What's going on guys the CTA Prime back here again today, I am super excited because I finally got my hands on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab s 6. In my humble opinion, this is the best Android tablet ever created and as making this video, it is the most powerful Android tablet on the market right now. This is Samsung's new flagship tablet, and it's the successor to the Galaxy Tab. As for I've done a review on that. One I've also taken a look at the tab: s5 II, which is an amazing tablet, which costs a lot less than the tab s6, but the s6 will outperform it in every aspect. I also picked up the official keyboard cover.
Now this has a keyboard and a trackpad built in if you're, regular viewer of the channel. You know I like using Samsung decks, which pretty much turns your tablet or phone into an Android PC, and with this new accessory, you can use decks without having to hook up an external keyboard or Mouse. So inside the box, you're going to receive the tab. S6, a 15 watt, fast charger, your USB type-c, cable and the all new S Pen they've added some new gimmicky features with the new S Pen and to tell you the truth: I really like the shape of the older S Pen that came with the tab asked for, but I think I could get used to this. It's shaped more like a carpenter's pencil, it may look like it's constructed of aluminum, but it is all plastic.
The S Pen sits in kind of little divot on the back of the tab, s6 it is magnetically connected, and it charges from here I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this design, but most tab. S6 cases that are going to be produced for this tablet will have some type of little cutout or a flap to hold this in place. Here's a quick comparison of the tab, Essex on the left and the older tab. S4. As you can see, the tab.
S6 is a bit smaller, but it does have the same exact screen size. It just has thinner bezels when it comes to height again. The tab. S6 is a bit thinner. One design change that I really like about the tab s6 over the s4 is the back.
The older s4 had a glass back, and I was always worried about shattering this, and it was an absolute fingerprint magnet they've swapped over to aluminum on the back of the tab, s6, and I'm really glad to see this. As for the exterior of the tab, s6, we have our 4 Pogo connectors on one side. We can connect our keyboard to this or other accessories. If they're released down the'm moving around to the other side, we have our volume rocker and what looks to be a power button. Now this is a screen wake button and if we hold it for two seconds that will open up big speed, I'm, not sure if we can program this as a power button, but that would be a nice little feature on the same side.
We also have a micro SD card door. Now this is the Wi-Fi version, and I'm not sure if the upcoming LTE version will use the same sim slot slash SD card slot, but this will support up to a one, terabyte micros and finally, the bottom and top of the unit, if you're holding it in portrait mode on the very bottom, we have our USB type-c connector for charging and sink plus two speakers, but on the very top we have our two other speakers, because this is a quad speaker setup tune by AKG with Dolby Atmos. This thing will absolutely fill a room with sound. It's super loud, very clear, and I really haven't heard. Another tablet that comes this close, except for the tab.
S5E aspects go for a tablet. This thing is fully loaded for the CPU. We have the snapdragon 855. This is the seven nanometer version. It's an outscore one core 2.8 4 gigahertz 3 at 2.4 and 4 at 1.7. The GPU is the Arduino 640 at 585 megahertz.
As making this video, there are two variants of the tab: s6 one comes with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal storage and the one I have has 8 gigabytes of RAM with 256 gigabytes of storage. It is lpddr4 X and no matter which version you buy. It will have a micro SD card slot good up to one terabyte. In my opinion, the display on This is unmatched, even by Apple. This is a 10.5 inch, Super AMOLED display at 1600 by 2560, absolutely beautiful. We also get that quad speaker setup tuned by AKG, with Dolby Atmos and if you've never experienced, Dolby Atmos in real life, go to your local electronics store and ask them if they have a demo set up.
It is amazing: I, never really pay attention to cameras on tablets, because I personally, don't use them that much. But this does have two rear cameras: one 13 megapixels, which is a wide-angle lens and one 5 megapixels, which is an ultra-wide on the rear. At the 13 megapixel shooter will do 4k, 30fps or 1080p 30fps. The 5-megapixel ultra-wide will only do 1080p 30. The tablet does contain dual-band: 802 11 ABG and an AC Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth, 5.0, and it does have a GPS built-in, an under screen optical fingerprint sensor, accelerometer gyro, proximity sensor and compass. The battery is non-user replaceable.
