Hi, my name is Christy Beth cooper, and I'm a founding member of the alpha collective. I just recently got my hands on the new Xperia one mark iii, their newest flagship phone. I switched to Xperia a couple of years ago. This is my Xperia one mark ii, so I was excited to get this one to try out all the new features that they have on it, I'm based in New York city, and I'm always running around taking pictures of everything. So it's really important to me to have very mobile cameras. It's why I switched to mirrorless on the Sony alphas, and it's also why I use my Xperia a lot to take photos.
This is definitely a top of the line. Mobile phone camera. Some things I really like about it is it has the same speed features as the alpha cameras. It has a triple array, camera and there's actually four focal lengths this time, there's a 16 millimeter, a 24 millimeter and two telephoto options, a 70 millimeter and 105 millimeters. It also has superfast, focusing which is perfect for fast moving subjects.
For instance, I just took a picture of this Roosevelt tram, speeding toward the city, and it looks like it's standing still. It's also really tough, it's protected by gorilla glass, and it's both dust and water resistant. It also has a really long battery life. So with the Xperia one mark iii, you can use the photography pro app for all the camera functions when you open it up, even if you're a novice, they have a basic mode where it looks like any other cell phone camera. So you don't even have to know what you're doing you can just point and click, and it comes out great, but it also makes it so.
You can have a lot of control over your pictures as your skills grow. What really sets this phone apart is the hardware there's no other phone on the market. With this t-coded mass glass, you can take long exposures with the camera, which I really like. I don't know of any other camera on the market. That does that.
Whatever I take on my a1, I can easily transfer onto my phone and post it online or upload it to a folder. So it's really convenient. Overall, I would say that this is a smartphone for real photographers or people who are really serious about photography. It has all the hardware and Sony. Just continually surprises me with how thoughtful the feature set is and how they really consider how you're, using the camera and again just another thoughtful feature.
You can see it's a 12 megapixel camera, but they've stepped down the megapixels as you change the ratio so that people understand exactly what they're changing when they change the settings. Well, thank you very much Sony for letting me play with this new phone. I've only had it for one day, so I'm really, really looking forward to using it more. Although I also heard it comes in a frosted purple, so I might be exchanging it for that one. If you have any questions, please comment below, or you can always go to.
