Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Vs Active 2 Vs Galaxy Watch Vs Gear S3 Vs TickWatch Pro Vs Huawei Watch GT 2

Everybody and welcome back to the channel in today's video we're going to do 24 hours, impressions of the brand-new galaxy watch.3. I've had the watch for literally about 24 hours. I set it up. Furthermore, I connected it to my device and of course this is the watch that was announced just earlier this week during unpacked by Samsung. A lot of cool things were announced during that week, but the watch is actually finally here. So let me go ahead and share with you guys what to expect if you decide to pick it up, but not only that, I want to explain and also show some comparisons to some earlier generations of galaxy watches that we've had here in the US.

This is TK, and this is the galaxy watch 3. Like and subscribe and make sure you hit that bell icon so that you're always notified to whenever we have new videos on the channel. So what I have in front of us is, of course, some different watches, so we have the galaxy watch three here. The galaxy watches the gear s3. This is the tic watch pro and, of course, we have a couple of versions of the Huawei watch and the reason why we're missing the band here is because the band that came with the galaxy s watch 3 here was actually a leather band, a leather brown band and genuine leather band on both sides and for me trying to use this and go into the water.

It's definitely not something that I would be able to use. If I want to be able to use the genuine leather band. So I'll put this one on the side, and I ended up actually using the one that came with the uh watch here, the one from Huawei. It is very nice and the fact of the matter is, it is replaceable they all use for the most part, the same uh band, so I'm able to interchange them and customize them. This is part of the problem that I have.

I actually have a massive collection of watches, of course, all of our smartwatches and provide a slightly different experiences. The two watches on the far right are the Huawei watch, and they're running. Basically, uh proprietary software from Huawei for their watch system. Both of them are actually more like fitness, trackers and, more so than actual smartwatches. Because of the functionalities, we don't have ways of actually installing applications or changing the watch faces beyond, what's already built into them and of course the other thing is that we can actually no, we don't have a way of responding back to notifications.

The tic watch pro is one of the watches that I've been using for some time, and it is unique because the fact of the matter is this is one of the few watches on the actual table or even on the market. That supports two displays that one display that you see here the monochrome display and, of course, the color display that turns on whenever we need access to it, and this provides us the ability of actually getting some perfect functional options. This does come in LTE as well as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and this one is the Bluetooth version. It has one gig of ram with five or four gigs of internal storage and which is one of the main options, and this one runs a Qualcomm processor. This is running a Huawei processor and, of course, when we switch over to Samsung watches, we are actually now running Samsung processors as well as ti zen as far as the operating system uh.

The main features that we get here is actually the evolution of what we get here, there's also a third version of the watches that I don't have on my table, which is the active 2 that was released last year. That was the one watch that we actually lost, that spinning crown that we have functioning here on all the watches that you see here, those that function was always one of my favorite ones. This is the gear s3, and this one is actually the LTE model. I actually reset that right now and, as you can see, this is one of the main selling features that I really appreciate about it. It has a heart rate, sensor, perfect configuration and, of course, replaceable bands same way, and what we have here is the successor to that was, which is the galaxy watch now the galaxy watch did not transfer having a darker option here, which is what we normally have.

It ended up going with the silver and black, so same thing, configuration works, perfect large battery large watch, and it really definitely has and holds up really well over time. Replaceable bands as well uh bottom light the microphone as well as a speaker for conference calls and, of course that takes us into the brand-new galaxy watch. Three. Now the galaxy watch three comes in two different sizes. We get a 45 millimeter and a 41 millimeter and, as you can see, the packaging or the package that the box comes in is actually pretty light.

You get the watch, you get the charger as well as a couple of booklets. Surprisingly, the charger is actually the exact same charger that you usually get with the galaxy active 2. So from the standing and what you get here, you can also charge your device by the way, with most Samsung devices that support reverse wireless charging. So if you have that this will work, they also, if you do, sell some power banks that are available directly from Samsung that also support charging for these watches. So you don't necessarily have to use a just one charger, there are many ways of charging it.

My favorite feature obviously, is charging it from my phone. So then I don't have to actually even carry a charger with me. Just flip the phone over plug the phone into the wall and of course you can charge it from there. So first off we'll start with the comparison between the galaxy watch 3 and the active 2. As you can see, the design is definitely very different.

