Sony Xperia 1 III Hands On / First Look By Kohki Yamaguchi

Hello everyone welcome back to my channel. My name is Loki, and today we're going to be checking out the new Xperia one mark iii. The Xperia fits into my workflow nicely and, like everyone else, on this planet, I carry my phone with me at all times. So, knowing that I can capture beautiful images without the compromise and image quality while having full control over my settings has been an amazing experience. So far the display is the best I've seen so far, and it should be coming from Sony. The same company that produces screens and monitors for Hollywood, filmmakers and professional colorists, and knowing that the display is individually calibrated, makes it that much better and a reliable device to not only publish your work from but to also consume it.

Whether that'll be photos on Instagram or movies. On Netflix, the phone is made out of aluminum alloy and the screen is made from corning gorilla glass victim, making it resistible to most regular drops. It weighs 187 grams and has the 6.5 inch display and the world's first smartphone to have 4k HDR OLED display with 120 hertz refresh rate. It comes in purple, gray and black. This is the black one, and it comes in 256 gigabytes or a 512 gigabyte internal storage option with a 12 gigabyte of ram.

The battery is 4 500 William hour battery, which is 500 more than the previous model, and supports 30 watt fast wire charging with wireless charging available as well and there are two ports, one USB type-c and a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, something we don't see in most smartphones. These days it uses the Qualcomm snapdragon triple a 5g mobile platform, a mouthful to say but yeah. It also runs on android 11. It's also ip65 dust and iv68 water resistance up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and the sim card tray can be taken out without any tools required while maintaining water resistance and, as you can see, there are two slots, one for a sim card and another for a micro SD card which can be used for expandable storage options. Furthermore, it also features a side, mount fingerprint scanner to unlock your phone and that's great these days because we're all wearing masks, and we can't use face ID and the display is individually calibrated.

Like I mentioned, which is great for anyone really, especially those who are doing professional photography, work or cinematography work or people that are just consuming content like movies on Netflix or video content on YouTube, the sound is also 40 more powerful than the previous model, both on the 3.5 millimeter audio jack, and on the full stage stereo speakers. It's also the world's first smartphone to play and reproduce 360 reality audio on its stereo speakers. Sony is well known for their technological advancements in cameras and the Xperia 1. Mark iii was created using the same technology as the alpha 9 camerae. The phone has a 16 millimeter 24 millimeters, 70 millimeters and a 105 millimeter lens primary being the 24 millimeter, f, 1.4 secondary being the ultra-wide 16, millimeter, f 2.2 and the third lens being the 72 105 at f, 2.3 to 2.8 all being 12 megapixel cameras. The dice decoding on the lens itself contributes to exquisite, rendering and contrast by reducing reflections and is also capable of shooting in raw format as well as JPEG or both simultaneously 20 frames per second continuous autofocus is also available on all lenses throughout the 60 to 105, without any quality drop in any of the lenses.

The phone also features a dedicated shutter button, with half press available if you're a Sony alpha user, like myself, you'll, feel right at home with this Xperia 1 mark 3, and you'll have no learning curves to it whatsoever. If you're hesitant to use the photography pro feature, you can always use the basic mode, which is the same as any other smartphone okay. So let's talk about the cinematography pro because it shoots in 4k HDR at 24 frames per second all the way up to 120 frames per second, it has many color settings available like the Venice cs, which is created from the same DNA as the cinema line cameras from Sony. If you're a filmmaker you'll find that the settings and layouts are very similar with sound monitoring record time, codec battery and memory indications, as well as all the changeable settings such as color settings, focal length, white balance, focus frame rate, ISO and shutter, and the crazy thing about it is that you can even set a focus point from a to b, which you can't even do on most mirrorless cameras. The Xperia can also act as an external monitor for your filmmaking or even just photography, and it's a great way to save money and save a lot of space in your bag, because we all know we don't have that much spare cash, and we don't have enough space to put all our gears in.

We have enough lenses and camera equipments all packed and jammed into our backpacks. In conclusion, the Xperia one mark iii is a great phone for content creators and enthusiasts. The screen is 4k HDR at 120 hertz refresh rate that's individually calibrated. It has a quad-com snapdragon, triple eight 5g mobile platform. Expandable storage option is also available.

It has a 4 500 William hour battery lenses from 16 to 105, without any quality drop, 20 frames per second continuous autofocus features dedicated to professionals, 4k HDR 24 to 120 frames per second movie, recording 8 color settings available, including Venice cs, and it can be used as an external monitor personally I'll recommend the Xperia one mark iii to those who do photography or cinematography, or even just the hobbyist who are looking for a new phone and can enhance their current workflow. I think that the photography pro and the cinematography pro feature is a great way for people who are just looking into getting into filmmaking or photography and don't want to really break the bank anyways.
