Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra: The key new features

Hey everyone, the time, has finally come for Samsung to unveil their new galaxy s. Series lineup they're, releasing three new phones. This year, the galaxy s21, the s21 plus and the galaxy s21 ultra they're, pitching the galaxy s21 and the s21 plus as their mainstream flagship phones, while the ultra is their super gig hyper ultra premium phone they're, also releasing the Galaxy Buds pro with an in-ear design which pairs active noise cancellation for both listening and phone calls for the first time in Samsung's lineup. So with all of these launches, what can you expect? I'm Angie for GSM arena, and these are the key features of Samsung's galaxy s21 series. Lineup, the galaxy s21 series has a brand-new design on the back. The camera humps are all new and unique in the way that they meld into the frame a contour cut.

Camera housing as Samsung calls it. You can also keep the new s-pen tucked into one of the specially made cases. The s21 ultra will be the first and only galaxy s series phone to be able to use this tech. The vanilla, s21 and s21 plus come in black white pink and a new phantom violet. All the phones, including the ultra, have matte finishes and metal frames.

Unfortunately, the s21 has a plastic back as opposed to a glass one. There is nothing wrong with plastic, but it's definitely a downgrade from the gorilla glass back on the s20. At least all the phones in the s21 series have an ip68 rating and gorilla glass Vitus on the front. The s21 ultra is bigger than its siblings, with a gorilla glass back and a quad camera setup. That is just a little different.

The camera arrangement inspires a slightly more tryptophobic reaction in me personally, so I prefer the designs of the galaxy s21 and the s21 plus there are stereo speakers on all three phones, which is nice to see, and you'll also find tiny centered hole punches in the tops of their displays, along with really slim bezels. On that note, screens have always been an area where Samsung excels, and this year is no different. The s21 has a 6.2-inch screen, while the s21 plus has a 6.7 inch. One they're, both full HD plus dynamic, AMOLED 2x, displays it's a bit disappointing that they've dropped the resolution of these displays from previous years, but at least you get the adaptive 120 hertz, refresh rate that can range from 120 hertz all the way down to 48 hertz. Depending on the content.

The s21 ultra 6.8 inch, dynamic, AMOLED 2x display, on the other hand, can adjust its refresh rate to as low as 10 hertz, and it runs 120hz at full. HD plus resolution too Samsung is also promising, improved colors and a max brightness up to 1500 nits. The ultra screen has a slight curve in a more traditional Samsung fashion, whereas the screens of the s21 and the s21 plus are flat. All three phones have Qualcomm's improved under display fingerprint readers with larger fingerprint areas, they're still ultrasonic readers rather than optical ones, so it'll be interesting to see if they're, finally up to speed the phones come with either the snapdragon 888 or the Enos 2100 both use a 5 nanometer architecture, and this year neither chipset has a processing related advantage. This is the first flagship Enos to have an integrated, 5g modem, and it like the 888 will be able to fuse image data from multiple cameras for better zoom quality and ultrawide shots.

As far as endurance is concerned, the s21 and s21 ultra have the same battery capacities as last year with 4 000 William hours and 5 000 William hours respectively, while the s21 plus has a slightly larger power pack worth 4 800 William hours, the phones support fast wireless charging. Wireless power share, otherwise known as reverse wireless charging and fast cable charging Samsung is promising that 30 minutes of charging will get you from zero to 50 in half an hour. So there is no progress there. There is in fact a downgrade as Samsung isn't, including the chargers anymore with the phones, so you would have to buy a charger if you don't already own one. The new s series features android 11 with one UI 3.1. On top, we've made a video covering all the new features of one UI 3, but 3.1 should bring a few features available. Only on the s21 family, on the vanilla, s21 and s21 plus you'll find the same camera setup as last year.

There's a 12 megapixel wide camera with is a 12 megapixel ultrawide camera and a 64 megapixel telephoto that has is and uses cropping to achieve up to three times: lossless zoom and up to 30 times zoom on the front they have 10 megapixel selfie snappers like before. In contrast, the ultra has a 40 megapixel selfie camera with autofocus, and it's not only that on the back, there is an improved 108, megapixel main sensor, a telephoto camera with three times optical zoom and a periscope one with 10 times, optical zoom, both zoom cameras have OAS and dual pixel autofocus too. The 12 megapixel ultrawide camera also has dual pixel autofocus a first on a Samsung smartphone. The improved 108 megapixel main cam should also have improved dynamic range by up to three stops. Possibly thanks to the chipset's new image processor.

The new chipsets this year hold a lot of promise for camera. Related improvements. Besides the improved dynamic range night mode should also work faster than ever with enhanced noise reduction. Portraits should be more realistic and have more convincing background blur and space zoom features. A new zoom lock, which cancels out hand trimmers and captures clearer images.

Samsung has focused on developing an ecosystem of products that works together. Seamlessly active switch will automatically switch your audio from a tablet to your phone when you get a call as long as you have galaxy android devices, smart things find and smart tag or something else that helps create fearlessness and functionality between their products. It's a system for finding galaxy devices, including each individual galaxy earbud Samsung, has included a ton of new features and options in their galaxy s21 series lineup, the s21 ultra in particular, has so many upgrades and new features and options that it feels like the ultimate smartphone. Almost this marks the first year when Samsung isn't including chargers in the box they're, claiming that this is for sustainability reasons, because consumers are reusing accessories that they already own, but these phones are incredibly expensive. The vanilla s21 launches at 850 euro, the s21 plus at 1050 euro and the ultra at an eye watering 1250 euro.

For that amount of money there should be a charger in the box. Maybe this is how they do it over at Cupertino, but we feel that this is not very Samsung like in terms of how they're treating their customers. If we put that aside, however, Samsung has released a trio of very impressive smartphones and a nice pair of galaxy earbuds that we can't wait to take a look at really. These phones are brimming with options and features, and there's a lot to explore here. So if you have any questions, leave them down below, so we can try to answer them in the full review.

Thanks for watching everyone, and I'll see you guys next time, you.
