We got some news coming out of Verizon things are not uh, not good in Indianapolis, apparently probably pissed about that right, sheesh. What's up Dan, how you're doing all right, so Verizon's dealing with some pushback in Indianapolis I'll. Tell you guys all about that? I hear you Michael that's what I'm saying you know we're going to talk a little about the T-Mobile 5g hotspot deal and the device. I have a little of commentary on that and some thoughts and opinions on it. So that's another topic we'll cover.

Thank you. Dish is doing some good things. Man, they're building up the company, we'll talk about it. Today, uh I've been on dish for a while. Now, honestly, I've I've been messing with dish for a while uh.
Those who you know are part of the SMT nation know. I've been following in your know, dish for a long time, and I do a lot of updates on the Patreon side. So for those that you know, are members of the Patreon you're hip to what dish is doing, but you know we like to keep everybody updated, so I'll bring some of that to the table today as well, all right so uh without further ado. Let's start with the first bit of news, this one out of the first net. This is a t news all right now, the first net contract for a t is huge.
I don't think it can be. You know sliced any other way. A lot of people know at t as the phone company you know big shout out to Pete one of my moderators he's in there right now, big shout out to him, they're known as the phone company they've been around for over 130 years, right dating all the way back to freaking 1879 or something 1883. Nuts. Oh, I'm sorry jimmy thanks for the super chat bro.
I appreciate that super sticker jimmy you are the big homie man. Thank you so much the uh, I'm using uh Streamlabs obs for this, and it doesn't give me notification. I don't know if it's just I don't have the notifications on, or it's not configured right. So as I'm kind of like going through all my stuff, it's supposed to notify me, but it didn't. Uh that super sticker man. I appreciate you big shout out to jimmy you're the best man all right so back to the 18t piece, the uh. You know when they got the first net contract. It was pretty much a lock. They were gonna.
They were gonna, be going big time. National they're basically handed a 20 megahertz slice of low band spectrum to just deploy nationwide and what they do is they build that out, and then they use it for not only the first net contract, but they also get to use it for their consumer side, so they can. They can deploy that for anybody to use on their network. All that has to do is they create a network core for first responders, that's separate from the consumer in the business side, and they give them priority for all network elements right, especially the band 14 pieces. So this news just kind of further solidifies how good of a deal and how good of a piece to their network this whole first net thing is going to be all right, so uh at t is, is doing big things.
With this first net contract uh they've pretty much solidified their future. They are uh the provider of the first net authority's dedicated network uh, they're, investing big in the network, core network access and the network priority for first net and first responders military and so on. Anyways ATT has been granted a unique and exclusive spectrum portion. When we discuss band 14. , there was an uh.
You know a guarantee of 100 geographical coverage in the US for the first net contract, so it pretty much means ATT is going to have signal everywhere, all right, we're talking everywhere in Alaska everywhere in Montana, the whole shebang all right, they're covering the entire United States, all right and the fact that it's going to be running on its own dedicated network core tells you it's a very exclusive company. Okay. So this is the real deal anyways. We got some action, a recent meeting uh for the first net authority, and it's for a huge reinvestment into the first net core and network. So for a t, this involves pay operations and maintenance costs for the year 2021.
So it looks like they just waited till the end of the year, but this will extend beyond 2021 and into the future. So this ensures that the network and all the systems and the core are all going to be state of the art, and it's going to ensure the best possible public safety operations. For all first net customers and responders, this is going to do a few things. The first thing is: this ensures top level priority for first net users. It's also going to provide preemption and mission critical push to talk.
I actually had no idea, they were doing a dedicated national band, 14 push-to-talk network. I think I need to talk to somebody who is very close to situation. Furthermore, I don't know- maybe I just forgot- or I never paid attention to it, but we have to talk bruh. This is huge. I didn't know this was in the works.