The active 2 is very understated. It's very minimalistic. There is no spinning mechanism, the actual spinning crown or the option of spinning around the actual UI is done digitally by just holding your finger and swiping around the actual outer ring of the actual watch made the watch a little smaller and I felt like this wasn't necessarily as if it didn't follow the same aesthetics as what we've seen with some other watches, specifically men's style watches. Now, when we switch over to the galaxy watch three, this one now obviously carries over what we've seen in the past. Personally, I feel like it's somewhere in between what we got with the s3 with the gear s3 and, of course, the galaxy watch.

The screen itself is actually pretty nice, it's big, and again we do have that spinning crown, although not as wide as we had it on the previous two versions. So it learned a little from the galaxy active one. Overall, the display is very good you're able to swipe through your notification, your screens, you don't actually have to use the crown or the spinning screen, but definitely really appreciate it. A single press from the top takes us home on the bottom. If I double press, I'm able to initiate Bixby I'll go ahead and go home and, of course, if I press it once it takes me trade into the actual app drawer.

So this is all the applications that we have installed and again. This is one of the really cool things' ability of actually swiping around and going around the UI. As I mentioned to you guys, the bands are replaceable. We have a heart rate monitor and a few additional sensors, unfortunately in the US, are not active at the beginning, or at least at launch so uh. The ECG option, as well as some of those integrated functionality with Samsung health, are going to be coming out uh later on, as a subtraction update to the watch, but the watch itself for the most part works as what we've had in the past.

Um connection to blue over to an android device is going to work absolutely the best uh, obviously Samsung devices or android devices will work. This exact same way. You do need to download an application, and we'll get a chance to check that out, but the overall experience where you're getting here again, there's a 45 and a 41 millimeter version of this watch uh. It is running a 1.4 inch display and again one gig of ram and eight gigs of internal storage with a 340 William battery uh battery built-in there's a Bluetooth and a LTE model so depending on which one you want, of course, there's the silver or the black one. So the black one or the silver will look pretty much like a two-toned watch and if you want to get the black one you're pretty much just going to get one color and of course everything else looks the exact same way.

Now we do have a mil-spec 810g compliance here as well as an ip68 rated. So it means we should be able to actually put this in water up to one meter for 30 minutes without any issues so swimming with. This will not be a problem. The blood pressure monitor again, as some of the other features that they talked about, will definitely be coming out in an update very soon, and you, of course, have the ability of customizing your uh, your actual watch face with different options, so those are the ones that are pre-installed on the watch, and we get a lot more options in the actual UI when we get into the actual app on the phone now. One thing I'd like to set up for you guys is the ability of actually organizing our widgets, so these are widgets, I'm able to delete them scroll through which ones I have, but I'm also able to organize them straight into the watch.

So you notice right there. I can actually move it, put it around and put it in whatever spot. I want all the way down to basically being the first window that I have there. One of the really cool things that I really like about this is the ability of actually integrating this directly with any music app. That's running on our phone.

So I'll give you an example here, we'll say open app and the one thing that I really appreciate of what we get here is, which is a little better than what we get with uh, even just normal uh android wear, that's the functionality of actually having the windows or the images of the actual album art coming out. Really quick. I'm able to open up the app itself swipe up from the bottom and go through the actual playlist, that's playing and by the way we are using. This is actually googled play music straight off of my Samsung s20, ultra, so really nice and, of course, I'm able to go back home swipe away and go to different options on the actual screen, and it works really nice most of the customizations can be done from the watch, but to get the best experience, we do need to switch over to the actual app on the phone for a little of a close-up here. You can definitely see here.

This is the galaxy watch as well. We have different faces on both press and hold. Both of them are customized, and both of them should be running very soon. A similar software packages, both supporting two buttons again, the same way with the galaxy fit two and, of course, we have the bottom firing uh sensors, as well as the fact that we have the speaker and the microphone present all the way on the bottom overall, I think the one thing that I would appreciate is the fact that we have options. We can actually get one that is either straight black or dual tone.

