Samsung Galaxy S21 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 9! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone time to talk about none other than the Samsung Galaxy, s21 who'the guessed it compared against the Samsung Galaxy note 9. Now both these phones are a little different. You know, I don't think these are like apples to apples, but they're, both Samsung devices and there's actually some pros for something. Like the Galaxy Note 9. Now, I will leave both of these linked down below as well some other phones. I would recommend this year, I'll link them down below you guys can get them from there, and I'll support the channel at the same time now side by side.

You can definitely see that overall, the Samsung Galaxy s21 for sure is the smaller one, but it doesn't really have that much of a smaller panel. You know the Samsung Galaxy note 9 has that 6.4 inch super AMOLED display on the front, and it's actually a pretty good panel, even still like it looks very good, I'm sure most of you have seen this panel. By now I mean this is a pretty old phone, but it's a pretty good-looking phone still another cool thing about it is that the curved panels are great, but also has the s pen, which is super cool. So it's basically like a stylus, I'm sure everyone knows about it by now cool thing, though the s21 ultra has that capability too, but for sure the panel on the Samsung Galaxy note, 9 is still pretty good. With the Samsung Galaxy s, 21, on the other hand, has that 6.2 inch, dynamic ml display, and this panel definitely is perfect. It's 1080p so a little of a low resolution, the 1440p we have in the note9, but I think a pretty big thing to keep in mind is that one we have the fingerprint sensor in the display of this phone, but two we have a 120 hertz refresh rate on this panel.

So that's a pretty big deal, I think for sure. At the end of the day, with the whole punch displaying all things considered, the Samsung Galaxy s21 has a better panel than the Samsung Galaxy note 9 for sure. In terms of the thinness and thickness between the two because of the curved edge on the note 9, it makes it feel a little thinner but, I would probably say the s21. I think the s21 may actually feel a little thicker. Maybe thicker, I'm not really to sure in terms of the back.

You can see glass back on the Samsung Galaxy note 9 with the galaxy s21. Has that plastic back, and this is for sure one of the bigger differences between them. I feel, like you know, obviously the triple camera setup here: dual camera setup here, fingerprint sensor here pretty big differences, but I do like the glass back and the note9 actually had a pretty good glass back too. On top of that micro SD card slot. On the Samsung Galaxy note, 9 galaxy s21, no micro, SD card slot, but you are getting reverse while it's charging, which is a pretty good thing for the Samsung Galaxy s21, so in terms of the outside I'll, definitely tell you the Samsung Galaxy note.9 feels better in the hand, but the s21 looks better and actually has more features in some ways than the note 9, but you also get the s pen, micro, SD card slot glass on the back. It's pretty tough pick in my opinion.

Now. I think this is probably one of the bigger differences between the two, and I've said this before. So stop me if you've heard it, but the software is the biggest difference between these two phones, the Samsung Galaxy note 9 is done getting software support, it's not getting any more software when UI 2 was the last version, android 10, it's already outdated, and it's pretty sad, but also it's expected. This is what Samsung has always done. So there's really nothing.

We can do about it. The number one reason why I wouldn't recommend buying the note 9 in 2021 is because of the software. The Samsung Galaxy s21 is just getting started with software. This device is going to be lasting for a much longer time than the Samsung Galaxy s 21, and that is a huge thing to consider. I don't want to sit here and say you know the note 90 is a worthless phone or whatever, because it's not, but it's very sad because the hardware is still super capable you look at a phone.

Like the Samsung Galaxy note, 9 this device is still feeling like a thousand dollar phone. I look at the note 9. I look at the s21 yeah there's a couple of differences, but it's not like a crazy big difference. Furthermore, I'm surprised, Samsung doesn't go ahead and make this phone a lot easier to custom, ROM or Qualcomm or whoever's in charge. They should make these phones a lot easier to custom.

Rom, that's 21 a couple of years from now it's going to be outdated and the hardware is going to be. You know worthless, because you know the hardware is still going to be great, but the software is going to be worthless because it's outdated. So I really hope that doesn't end up being the case. Maybe some people will find a way to root and customer on the note 9, but this would be the number one reason why I would go from buying a note 9 or from having a note 9 to going up to a galaxy s21 would be 100 because of the software and battery life is also a pretty similar thing between both. You know, both at 4 000 million powers, wireless charging on both, but, like I said, the s21 does have that reverse wireless charging, so more battery features here, and I'd probably say the battery life on s21 may be better, at least for my two units, because it has degraded a little on the note 9.