This is great for a t. This is great for first net customers huge. What they're doing is they're working on plans and network core developments to start the transition from 4g to 5g. What they're calling resolution 108 is the initiative. The goal is that all actions are necessary to enhance and future-proof the network and transition over to 5g, the most recent upgrade in the monies exceeding 46 million in reinvestment in the near future.
These are specific to the 5g network, core parameters and developments. The first net authority, which actually was assembled in 2012, projected the network to build nationally at 50 billion dollars, and this takes it into 5g. This all started in 2019, so it looks like there's going to be a huge reinvestment moving forward of 218 million dollars, and it's going to increase over time. The 5g scaling the 5g build out all the research and development, the r d that's going into the network core, the rich just get richer. Don't they at t is already in a decent spectrum position? Mostly they just continue to.
You know get this advantage right. It's its! It's not just national coverage. It's its the other stuff too right. You know Anthony appreciate you man, that's why I do the obs to go 1080p. You know Streamlabs or stream yard unless you pay for the premium, doesn't do 1080p, but I don't like the lack of granular controls.
I like obs personally but anyways band 14 is a huge piece of what ATT is doing moving forward along with the first net deal. Let me just say this: when it comes to networking and secure networking in the future at t is in the catbird seat. For those of you that know what that means, it's their game. They have locked up all the government contracts. They've got the DOJ deal, they have the FBI deal.
That stuff is locked and loaded, they're snatching up a lot of the government contracts. The entities I've said this for several weeks: Verizon, it kind of feels like they've, abandoned the government contract angle of things. All at t had to do was get the coverage and people were going to start moving over all the military and their families. You know all the the government agencies and their families. You know all these officials they're they're all going at t.
Furthermore, you know I've been saying this for weeks: absolutely they are killing it.18 ta has transitioned quite nicely towards these contracts. They're going to continue to win the carrier to watch is actually a t. I know we make a lot of noise about you know. Verizon's got the ultra-wide band, then it's great, and you know T-Mobile is doing a lot. You know they got a lot going on.
Yeah, that's right. P at t. Has the DOD also it's its kind of their world right now, um the realignment of what they're doing with HBO Max what they're doing with media. They seem to be getting on track, they're selling off a lot of the stuff. They don't need a lot of the things that are not considered part of their business core operations, they've gotten rid of Crunchyroll um, you know DirecTV is all but gone.
You know that'll be done here in the next couple of weeks. I don't know expect something at the turn of the new year. You know in January, probably a closing deal they'll accept whatever the highest bid is for DirecTV. Some people are saying: 15 billion, I heard somebody say closer to 20 billion, we'll see they're taking an l on it, but it is going to be useful in reducing their debt and building out their network. ATT is in the cat bird seat, we're expecting them to bid big in c band.
It'll put them in a good position moving forward, they won't be spectrum, starved they'll, be in an advantage, they'll be able to compete with T-Mobile. In fact, in my opinion, with the first net deal, it puts them well beyond T-Mobile in terms of reach and coverage. So you know I'm a big fan of what ATT is doing in wireless. Put all the personal feelings aside, how you feel about their customer care and pricing and bill pay and all that other stuff, but in the wireless networking side it's its there's nothing to argue. You know, they're doing huge things that first net deal is crucial, don't be surprised if a lot of people start to feel the network coverage difference in ATT, they're just wireless.
Why is there just a different company now so nice job by them? They continue to solidify that relationship with the first net authority, good stuff, all right next piece of news. Let's talk about dish all right, so for those of you that uh have been following any dish news which may not be many of you. A lot of people have taken the stance that you know. Maybe we should kind of wait pump the brakes on dish, they're not really doing much, yet they're, not a legit player just yet um. In my opinion, these are the most fun times to watch a company as they build a greenfield network right.
Something that's never been done before here in the United States, there's a certain model for it in japan, like with raisin and some other entities there in Asia. But what they're doing is interesting. They're going completely cloud-based they're building from scratch. They don't have to follow any. You know preconceived way of building a network.
