The Galaxy Z Flip feels like one of those cool concept cars that you see. Yeah, it looks like it will be good, but is it really good? Well kinda it's not bad, it's just a cool concept right now. And in today's video, we are going to quickly go over 5 things that I want Samsung to add to the Z Flip, to make it a phone that I would recommend to someone looking to upgrade.1, Better Battery Life. Phones that flip, have one thing in common, a flipping terrible battery capacity. The Original Galaxy Flip and 5G both had 3300 mAh battery, this would be lucky to get you 8 hours of battery on a normal day. I mean this fared better than the Motorola Razr with its 2510 mAH battery.
Now I get it, the screen folds the battery doesn't so it won't be as big as some others. But 8 hours is not enough. If I have to charge my phone 2 a day, at the start when the battery is at its best, then I'm sorry we have a real problem here. Samsung sort this out, increase the battery size, lower the battery consumption. It's not a mobile phone if it needs to be plugged in to charge the whole time.2, More Affordable We all know that flip is still in its infancy. Early adopters are basically beta testers and I thank you for your service.
But if it ever wants to get out of beta, then the price needs to come down. Every day people are not paying 1,500 for a phone, even for a phone that flips. Samsung needs to decide where this product is placed in its lineup and it needs to figure it out soon.3, Enhanced Durability Now the original flip did not feel flimsy, but I don't know I ever felt safe. When you spend more than a grand on a phone, I want it to feel secure in my hand. If Samsung could make it feel more sturdy, without adding too much bulk, as it still needs to fit into my pocket.
I know I ask a lot but so does Samsung at the till.4, Better Second Screen The tiny screen on the front of the flip was almost pointless. It did not give me anywhere near enough information. The whole point is to provide me with enough information so I don't need to open it. The screen served the same purpose as a notification light. So Samsung, turn this gimmick into something we can use, please.5, Better App Support Now I don't know if I can pin this all on Samsung, Google and App developers will need to hold their hands up too. But I'm buying this phone with a USP, being it flips, but if none of the apps utilize or even support this, then it's all pointless.
I get it, it's a new technology, that hasn't got widespread acceptance from the mainstream, but chicken and egg and I want an omelet Samsung. Now, this is a wish list, I hope Samsung takes on board what we want. Let's be honest they would probably wish for all these things themselves. If they could click their fingers to do it, it would be done. Let's hope the Galaxy Flip 3 goes above and beyond.