It's a 7,000 40 William hour battery with 15 watt fast charging capabilities, Samsung claims 16 hours of screen on time, but I have seen some tests, ranging from 13 to 14 hours, which is really great for a tablet. And finally, the operating system- Android 9.0 with Samsung one UI plus we get Samsung decks. Mountain gray is what I chose. They also have cloud blue and Rose blush. As for us pricing, the 128 gigabyte model with 6 gigabytes of RAM, it's six hundred and forty-nine ninety-nine, the 256 gigabyte model with eight gigabytes of RAM is $7209.99. It's definitely not cheap, but it's not as expensive as the iPad pros.
I understand that this is gonna, get compared to the iPad pros. A lot and the choice really comes down to if you're, a power user- and you want to side load third-party apps very easily I would go with Android now. I personally use an iPhone as my everyday phone. This is my work phone. It's a tool.
I use, I love the iPhone, but when it's time to play, I always pick up an Android device, because I can easily side load different applications that aren't readily available on the Google Play Store like emulators certain games and video streaming apps in a perfect world or an alternate reality. If Apple allowed us to side load third-party apps easily without having to jump through hoops, I wouldn't even be making a video on the tab. S6 right now, I would already have the iPad Pro, and I'd be content with that unit. Overall, the user experience on the tab, s6 has been phenomenal. Everything's really quick scrolling is very smooth, I haven't had any slowdowns whatsoever and unwashed apps are really quick to open, so go to Netflix, and it loads right up now.
This kind of will depend on your internet connection from loading all these thumbnails and everything like that. But if your internet connection is decent, you shouldn't have any issues with the tab at 6. So in this video I want to run some benchmarks. I'm going to test out the care I'll, give you a quick look at the Aspen, we'll test out some native android games, and then we'll move on to some emulation. Moving over to some benchmarks.
First up we have Geek bench for single core 35:31 multi. Ten thousand four hundred and twenty-eight I did want to kind of compare these to the tab. S4 s5 II for the s4 single core 18:46 multi 65. Sixteen on the s5 II single core 16 27 multi, forty-five. Seventy, so we do have a significant jump in raw CPU performance with the tab s6.
But what about GPU performance for this test? I use, 3dmark sling, shot extreme on the tab: s6 OpenGL, 57, 16, Vol ken 4998 on the tab, s4 for OpenGL 35, 50, Vulcan, 31 32, and the s5e for OpenGL 1584, Vulcan, 1536, there's a decent bump in performance from the tab s4, but there's a major bump from the tab, s5e and finally, for benchmarks. We have ant 2 2 overall score on the tab: s6 300 77381. This actually outperformed. My galaxy asked 10 by about 1100 points and if we take a look at the scores from the s4 and the s5 v, the s6 totally destroyed both Wi-Fi range and speed on the tab. S6 is amazing.
My network is rated at 400 megabits down and 25 up and the s6 took advantage of all of this download 469 uploads 23.7. These are the kind of speeds I see in my house over Ethernet I'm, not a big tablet- camera user, but I did want to take a few shots here. These are outdoors with sufficient lighting using the rear, 13 megapixel camera I think they came out. Pretty decently. I also took a couple indoor shots.
Now we have plenty of light in this picture here. So everything looks really nice, but when we go to the low-light performance, it's not as bad as I thought. It would be. I mean it is super dark where I'm taking this picture, and it gathered a lot of light and finally, I just wanted to do a quick video test. This is 4k 30fps, it's much better than I expected it to be.