They don't have to follow at t or Verizon or T-Mobile, or any of that they build from scratch. So they're interesting. The way they're going to build out their network is fun to follow. So they got deals with VMWare mariner. You know they've got they purchased tang.
You know they changed the plans. They're they're, they're, running boost, and they've got access on the T-Mobile network, they're going to build their own they're, going national 5g they're going to do consumer they're going to do enterprise they're, actually very interesting. So the news was actually commentary coming from crown castle tower installation company them American tower. I mean some of the biggest names in tower installations: nation, uh nationwide, so dish wireless they've got a deal with uh with crown castle, they've had it for a while. It's been a couple of weeks, at least maybe, maybe four or five weeks, but we got some commentary from crown castle and uh they're going to be a big hitter for dish.
Wireless they're going to be the tower site, installer and builder for dish on a grand scale, it'll be mostly their action. The crown castle CFO boasted about the relationship at the Barclays conference. Today, dish has referred to crown castle as their quote. Anchor infrastructure partner on the tower side- and this is very meaningful chrome castle- will be a big part of dish's build. I think it's pretty clear that they're going to be the heavy lifter dish will be going through them.
So if you are following any type of investment into tower companies, crown castle looks like a decent investment. I know they just laid off 250 workers, but that seems to be a common trend. During the pandemic, so I don't know- I don't know if that's something I need to like emphasize about 2020 or whatever the case may be, so here's what crown castle has and here's why dish probably picked them number one crown castle. Has scope. They've always been perfect about this.
The scope in terms of how they do their tower builds specific positioning prime sites. That sort of thing right, they've got that on lock. Item number two: is the urban skew the thing about urban and a lot of people here understand? Is urban America accounts for a huge population of people in this country? You can't, you can't overstate how important urban is over.80 percent of the United States residents live in the top markets in the U. S. I know I'm not trying to poo poo people that live in rural America.
They need coverage too. They need a network also. But it's important that you understand that when 80 percent or more of the US population live in the city, they get emphasis and that's what crown castle do they emphasize the urban setting? They have prime real estate, they have prime sites, and they offer a holistic solution. As a tower company install installation, company they've got the top 100 markets, they can scale. They've got prime locations they're the company to make the deals with American tower.
Is a good company there's nothing wrong with them. I'm not putting down any other company. I'm just saying, like a t, is in the cat bird seat, moving forward with the first net authority contract crown castle's kind of in the cat bird c2 they've positioned themselves, well to offer prime locations for sights and dishes all in, so crown castle has 48 000 tower sites nationwide, all in really, really important places right. Furthermore, I think it's estimated over two-thirds of their tower sites are in the top 100 markets. Furthermore, I think it's closer to 70 percent.
That's very substantial. That means most of their tower sites are in critical locations for capacity and service to a lot of people. So this is crucial and key for dish. They really did not have a better option than to really emphasize crown castle. So this is looking good for crown castle.
If you're an investor, this is a good deal. If you are, you know a dish fan or something like that. This is good as well, I'm guessing that the shares probably fluctuated a bit in the favor of dish and crown castle, but here's my takeaways from this news number one dish is going to build from the inside out inside big markets outwards to the more extended regions and areas now most networks build this way right. That's how that's what T-Mobile is doing with their capacity needs they're, starting in bigger markets wherever they have the most market share, and they're building outwards. So that's typically what they do.
It's also the easiest way for them to reach their FCC concessions like if they're going to reach all of those goals that they have to hit. This is probably the best way for them to do it at a decent time frame, so we expect to see them reach their deadlines. Based on this approach, I think that's fair to say my second takeaway is actually, I think, we're going to start to see, although it may be very late in 2021. I just want to say that we may see some markets at the end of 2021 limited roll out, but measurable. You get what I'm saying.
