How's it going guys vamp up here from GN Tech and welcome to this second part of this camera comparison between these Samsung Galaxy s, 20 ultra 5g and the Samsung Galaxy s, 10 plus I'm, recording this on the front facing cameras on both of these smartphones at 1080p resolution 30fps. Now both of these can also do 4k 30fps. Let me switch over to that now. This is 4k 30fps resolution footage from both of these smartphones, the s20 ultra 5g and the Samsung Galaxy S, 10 plus, but the s20 ultra 5g takes it up a step further with it capable of recording 4k 60fps footage from the front-facing camera. So let's take a look at that next and finally, this is 4k 60fps resolution footage from the s20 ultra 5g compared to 4k 30fps footage from the s10 plus. So this is the difference between the two and, if you check it out by clicking the card on the top right-hand corner, but without further ado, let's jump into some nighttime samples between both of this smartphone here's, a roundup of both the Samsung Galaxy s, 20 ultra and the Samsung Galaxy s.10 pluses camera specifications, the primary sensors, as well as the selfie camera, and in this video we're going to focus on nighttime photos, starting with this sample at one time, standard zoom, something that's fairly clear- is that the s 10 pluses image has more noise to it right off the bat enabling night mode on both phones. They both take similar photos, but it seems to me that the s 20 ultra captures the slightly sharper photo zooming in two times.
It's quite clear that the s 20 ultra sample retains more detail, but with night mode it seems that the s 10 plus does a far better job of it, even though it may have some more visible noise at three times zoom, though we start to see the improvements made to the s 20 ultras camera, but with night mode, it seems to do a slightly worse off job I think these inconsistencies are due to the pre-release software on the phone and future updates to address. This should be rolling out to different regions very shortly. This is now at five times: zoom, where, without and with night mode, the s 20 Ultra is definitely doing the much better job, and we can say a similar thing for photos at 10 times zoom. As just as a side note, you can also zoom in up to a hundred times with the s20 ultras camera. If you need to use it for whatever situation.
Moving to a different image. Now it's fairly clear that the s10 plus is able to bring out more detail in the photo when looking at the darker regions with night mode, each phone enhances photos, but it seems like the s10 plus gives off the brighter looking image. If you look a bit closer you'll be able to tell that there is less noise to the picture from it. Although because of the contrast, the s20 ultra can bring more my new detail to life, but definitely in this image you see Samsung's, better image, processing on the s20 ultra, making the photo look, much sharper and less fuzzy compared to the s10 plus. If you take a slightly closer look, that's pretty clear, and this is without night mode, although wit night mode.
The s10 plus makes some solid ground over the s20 ultra and if you have a look summed in once again, the s10 plus is sample is better. So there is some inconsistency to the ultras image. Processing and hopefully, Samsung's updates in the coming weeks, should improve that here's another image without and with night mode- and here maybe the s20 ultras darker night mode- is more favorable to control light exposure, although it does lose out on detail in dark patches of the picture, especially on that small shrub on the left. For example, the 108 megapixel mode, though, is still not ready to be used at night. This image now is to address the ultra-wide angle lens on both phones.
But if you look at it side by side, you see the s20 ultra is better noise processing, here's the sample with night mode and following this are the ultra wide-angle samples, the SM pluses image seems to process better here, and this is now with night mode enabled on both pictures. Zooming in you do see that the s20 ultra can capture slightly more detail in the ultra-wide photo moving to pictures of me with night mode. Both phones have considerable amount of noise to them, but the s10 process sample is more clear and does the better job where the s20 all tracks cells is with the live focus mode where both in the narrow and wide portrait modes, the photos it takes are much better quality and my view this was any very challenging lighting environment. With that we'll move to the last of the steel samples with selfies, the s20 ultra is able to minimize noise better with both its normal and wide selfie mode, and we also tested it's 40 megapixel mode for reference, something the s20 ultra does impressively well is selfie night mode where it comprehensively beats out the s 10, pluses night mode implementation. As for portrait selfies, the s20 ultras camera is definitely better versus the s10 pluses, which almost seems unusable in this lighting condition.
Now looking at 1080p 30fps samples during night. One thing, that's obvious, is that the s20 ultras video has less noise. It's also more detailed, but stabilization seems fairly on par with the s10 Plus, which also does a better job with detail in dark patches of the video with the ultra wide-angle lens. The sharpness and detail from footage is more pronounced from the s20 ultra and with 1080p 60fps footage it's much of the same story here, but the s20 ultra stabilization is also better in comparison to the s10 plus. In this case, this is now 4k 30fps samples between b2 smartphones, where the s20 ultra does take slightly sharper footage with each phone's ultra wide-angle lenses.
You can see once again that Samsung's flagship for this year has an advantage, but at 4k 60fps, the more usable footage comes from the s10 plus, with the s20 ultra struggling a bit to focus. Lastly, this is 8k footage from the s20 ultra, something that the s10 Plus cannot do, and while it does need some work, it's a step towards an extra feature, and I'm sure we'll see improvements to it with future software updates. So that's it for this nighttime comparison check out our daytime one if you've missed it and make sure to subscribe for more videos, including a roundup of the improvements after the s20 ultra, gets an update to its camera software. Thanks for watching this was rapper and I'll. See you in the next one adios.
