Hey everybody welcome back to tech, Odyssey, so I'm back with another video and this time it's an unboxing and first impressions of the brand-new TCL 10l. So this is the light version of this, the 10 Pro. So if you haven't already seen it, I did an unboxing first impressions review all that stuff on this guy. Now we're going to go ahead and take a look at this one. So there's a lot of similarities still well under 500 bucks. This one brings in at about 250, and it still has the four camera set up on the back, albeit not as high-quality as the pro, but still has a lot to offer, so before we get into this I do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel.
I appreciate you being here. If you enjoy the video, please hit the like and the subscribe button and little notification bell. If you want updates on the lives videos, let's dive in and take a look at the 10l all right. So here we are with the TCL 10l. This is the light version in the brand new TCL 10 series.
Phones, they've got the light, the 10 pro and later on this year, they're going to have the 5g model. So this one's 250 bucks has a lot of good things going for 6.53 inch, full HD plus screen HD are 48 megapixel primary shooter, 16 megapixel selfie camera, and it has a four thousand William battery. So lots of good stuff in here. Let's go ahead and use my handy dandy, unboxing tool, I didn't have access to my regular unboxing tool. Aka knife, so I had to steal this one out of the kitchen, but just you know be safe with whatever you use so taking a look inside the box.
The first thing you're going to see here is the sim removal tool which you can do to put your SIM card in and all that good stuff, but also inside this box is a case. So TCL was kind enough to throw a free, clear case in here to throw on your phone there's all the information, Quick Start Guide the least read pieces of paper in the history of the universe, and now we have the phone itself. So the TCL 10l really is a sharp-looking phone. It's got this nice blue finish to it. It's nice and shiny and reflective.
Furthermore, it looks very much like the aura, glow colors and things like that on the note series and s 10 and 20 series devices. So it's not quite, as you know, overt and as flashy as those are, but you can see here that it definitely does reflect some rainbow color. Now you've got the four camera set up on the back there. So you've got your 48 megapixel primary shooter and in addition to that, you've got an 8 megapixel ultra-wide, and then you've got a 2 megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. So all the cool pictures you want now on the bottom you've got the speaker and the light of the USB charging port.
On the right hand, side we've got our volume rocker and our power button and a headphone jack on top. So this is a pretty complete package. You've got the speaker or the handset speaker up there, and then you can see it's got an already pre-installed screen protector and the selfie camera off. To the left there, on the left-hand side, you've got the smart key and also the SD card, our SIM card tray. So that's where all that good stuff goes and yeah, let's go ahead and power it up and see what's in the rest of the box, so inside the box here not a lot of craziness going on pretty straightforward and simple: we've got a USB-C charging cable, which goes along with the power brick.
It's not a very long power cable. So don't expect us to reach six feet. It's not not a very long, cable and also the box. We have our power brick. Now the power brick, it's not the most high power in the world.
It's a 5 volt 2 amps, which is your typical quick charge. But it's good enough to get this phone recharge and no issues and, of course, with the Snapdragon 6:65. That's in it. It's a pretty power efficient work horse, especially paired with that four thousand William battery. It should get you through the day with absolutely no problems, so you can see the screen there.
Little peephole, cut out, camera in the top left corner and then on the back. We've also got the fingerprint sensor, so here we are next to the 10 pro just so you can kind of get a feel for what they look like. The 10 L is a little wider seems like a little bulkier, not quite as sleek and fancy as the 10 pro, but this is probably the best-looking 250 bucks, fun I've ever seen, and I wanted to go ahead and demonstrate the fingerprint sensor here, real quick, so you can see I mean I'm, not looking at I'm, just registering my fingerprint on the back, but it's pretty quick, and it's pretty accurate and surprisingly- or you know not really surprisingly, once you get it fired up and get ready to use it, it works perfectly fine. Now it also has facial recognition technology. It's just a simple Fantail, simple face unlock face scanning stuff uses the camera.
You register your face. Bam looks like that took maybe like a second and a half, and then you can use that to unlock the phone as well. Now some other initial setup stuff here you can choose your dominant hand, it's not the biggest thing in the world unless you're going to use the buttons instead of the swipe gestures, so you can have them oriented which is more convenient and then the next vision display, which is what visually enhances screen HDR all that great stuff and makes it look brighter and more vibrant. So you can do that as well, but it does, you know, eat up a little more battery, and then you also get the option to choose your home screen. So if you want it, you can choose whether you have an app drawer or you don't have an app drawer.
Whichever is your preference and I actually like that, and you can go in the settings too and figure out how you want to use swipe gestures or the buttons I'll show you that in the next video- and here we have for the smart key, you can set it up for a single press, a double press and a press and hold for three individual different functions. So pretty cool, alright, so pretty cool huh. So, like I said, I recently reviewed the 10 pro, so now it's cool I got my hands on the 10 L a little later than when it came out, but better late than never right. So 250 bucks, you get the quad camera setup on the back, it's not quite as good as the one on the 10 pro, but it's also two hundred and fifty dollars versus four hundred fifty dollars. So do you really know a lot of phones out there that are gonna? Give you this kind of camera power for the 250 dollar price point.
Fingerprint sensor works nice. The facial recognition works as well as I would expect it to for a phone of this price and this caliber it seems to be pretty sturdy. Well-Made you've got the finger or the sorry the front-facing camera up there on the top left up and out of the way it's got a flat screen on it, an LCD IPS panel, as opposed to the AMOLED display on the 10 pro, so they had to cut some corners some places, but that doesn't mean that it's necessarily much more inferior. Yes, it does have 4 gigabytes of RAM, but it also has a Snapdragon 6:65, which is no slouch. I mean it's not top-of-the-line, but I mean it's better than a lot of phones, especially with some lower powered media texts or lower powered 6 series.
Processors I think that this does really check a lot of boxes for a lot of people. You can do pretty much whatever you want on here. You can do some light gaming. Furthermore, you can use it. The camera functions on here.
It's really nice TCL is in a great job with that you've got the smart key over here. You can press that, and you can configure it like. I showed you in the video, so I think it does bring a lot to the table, and they're promising that it's going to get and eleven. So it's got Android ten, guaranteeing at least Android eleven and up to two years of security updates, our security patches, so things pretty cool I'm. Looking forward to doing my full review on it and getting some time to play with it, but overall straight out of the box, I'm pretty happy with it so far, what did the set-up and, of course show it off a few things for you here.
So that's all I've got on the TCL 10l. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them down in the comment section I'll get back with you like I, said the beginning.