I think we're gonna start to see a couple markets here and there Novembers Decembers get what I'm saying. I think we're gonna start to see some really nice market development for dish. So it's going to be your new works. It's going to be your Chicago's, your San Francisco's, your Washington DC, your Miami, where dish plans to start big is going to be those cities so expect that so the rest of them more national 2022. Maybe that means pump the brakes for where you're located.
But if you're thinking about dish as a provider wireless provider, you might have to wait unless you're in a big city. The third thing is, I think this is going to continue to emphasize dish's leverage on the T-Mobile network, so they can kind of get things going. I think this is going to be a big year when they're going to lean heavily upon T-Mobile to run their post-paid service. I think we're going to see that T-Mobile is going to continue to offer more capacity they're going to upgrade a lot of 2.5 sites that way they can serve all these customers. Furthermore, I mean it benefits them they're, going to be charging dish for access, so yeah.
It makes total sense, but yeah expect post paid service from dish very, very soon. We're going to see some stuff in the upcoming future. Good stuff, good stuff, oh definitely put Boston in there. Michael absolutely definitely put Boston in that. In that conversation for sure it's nice having the mini fridge down here, man, cold beverage, hashtag tremendous, absolutely alright.
So that was the dish news. What else do I have for you guys tonight? Ah, Verizon got some Verizon news. I think we got a little of every carrier today. This is good. We, like balance all right next piece of news.
This one out of verizon's 5g expansion has been well documented by myself, as well as other content creators, uh they've been deploying 5g ultra-wideband at a maddening pace. They're spending tons of money they've got a good system right. The uh the nodes are becoming more affordable and easy for them to deploy pretty much. The only thing they have to do is make sure that they kind of lock in the deals with the cities to kind of make this happens all right. So that being said, we have more pushback, surprise, surprise, cities getting in the way of Verizon trying to make the network better.
So this is a millimeter wave, node installation problem that is going on in Indianapolis Indiana. We have two issues in this ongoing saga between the city of Indianapolis, their residence and Verizon. Before I give you the details on this, I just want to let you guys know that Indianapolis was one of the first Verizon ultra-wideband cities in the United States, so they were, I would say, more of an ally than anything you get. What I'm saying like I'm, I'm kind of surprised at this happening, but then again I'm not because you know people, you know how they are about their property and their property value and all that stuff. So the two issues here is on a local and state regulation level.
Indianapolis city residents are pushing back on federal mandate, in which there's been new policy by the FCC that enables companies like Verizon and at t and T-Mobile to basically deploy on demand. They basically have to approve, within a certain time frame. Cities can't sit there and lollygag, and lets the stuff, sit on the desk and not get approved right, so they're having problems with Indianapolis, okay, so Verizon's pissed, but the policy is designed to expedite the approval process. So these cities and municipalities really don't have a leg to stand on. So, in my opinion, I think this is probably going to end up in court.
The neighborhood residents are basically saying that these things, these nodes are unsightly, and they don't want them. The problem is, is all these petitions are coming in from these residents and Verizon's? Like look the rules? Are there the policies? Are there we're going to install these things? We have a right to do so right, so um, I don't know they're getting pushback from residents. I think out of the 54 zones or neighborhoods that Verizon had filed to do these installations. I feel like Verizon has only had about 10 or 12 accepted and approved, which is concerning because, when you put in for all of that, you, like your conversion rate to be a little higher if you're, converting 10 to 12 out of 54 applied, you know you're shooting like 20, it's not very good. So this is a problem.
Anyways Verizon's response to all of this was seen you in court. They basically told you know these the city and all these people, yeah we'll see you in court following guidelines, laws and regulations. Verizon can argue that their network needs the capacity and the customers have to be served. So, unfortunately, I think the city's going to lose Verizon is going to win. That's what the know.
The federal guidelines say: Verizon already has like a thousand small cells, macros and millimeter wave nodes deployed in Indianapolis. They have a strong relationship clearly right. So I'm really surprised by this honestly uh looks like the nodes are up pretty high. You know I looked at some pictures for the installations they're not like in the way unsightly they're, actually like 50 feet up. So when I compare that to the build and deployment I see in the CLE here in the CLE, the nodes are like 30 feet up, so these are even higher, which means they're, even more so out of the way.