The way we have here with the galaxy y, when we compare it to the gear s3, we can definitely see a lot more resemblance here again. The crown here or the spinning face is actually a lot smaller and a lot thinner. So, even though we get the same size display we're, definitely getting more of a fine-tuned experience here same thing: two buttons configurable, both of them supporting contactless payment through Samsung, pay same way with the other watches from Samsung. So all of these things will work the exact same way when we compare it to the tick watch pro. We can see that some differences obviously is here.

We have dual displays. Android wear running here, as well as the fact that we have ties in here now. Both are intended to work with both android and iOS. The same way we have most of the watches on the market, but the difference essentially, is that the aesthetics here look very close. We don't have a spinning face here, that's something that we don't have present on the other side.

But again, as you can see here, the difference between the two is. I can actually pretty much see what the actual album art looks like right there, where, on the actual uh android, wear it's a little harder, it's obscured by the name of the album. So I feel like it's a little better presence here, but again works perfect and of course one thing we can do is control the volume here. So that gives us access directly into here, and I can also control. Where does the music actually play? I can play directly on the watch, or I can play it on the phone, and it'll work.

The exact same way, we have eight gigs of internal stores, as opposed to four gigs of internal storage and again there's a LTE and a Bluetooth version of both these watches. So when we compare them to the Huawei watch, the galaxy watch three definitely has a slightly different experiment. Here is really a smartwatch that you are able to respond, install applications and do many things from the phone normally without necessarily having to access your phone. The Huawei watch does a lot of functionalities as far as aggregating our notifications, it is getting better, and we've seen many updates again. This is the first version, and now we can see the second generation of the whitewater watch now the display is definitely a lot bigger, but one thing to mention is that the Huawei watch is not a smartwatch.

It really works more like a fitness watch that is in the shape of a regular smartwatch. The reason behind that is, it works great at giving us notifications, but responding notifications is not functional. We also have no way of installing applications or installing additional faces or watch faces from what we have preloaded directly on the watch. Battery life is perfect. We can get up to almost two weeks worth of battery life, but again that's more consistent with fitness bands, not necessarily smart, watches, and then.

Lastly, as I mentioned, the UI and everything all the updates, the new features that we talked about as far as the ECG uh. Of course, the blood pressure and all of those things will be coming as part of an update that. But this right now works great with most android devices as well as iOS, and what that means is we do need to download the where application. This is the uh kind of like the configuration app that we use directly from Samsung, first and foremost, you'll notice. This out of the box tells you the time and how many days of battery life is expected to go.

We have uh 65, and I have about a day and eight hours left to go. We're able to customize our notifications, of course, to which app is sending notifications and how to turn them on you're, also able to go in and customize your quick responses. So that's going to be the basically. If you get a message or something like that or a call, you can hang up the call and send a quick response. You do have to set up they do not disturb, as well as the notification indicator on the actual watch.

So you can turn that on bottom center, bottom right or bottom left and of course you can go in an hourly chime here you can customize these options. The apps are very nice and also customizable and organizable. What I mean by this is right now, if I go into the app drawer, you notice they're in a circle, and I'm able to basically just go through and circle through them, but let's say I want to be able to organize them in a slightly different way. So here we can go in there and say change them to most recent or under a custom option, and you can go in there and customize the manage application. So I can change them.

Uh change, different applications remove them. If I don't want to like, we have Spotify stopwatch Samsung pay, all of those things and customize it to the way we want it. Layout right now is set up to be rotary, or we can go into list view. I like to keep the rotary option and of course you can customize the different things here. Messages is actually something that's going to work directly with the messages app that we have built into Samsung phone contact weather as well as a voice recorder, so really nice, some good options in there and, of course, widgets the same way you are able to customize your widgets.

That's the thing that I was showing you before. So if I press and hold here, I'm able to actually move this is actually a widget. I can press and hold it and, of course, move it to wherever I want, or I can actually go here and change it in the order that I want, so an example would be right here if I click on the actual little arrow up here, I'll go ahead and click that I can move it there and at this point, when I go back to the watch and go back home, the first option, oh and then of course, hit save and then of course, once I go back to the watch, this is Wichita from the app I'll go back here and, of course it goes in this, and if I want to be able to switch it back I'll, just go back here. Switch the music back hit, save I'll, give it a second to sync and next time I swipe give it a second it'll. Take me back to whichever one I want and, of course we can customize a few different options in there.

