill, shape cutout for the camera and flash found on the ten point. Five inch pro model from 2017.
Also, given the name companion cover this pairs well with our next recommendation and that's the Apple smart Keyboard, now we've talked about how great this keyboard is in our full review, which, if you haven't seen we'll link down below to reiterate what we said in that review. This is the best keyboard you can buy for the new iPad Air. It connects using the smart connector, so you don't have to pair it via Bluetooth or ever charge it and with the COMO companion cover. You've got protection for both the front and the back, which is really neat. If the COMO companion cover in mark keyboard, isn't your thing, and you want something: that'll just protect your device.
We'd recommend picking up the poetic CPU case with a built-in Apple Pencil holder. It protects both the front and back of the iPad and there's a built-in pencil holder, which is incredibly useful since there's really no other way to store the pencil other than leaving it next to the iPad or on top of it. One thing I'm not a fan of, though, are the magnets on this case. They're not super strong, so the trifold mechanism- you can usually do it Apple's own Smart Cover, is a little tough to do, but other than that. It's great now.
The last thing that we recommend is a USB, c2, lightning, cable from Anchor, as well as their 18 watt, USB-C charging brick to charge your iPad extra fast. Now this exact same setup, if you were to purchase it from Apple, would cost you around $60 or so where's. This anchor combo that we bought from Amazon set us back for around $38. Now again, all the things that we mentioned will try to link down below and/or in our written portion at Apple, Insider comm, and that's pretty much it. You got yourself a brand-new iPad and hopefully what we talked about today can help you get the most out of your iPad and if you have any other recommendations or want to see more videos like these in the future.