So I'm not really sure what they're pissed about anyways the residents are claiming that this is decreasing their value of their homes and their neighborhoods and uh. That's really the issue um, there's some old city ordinances. I understand that are from like the 1970s that indicate that companies have to do like underground, wiring and some other stuff or whatever Verizon remains willing to negotiate with the city. They do want to make deals, and they want to operate in good faith. I just don't know if these people are really willing to do it.
If you see the thing is, if you're going to play, hardball with Verizon they've got the FCC in their back pocket. FCC made these deals, they're the ones who regulated this process they put together. The policy, so what are you really arguing here like it's its to their advantage? What's up Ryan good to see you man, I just don't know they don't really have elected to stand on. I think Verizon comes out the winner here. If the city wants, they should look to make a deal, maybe cash out a little or something get some money.
What's up William good to see you hey you ain't lying Barry, I'm with you yeah, Anthony I'd, never heard that before I don't know what these people are thinking. Anyways, that's Verizon news uh! This has been an ongoing problem. We saw T-Mobile going through the same thing in San Francisco. People want better cell phone service, but they don't want the pains that come with it like the installations of the nodes, the improved infrastructure, the investment into the tower sites. I don't know I really don't.
I don't know what they expect. You just want like magic to happen. You just want improved cell phone performance without macro site upgrades and additional nodes installed. I don't know, what's up Jamil good, to see you bro yeah, I don't know what their expectation is all right, so we covered dish with covered Verizon, and we covered ATT. Didn't we good stuff? I got two pieces for T-Mobile all right.
Let's talk the T-Mobile hotspot, stuff, okay, good stuff here, good stuff, so the T-Mobile 5g hotspot situation. This was news that broke yesterday. I believe yesterday morning or something the uh T-Mobile 5g hotspot has two pieces to it. They've got a new hotspot plan, and they have a new piece of hardware: a new 5g, hey what up jimmy the uh, the insego 5g might m2000. That's the name of this hotspot device.
So we've got this new 5g compatible hotspot with a new plan where it's going to leverage two types of 5g, their low band 5g, which is the 600 megahertz variety and 71, and then the mid-band 5g variety, which is 2.5, gigahertz and 41. The device itself will cost 336 dollars. For the time being, I guess it's on sale for half off it is Wi-Fi 6 compatible. It is USB charged, which is good. The plan valued at 50 per month gets you 100, gigs of high-speed data.
I don't know what happens after 100 gigs of high-speed data. Unfortunately, I could not find the details I'll look for that, though, I'm not sure if it falls back or just. You know if it goes to like 2g or 3g or something or if it just gets cut off, I'm not sure, but it does connect to all the LTE bands on the T-Mobile network, including sprint components and uh all their 5g except millimeter wave. It does not connect to millimeter wave, no n260, no n261, oh okay, so it does fall back to 2g speeds. That's trash all right that sucks anyways! You can connect to up to 30 devices simultaneously the service plan and the device are available as of December 13th, which would be what like two days from now all right.
Oh that's, cool news. Zachary hit me on Twitter bro to be something I'd want to. Maybe dm me that link man I'd take a look at that that press release so right now they got 50 off on the hardware for that device. Uh. That makes a little more attractive, a better value proposition, I'm a little confused.
I'm not sure why they didn't include the layer cake. They only got two layers of the cake on there, no millimeter wave. So I don't whatever not sure why I guess they wanted to keep the cost down, so they didn't put it in there. They don't really have much millimeter wave anyways but whatever. In my opinion, there is some good here, honestly yeah, I'm going to get to that in a second jarred, all right, so number one the good thing best in the market, hot spot plan.