So keep that in mind, but those are probably the biggest difference between these two phones, the biggest difference being the software for sure. So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up now, let me go ahead and do a speed comparison between both these phones, the Samsung Galaxy note 9, has that Qualcomm snapdragon 845 chipsets, with six gags of ram on some models and eight gigs ram on the top tier model. This model has six gigs with the Samsung Galaxy s21 has that Qualcomm snapdragon 888 chipsets inside it with eight gigabytes of ram, so let's go and see which one is the faster phone between both of these okay and my studio looks like a spa right now, which is so funny all right hopping out. Let's go and make sure all these apps are cleared out, and we are good to go so, let's get started, let's do phone calls three two one and actually about the same. Not a big difference messages three, two one, but the same two.

I think the s21 is a little faster. There play stores three two one, that's 21 faster Galaxy Note, 9 a little behind and scrolling through. You can see the note 9 is definitely a smoother experience. The mean the s21 is a smoother experience, the galaxy s, the Galaxy Note 9 was, you know a little more choppy as you guys can see, helping out of this app. Let's go ahead and do camera three two one and yeah.

I do think the galaxy s21 is the faster one there. Now, let's go ahead and do these third party apps that I always have to get through, let's go ahead and do something like Facebook, which I don't have let's go ahead and do Snapchat, which I also don't have here- snake versus blocks three two one and for some reason we're already in the game here. I don't really know how that worked, and it wasn't me or did this phone actually load it up faster, I'm not really too even sure what happened there. So I guess we'll just leave that as it is stack three two one as you can see, the s21 was the faster one, but the note 9 was still actually pretty fast there too dune 3-2-1- and this is one of those phones that I do have doing on and look at the app opening speed. It was so much faster on the galaxy s21.

The note9 definitely took a little of time. Is it a big deal, not really, but it is something to note. So temple run two three two one, and you can see- I mean the galaxy s21 for sure- is the faster one. Even on this app the note9 a little behind, not a crazy big deal, it's an older phone as expected, but definitely the galaxy s21 was the faster one getting into some gameplay and, as always, I think it's going to be about the same. There's, probably not going to be that big of a difference here, which is a good thing.

I'm not hoping there's like a crazy big difference, but I'm also hoping there's a big difference, because I want that 21 to be faster because I paid more money for it. Now fruit, ninja three, two one and the note 9 crashed out of it, but then I went back into it. That was a very common problem for some reason on one UI, two, the Galaxy S9 also experienced that problem. Sometimes the galaxy s21 is still the faster one, but the 9 is still doing a pretty decent job. I'll, be completely honest.

Let's do BFA three two one, and I feel like I did click it here, just like a split second faster, but still, I think it would have been faster than the note 9, but maybe not as fast as some people may have thought just based on the video, and we can end it off that actually pretty much covers up all the apps that I wanted to test. Let's go ahead and go back and just kind of see which one opens up, which one first phone calls pretty much. The same thing here goes back to the beginning, messages pretty much the same thing here, go back to the beginning: play store pretty much the same thing there. Nothing restarted yet camera pretty much the same thing here too. Let's just keep it running and both kept it here too, wow both are doing a pretty good job.

There's nothing like a crazy amount of apps opens in the background either, but both are kind of opening up at the same time too, but I think for sure the galaxy s21 is the faster one and the smoother one, but the Samsung Galaxy note 9 definitely held its own down there too. So when it comes down to that, I'll probably tell you the Samsung Galaxy s21 is the faster and smoother one, but the note9 is still a very fast phone. Surprisingly. So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up. It's going to hit on the cameras.

So, as stated before the Samsung Galaxy s21 has that triple camera set up Samsung Galaxy note: 9 has a dual camera setup, a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens, where the Samsung Galaxy s21 has that triple camera threat, wide angle, telephoto and ultrawide sensor in terms of the UIs on both pretty much the same thing going on too, not a ginormous difference. A big thing to keep in mind, though, is that the Samsung Galaxy note 9 can do 4k 60 on the back. However, on the front, it can only do 1440p so pretty much like 1080p and a little higher the Samsung Galaxy s21 can do 4k at 60 on the back but 8k as well on the back, which is another big thing, but it can also do 4k 60 on the front as well. That's another pretty big thing to keep in mind now. The Samsung Galaxy note 9, as I've always stated, has a perfect camera setup for sure.