The next thing, of course, is sound and vibration. Ringtone notification, sound volume, all the different options that you're able to do and, of course, system sound and vibration. You can customize that as well under the display, we can set up the brightness of the display. How fast the display will time out background style and, of course, show last app if you want to be able to turn that on under background style, you're able to just change the background of the actual UI. So if you're switching between different apps like right here, you can change the background style to be whichever one you want.

So I can go in there. You can see it shows up there. I can change it, or I can just have it stick to the way it is out of the box and, of course, show charging information whenever it is charging under advanced. We have a few new options. We have the ability of customizing the double press on the home key and that will press and hold so press and hold and double press.

So right now is wake big b and, of course, double press just takes me into Bixby. So here, if I turn it on I'll, go ahead and go home. So if I press hold what's the weather like today, it is sunny with a high of 88 degrees and a low of 58 degrees, so we're able to initiate the Bixby assistant or the smart assistant here directly by the pressing or calling out the application, wake up, gesture touch, wake up and, of course, bezel wake up water lock, that's the ability of locking the actual uh device enabling the water propelling option that only works pretty much if you're going swimming, or you get the watch wet, and you notice that the sound is muffled. You can use that sound. It emits a high frequency sound to be able to basically eject any water out of the speaker.

Touch sensitivity can be increased if you're using gloves do not disturb good night mode and theater mode again. These are going to be perfect options if you want to be able to go in and customize now. One thing that I did not know or do not have in the past is the ability of customizing that notification panel or the quick panel, so you notice by default. These are the pages that I have here. Those are the ones we're looking at, but we can again do the same thing we did with the widget.

I can reorganize them to the b well to be the exact way that I want them. So do not disturb right now to find my watch of course, brightness speaker, airplane mode and battery saver are the first page uh. Second page we have the water lock, of course, and the watch, so you notice it actually is showing them here six at a time and six at a time in this page, and you can customize them and add different toggles, if you didn't have them before so really nice, the advanced tab definitely has a lot more advanced options. Add content to your watch. This is, if you want to be able to sync music track as well as images, so you can actually have them directly on the watch so great for when you want to go for a run.

If you have the LTE model, obviously you can stream using Spotify, but otherwise this one will require to have something that is either pre-loaded or your smartphone with you. But this would be where you can use that full the ability of using some of that eight gigs of internal storage. You have obviously SOS information and found my watch now. The sos' information is pertinent here because of the drop fault detection, so the text falls will work pretty much the way we've seen it from apple watches and what essentially it's using the accelerometer on the watch to detect a harsh movement and in that situation you're able to customize it by adding your sos' information, and it sends a SOS message or contact as basically makes a call to a SOS number that you dedicate and, of course you have to turn on both features for them to work, and you can customize and add the information in there very nice to see this new feature updated here under accessibility, of course, a screen, reader visibility, enhancement, hearing enhancement and, of course, advanced settings. Just basically, vibration watch notification, reminders and things like that vision.

Enhancer you have turning and grayscale negative colors, color lens and, of course, uh triple tap to magnify. In case you have a hard time reading some of the stuff that's available there, so nice options there. Last but not least, configuring Bixby, as well as Samsung pay Samsung pays pretty much the same way. You have it. It is separate from what you have as a Samsung pay on your smartphone.

So if you have a s20 ultra, let's say you have Samsung configured here. This is a separate version of it, so your cards need to be added again from a separate way, so you essentially think of it as a separate container for Samsung pay and what I like about that is that we can use this on any android device without having to have it be a Samsung device, and you can make your payments using the watch, and it works perfect. So you can check it out. You have rewards and of course, promotions and at that point of course, adding your cards under the accounts and backups pretty straightforward. You can back up and restore your settings here and, of course, this is what I did.

I restored my settings for my last galaxy watch directly so that I have all my settings configured correctly syncs phone settings. This is where you're able to initiate this option. Watch software update, you're able to go in and check and see if there's an update to it. I have not received one, but my understanding is some of the new features that we saw that were announced at unpacked will be pushed out as part of the software update in the near future as they get the certification uh tips on how to use it. This is just normal how to be able to use the watch.