I think when it comes to comparing it to like what Verizon offers and what a t offers. I don't think anybody does it better than T-Mobile for this particular plan. So I'm a big fan of that part. The one thing that I don't like outside that, though I mean I don't- want to make it sound bad, because it is a good. It's like a good value.
Nobody else has 100 gigs at 50 bucks a month if you're willing to put on autopay at least, but it's a limited time offer, which means they're, not keeping it long-term once you get it you're allowed to keep it for as long as you want, but it's its a limited time offer, which means, I think, they're gonna. Once they start building out the network, more they're going to increase the pricing on it. So, and you got to keep in mind, it's not subject to the regulations from the DOJ and the FCC and the merger deal. That is all for the old plan pricing, but the fact that it's a limited time offer that kind of sucks what happens to the price later? What happens to the amount of data later? Who knows the pricing's only got on autopay. So if you're not a fan of autopay, it might be 60, I'd, say or something like that.
Also don't like the fact that it's going to be capped at 480p for video resolution, I mean, if you're, using this on a laptop or, if you're, using this on a tablet or an iPad. You want 1080p video you're going to have to run a VPN right, they're, not giving you. You know 720p or even 1080p, for that matter, that's kind of a pain and also the fact that they slow you down to 2g. After that's, that's kind of bad least they could do is give you one megabit per second, keep it functional right, so it's kind of stupid. I actually think there's some bigger issues in this announcement, because we started to see some new branding happening kind of like a new 5g branding for T-Mobile uh.
Nothing really seems to be working for them. I'm gonna, I'm gonna, get to that in a second anyways um they started identifying different parts of their network with different naming schemes. So extended range is what their low band n71 600 megahertz is and then their ultra capacity 5g is their mid-band. N41, 2.5 gigahertz, hear me and hear me good. There is nothing ultra capacity about mid-band at channels of 60 megahertz, nothing.
Every time, I've connected to n41, I've, I've connected to three or four sites in the CLE. It's been between 200 and 300 megabits per second I've connected to at t and Verizon sites on LTE and gotten those speeds. There is nothing ultra capacity about 60, megahertz channels. T-Mobile is going to have to upgrade that channel bandwidth. If you're going to call it ultra capacity, it's going to have to pick up.
I don't know when they're going to do that. You know I don't I don't know um. You know they got to get on standalone 5g to probably really optimize it. Furthermore, you know and widen those channels, so maybe sometime next year, but to already try to call it something that it's not it's. Just a bad look, T-Mobile's literally trying everything nothing is working.
They are trying to get the public to care about the types of 5g they have and people just don't they just don't care they're, trying to give it naming they're trying to give it branding its ridiculous. Yes, Tim, yes, beefcake! That's right, T-Mobile is saying, expect speeds between 300 megabits and one gigabit per second on the ultra capacity 5g. They don't really have much millimeter wave they're going to have to kick that up. They don't really have a true capacity layer. Furthermore, they really don't have the channels aren't wide enough yeah.
I don't know pa tech speed test. I just don't know. If that's going to happen, I don't know we haven't seen it, yet we'll have to wait and see anyways when they name it like this. I can only think of one thing: this is a new T-Mobile. Don't be surprised if we see a future that has different tiers of pricing for 5g access in the form of features and add-ons like new network slicing and PCI.
That's going to be coming with the new network core for 5g, don't be surprised if people are going to be paying for a specific type of 5g access on their standalone 5g network core in a couple of years, because the DOJ and the FCC concessions are only valid for the first three years post-merger. So you started the clock april 2020. So april 2023 it's over, they can do whatever they want with pricing, so be careful, they're already branding their 5g, and they're building it to price it separately. I'm just saying there. It looks like that from the outside, I'm not guaranteeing that it's going to happen.
I've kind of already predicted this having discussions with people that are kind of in the know. They give me that impression. That's what it sounds like, although I really hope they don't do that. It's just the network builds, are expensive, T-Mobile's about to dump big money into this whole mid-band thing, oh yeah, last thing and uh. I don't know how long we've been running here, we're like 43 minutes in pretty good show.