It's definitely not on par with the galaxy ten note, 10 or even an iPhone, but it still looks great for being a camera on a tablet, as the S Pen goes, it's really handy to have, but it's definitely not a selling point for me at least, but if you're an artist. This is really handy to have now I'll admit on my tab. S4 I really didn't use the s-pen. Not much I just took a couple notes with it. That's about it, but there are a lot of things that can be done with the s-pen like marking, something down on the calendar, taking notes and that's supposed to be a star, and even drawing I've seen some people put out some amazing art on the tab, s4, and I'm sure they could do the same on the s6, but as you're about to see I'm no artist.
I can do a stick figure here and there and that's about the extent of it if you're really interested in drawing with the s-pen on the tab. S6 I'm going to leave a link to a YouTube channel called techie he's an awesome digital artist, and he's already put out a few videos with the tab s6 and the new S Pen. Now it's time to move over to some native Android gaming with the power that the tab s6 is packed, and you're going to have no issues at all playing any game from the Google Play Store at maximum settings. This has lead for speed. No limits and performance is great.
Pub G mobile performance on this tablet is outstanding. I'm set to HDR with the FPS set to extreme, and it's running at a buttery, smooth, 60fps everything's, just working really well here. Next up, we have fortnight with a controller. This is the eye Peg ah 98 III, one of my favorite controllers, for a tablet, because these big tablets fit right in here. I do have this set to high 60fps.
I personally don't play fortnight, but it looks like you're. Going to have no trouble at all on the tab, s6 either using touch controls or a controller, because this game does natively support controllers on Android, and before I wrap this video up. I just wanted to do some quick emulation. Testing I will have a full emulator showcase video coming up on the tab, s6 very soon, so stay tuned to the channel. This is the PSP version of Ratchet and Clank running in pass at 3x resolution getting full speed.
Next up the Dream cast version of Soul Caliber 1 running in the arid ream, emulator. It is up scale to 1280 by 960, and we're getting some really great performance here and finally, at least for this video we have the dolphin emulator running bloody, roar I am using the Vulcan back-end and performance here is outstanding, like I mentioned, if you're interested in seeing more emulation running on the tab, ass, 6 I do have a full showcase. Video coming out. I did want to give you a quick look at this new keyboard cover before I get out of here, but I will be doing a full video on the keyboard cover with Samsung decks on the tab s6, because I think it deserves its own video. The cover and keyboard are built very well.
If we take a look at the back, it does have this little spot for the S Pen and, unfortunately, you'll still have that little bulge on the back of the tablet. But this does keep the S Pen in here really nicely. The keyboard and trackpad do work inside of Android quite well, but where this really shines is in Samsung decks. If your regular view of the channel you know, I love using Samsung, decks and I will have a full video coming up on the tab. S6 with this keyboard and Samsung decks.
So overall I really like the tab s6- and this is by far the best tablet that I've ever reviewed on my channel over the past couple years. I've done a lot of tablet reviews and this is just superior in every way from CPU GPU performance. The screen sound touch sensitivity and the build quality, but it's the most expensive Android tablet that I've ever tested, and I expected. This would be better than all the rest at a price point of 650 to 700 and $30. It is overpriced.
You can go out and buy a Windows 10 laptop. That will outperform this in every aspect, except for the form factor and battery life for a lot cheaper. So it really comes down to what are you going to be doing on the tablet or the Windows 10 laptop? It's really up to you. A lot of people have different use case in areas for different devices, and for me, it really came down to the form factor and battery life. I have a trip coming up very soon, I'm going to be gone for six days, and I'm only going to bring this I'm going to use the tab.
S6 I'll also have my iPhone, but I'm not going to bring any desktop or laptop, and that will give me a real good feel for if this can be used as your everyday PC, I'm, pretty sure I'll be able to get by with this for a week or two, but in the long run, I could never use this as the only device I own. So that's pretty much it for this video guys. I really appreciate you watching, if you're interested in picking one of these up I'm going to leave links in the description and don't forget to hit that subscribe button. If you want to see more on the tab, s6 I will have a full decks review with this keyboard and a full emulation. Showcase it'd be really cool.
If you could hit that like button or maybe subscribe to the channel, but like always thanks for watching.