There's a few options there simple there. This was mostly all the settings, but the next step is where it gets very interesting in customizing it. So here we have new functions that we can do, so I'll, go ahead and say uh like I'll, see what arable, so we'll say, not uh we'll say not right! Now it's its a little deceiving, so I'll, go ahead and click this here, and I'll go ahead and say yes, and if I want to be able to switch the watch face I'll, give it a second and, of course, it'll switch over, and it'll jump over to the watch face that we want pretty much standard out of the box. It actually did come out with this watch face, so this was the default one that came out of it. Personally, I like to use this one.

This is the tomcat one, and it works really nice and gives me all the information that I need. You're able to basically see your percentage, the battery and your steps and, of course you have a lot more options: you're able to customize download and do a bunch, and of course, you can go in and discover a few additional options directly within the galaxy store to download either paid apps or, of course, even watch faces that you're able about so watch games faces um utilities, different things and there, of course, essentials a bunch of different access again. The ecosystem for smartwatches is very, very strong here, so for me, I did change the watch bands you're able to change them to whichever you want and because I have a few watches, as you saw it's easy for me to switch bands from one to the other talked about before we're able to add track. So I'm going to go ahead and add a track. This is a Ben song, sound a non-copyright song, so I'll go ahead and hit play, and it didn't actually add it in, and this volume is at fifty percent and, of course, I'm able to switch back to actually controlling the phone to be able to run the content.

So the reason why we have the album art now it's connected to the smartwatch to the phone. If I switch over to the watch, it works the exact same way we can send and receive calls directly from it if we're using the dialer application. It's pretty simple and of course, when you're answering the call, you have the option of answering straight on the phone or answering it straight on the watch so Kevin. You can customize your experience to your heart's content and now, of course, it goes without saying that this will sync up to your Samsung health application and again that feature that they talked about where it actually uses. Samsung health, smart, basically classes that you're able to connect your smartphone to a TV, and then it will sync the steps or the movement.

So the next step in the actual exercise routine directly to the watch, will be coming up as an as a feature in the future. I did wear it overnight, so it does obviously work an overnight sleep pattern slept for 7 hours and 13 minutes, not the best sleep. As you can see here, I tossed and turned quite a bit, but overall you're able to basically do running walking, auto-detection for many exercises, as well as actually initiating certain functionalities. Of course, on your own. So my initial impressions of this device for the first 24 hours, I would say, is obviously a very positive one.

It reminds me exactly what I normally expect from a galaxy watch or the gear s3 uh, it's just it's a new version of it and I like the fact that they brought back the spinning display that option is always very nice and for a tactile watch. It just makes it look a little more robust. The customizations in here are obviously absolutely through the roof. We don't have all the new features they announced. That's, unfortunately, going to be coming out as an update later on, so I feel like, if you're thinking about it right now, and you'd like the watch, I definitely would go ahead and jump on it.

If you're thinking you want to try out those features that they talked about, you probably want to wait a little before you're able to try those out because you're actually getting into the system a little early overall works great with android works great with iOS. This is not going to be something that's going to be disappointing there, the, where application works, perfect you're able to install it on any device and, of course, download Samsung pay, as well as the Samsung health. So you do need to download a few Samsung applications on whichever phone you decide to use it on syncs data for sleep tracking exercise. It has auto-detection for exercise as well as obviously swimming, so you're able to basically jump in, and it has mil-spec 810g as well as ip68 certification. So this is going to take a beating, and you're able to.

Basically you know: do your normal things with it without having to worry about it, um overall there's going to be two different versions, as I mentioned to you guys, the 41 and the 45, as well as a LTE as well as an obviously a Bluetooth version, I decided to go with the 45 millimeter Bluetooth variant and that ended up basically being about 429. I picked mine up directly from Best Buy. I was able to order it online, and it was available for me to pick up today. So if you're thinking about it, make sure to check that out and go pick one up for yourself, I will update links in the description below obviously to Samsung's website, if you'd like to pick it up from them or as soon as it becomes available on Amazon, as I generally like to give you guys options to where to be able to pick up your tech like and subscribe and make sure you share this video with all your friends and as usual, I'll see you guys in the next video.