Here's why I have concerns about T-Mobile they're, really, really starting to reach they.
I don't think they know what they want to do with their naming and their branding appreciate it Anthony. Thank you. If you watch Neville ray on Twitter or mike sievert on Twitter or any of these T-Mobile reps, and these executives and the marketing team, and all of that, it's a marketing machine, but they literally don't know how to make this 5g branding thing work. It's its! It's an absolute failure, all right, they're, trying so hard to figure out something. That's gonna work with the public.
They have been unable to it. Just hasn't turned out well for them. They've been trying with the whole layer cake thing, and it hasn't really worked. Um their low band 5g that they've been. You know broadcasting about and bragging about.
It's its slow right. It's its low capacity, 10 15, 20 megahertz tops right. Furthermore, it's just. Furthermore, it can't be fast, there's no channel bandwidth, so they can't do fast on low band, their ultra-high capacity layer doesn't exist. The millimeter wave is limited.
It's in like a handful of markets, there's not much of it uh. What they're now going to call their ultra capacity is mid-band again it's its early in its deployment. They just made the merger happen in April. They still need time to deploy. I hear they're hitting their stride in some places, not really hearing the CLE, but you know Tyrone has disclosed that they've done big things in El Paso, and they hit the ground running in filly and New York and all this other stuff um, but they're marketing the whole like nationwide 5g bragging.
It's not doing anything for them. It really has not converted into market share transitioning. They haven't really taken Verizon customers. They haven't really taken ATT customers on their 5g network premise. So, in my opinion, when I look at like four different ways, they're trying to brand their 5g, it tells me that the layer cake thing was a failure like the whole layer cake, Betty Crocker, it's just ridiculous.
It just didn't work and the reason I know it is that they're trying other stuff now like several things. So if the layer cake was a failure, the whole Betty Crocker, the aprons, the pastries yeah Eugene's tripping Neville, doesn't know what to do about this they're now, resorting to other stupid analogies now they're playing golf. They literally got golf clubs, and they're tweeting about it. They got putters and six irons and drivers, so I'm guessing putters is what putters are millimeter wave good from short distances or something the six iron. What are they talking about like mid-band or something? Is that mid-band six irons cause like you use it on the fairway? Then they got the drivers right long range.
So that's that must be the low band. How many T-Mobile customers actually know and play golf. I just don't see golf as like a T-Mobile customer thing who's connecting to that example. I don't know, so they're they're, basically just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks the layer cake failed. Now they're going to golf, that's like the most recent one I'd.
Actually, I'm probably going to take a poll on Twitter. If you don't follow me on Twitter, hit me up at snatch. I'm I'm gonna. Do a poll. I've also seen paint brushes, they're doing paint brushes, they got the roller, they got the regular brush, and they got freaking the detailed brush, so the roller brush, I'm guessing, is for doing large parts of the wall.
The regular brush is the mid-band, so the roller brush is the low band, and then they got the detailed brush. That's the that's the millipede. What is going on? Oh, man! This is crazy. Nothing's working, oh guys, they're doing boats now, yeah they're doing boats, they got jet skis yachts and cruise ships. So I think the jet skis is millimeter wave.
I think yachts are mid-band and cruise ships is low band. I think if that makes any sense. Oh, this is the best I got another one. I'm not finished, there's one more all right: they got dinosaurs, you all, brontosaurus, T. rex and velociraptors.
So a brontosaurus is the low band. The T. rex is the mid-band and the velociraptor is the millimeter wave. Is that what we're doing now? I got dinosaurs, all right! Look if, if you're, if you're a kid all right, so I got a four-year-old. If your kid likes dinosaurs, you could read them the T-Mobile 5g coloring book.
You get what I'm saying guys. The T-Mobile 5g marketing has degenerated into a cartoon puzzle book. We got dinosaurs, we got boats, we got paint brushes. We got race, cars, trucks- I don't. I don't know.
