So 500 TCL smartphones are coming with 5g, with a curved display and there's even a foldable phone last year at A?fe TCL debuts, their very first smartphone, the PCL flex. Now at CES 2020. Well, they basically told us that they're going to be announcing more phones at MWC this year. Oh, we have to touch a try: the phones, they shut off four devices. In total, the TCL 10l, a sub $500 smartphone, the TCL 10 Pro. Those are 500 featuring their curved AMOLED display the TCL Pen 5g.
Yes, it is 5g, it is sub $500 and finally, a TCL foldable phone okay before we get to the actual phones, just a quick disclaimer that while TCL says that this is how the phones will feel and look, the insides are still technically not the final versions. First up is the TCL 10 L, and we saw a pearly white version reminiscent of the TCL Plex and a blue version. There are four cameras on the back. It also says 14 megapixels and a macro lens there, but we're not really sure if those are the final cameras that will come to the official phones, there's a dual flash system on that camera bomb and a fingerprint scanner. We see a bunch whole selfie cameras on the side, a USB, C port and audio jacks.
The TCL 10 5g looks very similar to the TCL penlight, except it has this pretty diamond pattern. Let's look at that again and again and again, that's so pretty same four cameras on the back and dual flash, although the 5g version says 64 megapixels on the back again, not sure if that's what we're going to see on the actual phones, all we know for sure is that these phones will be so 500 dollars, and they'll run on a snapdragon 700 series chip. These are the TCL 10 pros. Now there are 2 colors that we saw. There is sort of this emerald green version and a black version both are mad, and they look really classy and feel great on the hands.
There are 4 cameras on the back and that dual flash, but these phones don't have a camera bump, so I'm really liking that it says 64 megapixels on the back as well, but again unsure. If that will be the case when these phones get launched, also notice that there is no fingerprint scanner on the back here, which leads people to believe that there might just be an in display fingerprint scanner on this thing. What's so special about the TCL 10 pros? Well, look at that display. This is the very first time that TCL is putting that waterfall display on their phones, a product of DCL sister company, which makes those panels that they put on their TVs. Basically how and why they can come up with a phone that looks like this.
With a premium screen and below $500, all three phones will officially be announced on Feb 22 in Barcelona at MWC and, yes, the phones will be available in you in Canada, starting q2 of 2020. Oh wait, there's more something really cool that we saw this TCL foldable in the flesh. Okay, first, this thing folded is really, really pretty. It sort of looks like a clutch and I feel like it'll match outfits and look at that diamond design. I, love, ya and sure that foldable screen is cool too.
It's a pretty nifty thing that uses a butterfly hinge to completely fold. The sign thing is quite unique: it's unlike the Samsung Galaxy fold, the mate X or the Motorola Razr. Some may even argue that it's actually a foldable tablet and not a folding phone. This TCL foldable phone that we got to see, isn't actually something that's coming to market, at least as you see it here now as it exists now. This is basically a proof-of-concept DCL, saying hey folks, we have a foldable phone, and it's real and people gotta touch it.
If thing is we don't even know how it's going to turn up or what and if TCL will actually release a foldable so on. All we know is that they can, that was in pre, impressed, look and getting ahead so on some TC output. I'm actually excited to see what the final versions of these phones are and I really want to see where TCL is going with their foldable phones from here at CES in Las Vegas, there's more content coming at you. You want to know more about what's going on real-time or if you want to see like just what gadgets I am working on next, you can follow me on social media. That's at CSIS it I better!
