Samsung Galaxy S21 Unboxing!

Hey everyone Tim Schofield here and it's time to check out the brand-new galaxy s21 from Samsung they sent over the new phantom violet color. So I'm excited to take a look at that and starting at 7.99 it seems to be a pretty competitive price tag. Now I did just post my video on the galaxy s21 ultra. So if you'd like to check that out after this video, I will link to it in the description. There will be a lot more content coming soon on the s21 ultra and the s21 so make sure you're subscribed, so you're notified when those go live. Anyways we are going to unbox the galaxy s21 5g take a look at what comes inside and then of course, get some hands-on with the phone I'll, even throw it up next to the ultra.

So you can get a bit of a size comparison. So let's go ahead and get started here. Is the new galaxy s21 5g in a much smaller box this time around? It does not have a power adapter inside or headphones, so the box could be much smaller opening it up. Let's go ahead and see what we get first the phone, here's, a quick look at that new phantom violet color, pretty cool. Initially, I'm going to set it to the side for just a second, let's see what else we get Samsung made it quick and easy just a sim ejection tool, quick start guide and our power cable, which is USB type c to type c onto the s21 peeling off the back plastic.

We can take a better look at that color. I do really like it, especially the contrast that it has with that triple camera setup more on this in just a second, I also will be comparing it to the phantom black color on the ultra in just a second anyways. We are going to power up our s21 and while it boots up, let's take a close look at the hardware so down at the bottom, you get your sim card slot. No micro, SD card slot this time around microphone, an USB c slot, and one of the speakers along the right side is where your volume rockers and power button. Are.

You also noticed it somewhat extends into that camera module, giving it a little of a bump, but this one is much more minimal than it is on the ultra again I'll compare them in just a second up at the top. You have some microphones along the left side. Absolutely nothing, but I do want to make note of these sides. They still do have a bit of a curvature to them, so they aren't completely flat on the actual sides, but the display itself is flat and doesn't curve around the edges. And, finally, a close look at the back of the phone.

It does have a plastic back as opposed to a glass back on the s21 plus and s21 ultra, and a look at the triple camera setup. The lens up at the top is a 12 megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. The second one is the 12 megapixel standard, wide angle lens and down at the bottom, is the 64 megapixel telephoto lens? As always, I'm going to run through the startup process. Talk about anything noteworthy. I know I mentioned this in my s21 ultra unboxing video, but the fingerprint scanner is actually larger on the s21 lineup, and it's the exact same size across all the different phones.

You're going to get the same size fingerprint on the ultra that you do on the s21, which is good news. We are all set up ready to go, and this is the galaxy s 21 5g. Let's take a quick comparison with the ultra and here's a look at the two new colors phantom violet and phantom black drop. A comment. Let me know which color you like better.

Obviously the violet one a little brighter a little more contrast to the overall color, quick close-up of the camera modules, obviously a very different size, but you do get different tech in both phones cameras. Now, here's a look at the side, as I mentioned, similar design, how the side sort of spills into that camera design makes it pretty sleek. In my opinion, here are the two displays side by side, 6.2, inches and 6.8 inches. The s21 and s21 plus have a 1080p display, whereas the ultra has a 1440p display. So the display is going to be a little better on the ultra and obviously larger.

The s21 lineup has a flat display against a curved display of the s21 ultra, it's kind of up to you, personal preference on, if you prefer that curve on the side to kind of spill off the side, as opposed to the more flat display, and I have to mention. I did get a lot of questions about this, even though the s21 has a flat display. I want to take a quick look at the sides of the two phones, because the surface area to grab onto is just about the same between the two phones, and they are both curved, so you'll notice on the s21, as we said still not quite flat on the sides and same goes for the ultra, even though the ultra has a curved display. The surface area is just about the same to grab onto, so it's just as comfortable with both phones. It's just about the exact same feel when you hold on to them and just one more quick close-up of the s21 display, and I have to say after going through these pages, I can definitely tell they have 120 hertz enabled right out-of-the-box going into display motion smoothness is that adaptive you can bump it down to 60 hertz, if you'd like to, which will save a little of battery uh.

However, considering that it is on full HD that 1080p resolution uh, that will also help with battery life in comparison to a 1440p display. Let's test out that fingerprint scanner very quickly to set our thumb on down, and I've had a positive experience with the ultras fingerprint scanner so far, and it seems to be no different with the s21 that extra real estate with that scanner is nice to have also I'm noticing, while holding the phone with the plastic back, it doesn't feel as premium as the ultra does just because it does have a glass bag back in comparison with. That being said, it's not bad by any means. I just personally prefer a glass back phone now, let's go ahead and dive into the camera, app very quickly, just snap, a couple quick pictures more to come with the camera. Of course, a lot more videos coming soon uh.

The ultra should have an impression, video coming up very soon, so keep an eye out for that. There is three times zoom. This isn't three times optical, it's actually hybrid, so it's using optical and digital for zoom uh, so I'll have to test out that 3x zoom a little more and there we go with the ultra-wide angle lens, but shutter speed seems very quick. You can also zoom in up to 30x digitally. I'm actually surprised that stayed focused on the leaf right here.

That's actually pretty cool, so anyways again a lot more testing to come on this triple camera setup. There's a lot of different camera modes single take is a cool one, utilizing all the lenses a bunch of different modes and going over to video. You can actually change the settings and shoot in 8k.24 frames a second, so I'm going to start shooting in 8k right now, but not only can you shoot an AK if you see something cool you'd like to snap a picture of you can take stills while you are shooting in that 8k and finally, a quick look at a lot of the other modes. You have, including knight pro portrait director's view and a lot more, so that would be my unboxing of the galaxy s21 5g. I hope you enjoyed the video drop, a comment.

Let me know you think again, a lot more content coming soon on all of these Samsung devices be sure. You're subscribed, uh, be sure to give this video a thumbs up and as always guys thanks for watching.