What's going on yeah, you could do the planes right, so it'd be like it'd, be like the charter plane, you know, and then it would be like the private jet. You know like this is getting insane. Meanwhile, Verizon is winning 5g and the reason I know Verizon is winning 5g. All you got to do is watch NFL football on Sundays. Hashtag 5g, built right is all over NFL Sundays.
It's trending on Twitter. It's all over the place. Furthermore, it's on every commercial! I just that's all I see I'm watching the browns on Sunday, I'm watching the NFL afternoon games. I'm watching the evening games the games at night. It's all Verizon 5g.
It's all 5g built right. Furthermore, it's all 5g ultra-wide band nationwide, 5g plus high capacity demon. I think you're right Verizon marks confidence. I think you're right, I they just they've they've gone all in on one branding, and they've dumped a bunch of advertising dollars into it, and they're just going with it, and they're just going to drive it all the way home they're going to force the issue just like they force the issue with ultra-wideband they're, going to force the issue with the marketing they've hit the most important sport in America. They have the relationships in the stadiums with the ultra-wide band.
People can use it and test it there. It all works. The unfortunate thing here is it's working for Verizon, but it's not working for T-Mobile their branding, their advertising and their approach to 5g is not resonating with the public. I just I'm concerned in that. If they keep throwing stuff at the wall, they're indicating that it's not working investors see that.
So, if mike sievert is trying to convince people to invest in his company, and they're doing the right things, I mean: what's this telling them? That's my concern because, right now, that's all T-Mobile cares about investment into the company, so they can have the dollars for building up their 5g network. I just feel like we're in a situation where T-Mobile has a lot of potential, and they're going to need to execute it's imperative that people, the public, believes in what they're doing T-Mobile might have a great 5g outlook. We have to see how they execute, but if people don't believe in them, if the investors, the money that goes into the companies, if they don't believe it, then it's all for nothing guys. In my opinion, mid-band is going to help a lot more people in terms of space than ultra-wideband. I think that's evident, but it doesn't matter when the public believes in Verizon, because their marketing makes sense, and it's executing well.
The investors are going to put the money in whom they believe in they don't waste their money. So when mike sievert comes out and says you know hashtag Eugene, when he comes out and says: Verizon won LTE, but we're going to win 5g, you have to prove it. You've got to convince people of that and as of right now, I still think Verizon has the mind share in 5g.18T doesn't really have an identity in 5g and T-Mobile's got dinosaurs and boats and paint brushes and cake, and it's not working- it's not really resonating with people. So, unfortunately, that's the story, and I'm sticking to it. My concern is: is that T-Mobile is not getting people to buy in the public, does not care or understand or want to care, or want to understand the differences in 5gs Zach? That might be the way to go fast, secure and nationwide fast.
It's got to be a huge upgrade from 4g LTE secure, because people understand that in 2020 they want things locked down and not to be compromised and nationwide makes sense. They want it everywhere. They go totally makes sense. I don't know- maybe, maybe one of these examples. Eventually catches on we'll have to see anyways um I'd like to hear your take for those of you that are here in the live.
Obviously, you've been chatting I've been kind of reading some stuff. You guys have been writing you know, so your banter back and forth is greatly appreciated. Uh. So thank you for being a part of that conversation. I'm again, these are just conversation pieces.
I'm not trying to your know, stir up the pot or anything like that, but I'm just I'm looking at the advertising prowess of Verizon. It just seems like they're doing it. Big, I feel, like ATT, is kind of one foot in one foot out with 5g in terms of their approach. They kind of want to do ultra-wideband, but not all the way they kind of want to do low band, but not all the way. I don't know you know they kind of have a little of T-Mobile in them and a little of Verizon in them, but it's not really all in one way or the other we'll have to see what they do with c band that'll be really important same thing with Verizon, we'll have to see what they do with c band they'll be able to bolster consumer wireless, and things like that.