I think at the end of the day, it does a perfect job with what it has. I don't think it's like the perfect camera. Furthermore, I wish this thing did have like an ultrawide sensor, but I do think that the telephoto lens that it has does a really decent job at basically most of the photos you're going to take, even when you zoom in all you know a lot, but at least it has a dual camera setup as long as you have at least like a dual camera setup, you're good, still, 4k 60 on the back the front camera is where most people may run into more problems, having an ability of like increasing this overall, you know going up to 4k at 60 or something like that would have been a lot nicer, but I still understand where they were coming from. So I think at the end of the day, the no knights' camera is still pretty good. You still have a lot of features for sure, but I do think the Samsung Galaxy s21 by far is the better camera.

I mean we're like comparing like apples to oranges. Here I mean this. Camera is so much more future-proof. So many more features that 8k capability is seriously really awesome, that 4k 60 on this front. Camera is really, really good as well.

This is still like one of the best cameras you can pick up. I don't see how majority of manufacturers will go above this camera this year. Even the s20s camera from last year is still like top tier. So this camera, in my opinion, is really, really good, and I'm surprised how much better it is than the Samsung Galaxy note 9, but the no 9's camera is still respectable too. So in terms of that that pretty much covers it up now, we've made it to the end of this video, so I mean I can go ahead and answer the question for you, which one should you pick up? The Samsung Galaxy note 9 for a cheaper price or the Samsung Galaxy s21 and spend a little more money.

Well, luckily, for you there's a lot of phones in between these two devices where, if you don't want to spend the most money here and don't want to, you know, get a phone, that's outdated! The galaxy s20, I'm still telling you guys, is a really, really good purchase. That phone is like almost perfect. It has so much capability, and it's like a perfect phone for like a majority of people out there, but I still think the Samsung Galaxy note.9 has a lot of characteristics that the Samsung Galaxy s21 doesn't have you're getting a micro SD card slot. You know glass on the back the s-pen support, which that in and of itself is like another humorously cool feature. I mean this is something that not a lot of other devices.

Have you known the s20 ultra or s21 ultra just brought it, but this is a seriously like a really, really cool feature and I think the Samsung Galaxy note 9 is a very good device? If you don't care about the software, I think the software is the number one thing that really probably bothers me the most. I wish this phone had the capability of getting android 11 android 12 android 13, because, as you guys saw, the hardware is there, this phone's performance was pretty much almost near the galaxy s21. I was like pretty shocked about that performance. Furthermore, I was not expecting this phone to be as fast as this one. It's definitely not as fast, but it's pretty close like you guys saw it was pretty close.

I wasn't expecting that, but I think because of the software, that's where this phone's biggest problem lies. It definitely isn't the king there, but the Samsung Galaxy s21, even though it has a plastic back, and it doesn't really like to have an s pen or anything like that. You are getting, I think, an overall, better phone, it's more expensive, but you're, getting an overall, better phone here, you're getting reverse wireless charging, an amazing, triple camera setup, this camera setup on the galaxy s.21 is top tier. It's amazing better than the note 9s for sure you're getting you know a beautiful display, probably a better display than the note 9, maybe not in terms of resolution, but in terms of overall display the fingerprint sensor in the display, the 120 hertz refresh rate, though you know, hole, punch, display it's a better display than the no now. Even though this one is curved, and has you know a 1440p display, this one is better at the end of the day, and I feel like the software, like, I said, is the number one thing: this phone is outdated.

This phone's just getting started. It's like a no-brainer but, as I said before, you don't have to go from a note9 to the s21. You can go, get a galaxy, s20 or Samsung Galaxy note 20, even I probably recommend getting a note, 20 ultra, but going from this device to one of those last gen older devices from 2020 is a no-brainer as well. Those phones are cheaper. Now, honestly, if you sold the note 9, you probably only have to upgrade for like 100 to 150 to pick up like a galaxy s 20 or something like that.

Even the s10 is going to be a much better device than the note 9 right now so take it as you will, but that's kind of how I see it that pretty much covers up the video you know like I said before. All the phones that I mentioned will be linked down below you. Guys can get them from there and help support the channel at the same time.
