Time and time again we get to review the new Galaxy Note and a fascinating fact about. It is how it's always met with a polarizing set of comments, some call it a beast, others a powerhouse and then others call it either too large or too expensive, and some even say that it's just the Galaxy S with an S Pen in a way you're all right. This is the most powerful galaxy you can buy and definitely size is something you should consider in addition to its price tag, if you're eyeing, the plus thing is, if we were to compare a market full of devices called Pro, Plus or Macs, the question is actually, if any other offering is giving you a true reason for the added size or for the hefty price tag, to make common sense and I. Think that's where this phone stands apart, I even have a hard time comparing it to other devices, because I feel it's just not fair. I'm high metal be better with pocket. Now, when this is a review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 ting, to create a professional looking website in a very practical drag-and-drop fashion, learn more about Wix in the link in the description below. If you already made up your mind about the Galaxy Note 10 and just need to decide if the regular or the plus is right for you, we have a whole separate comparison detailing which one is a better buy.
This review is going to Center, mostly on the plus, because I feel that this phone is the one that follows mostly on the legacy that makes the notes so popular. Let me begin this video by telling you what I like about this device- and it starts with the hardware. If you come from a Galaxy, Note, 8 or 9, the note 10 plus, is going to feel pretty much like an iteration of a design that I never really wanted to change. See I've, always liked boxy designs met with curves I feel that it makes this phone look badass and the addition of this or aglow finish only makes it more of a head turner. Most of the changes are at the front end all to take advantage of the latest trends in technology.
Samsung knows how to make a great display they've done away with the bezels almost entirely. In the same footprint of its predecessor. We now have a larger 6.8 inch display at a quad, HD plus resolution. It's a dynamic AMOLED, which means that it adapts better to its environment, reduces the exposure to blue lights, even without a mode and is stunning, saturation and brightness. It supports every single standard that matters like HDR, 10, plus and Dolby Vision and sure it doesn't have the 90 or 120 Hertz refresh rate that competitors claim, but it compensates with the extra brightness and direct sunlight that competitors fumble with there are also a perfect pair of dual firing speakers that support Dolby Atmos and which you'll have a hard time covering up at the top of the display is one of five camera sensors on the Company's infinity oak cutouts and which brings some neat tricks that launched with the s10, like, for example, being able to record 4k video at 30 frames per second from the selfie shooter.
Well then, Cathedral, it's actually a Protestant Church, but because it was commissioned this match with audio performance. Improvement makes this device really compelling for vlogging and of course it does take selfies it's not as wide angle as the pixel 3, but is wider than most of you select the mode. So that's another plus you don't really have a time of flight sensor at the front, and yet portrait photos are not just decent but also customizable in post and then there's the primary set of cameras which are of the same three of the SN+, but with the added kick of the time-of-flight functionality in the fourth sensor. Claims improvements in software to take advantage of the hardware, and it shows to a certain degree, I noticed improvements in dynamic range, along with more subtle colors, making it easier to edit stills. After the fact detail is also great, and now you have a dedicated night mode.
I do notice that the phone performs better than its s, sibling and I love that the mode works in all three camera sensors. Probably my favorite reason to use this camera is the versatility really the ultra-wide for epic shots without stepping back standard shots to take advantage of the variable aperture and the added microns and the telephoto for street photography. I did notice that portrait photos have a different approach or kick where the phone uses the standard in the telephoto by the fault, making you have to step back unless you switch back to the wide mode manually. Still results are decent on both, and you can fix them after the fact I do love the option of super steady, video as well, but I do have to admit that I rarely use it because it's limited to 1080p, usually I'll, stick to the activating the mode to go to 4k, along with the option to switch between lenses during the video. Just keep in mind that the switch is only available at 4k 30 frames per second 60 frames will default to the standard camera.
Only last but not least, another of my favorite features of this phone is its internals. Surely we don't have the latest welcome stamp dragon 855, but the differences are not substantial and then there's all the RAM that the phone supports more than enough of the fastest storage available. That's also expandable. A large 43 hundred million power battery reverse wireless charging, fast wired charging up to 45 watts with an optional accessory ip68 I mean it's got everything, but obviously we're not in the business of making love stories. This is a review and there are a few things that have me mixed running with the software, but not for the reasons you think surely I do wish it had stock Android for faster software updates, but that's not really what I find to be the problem see on a large phone like this one, when you actually make sense having controls and menu elements.
The fault of the bottom is far more convenient for one-handed use. Really. The only thing that I find wrong is not Samsung's fault as having the rest of Android, throw elements that the top makes the experience rather inconsistent and then there's the case where, if you want to take full advantage of the s-pen stock, Android won't help you pull the s-pen out, get the error menu that you can customize navigate within applications without the need to touch the screen. You screen off notes whenever you don't feel like navigating all the way to the app search, those handwritten notes, because the phone can now index them, and that includes even my terrible handwriting and best of all take advantage of how Microsoft services, like OneNote, are already tailored to work with it. The S Pen is all about precision, so you wanted to create your own personal website with Wix on your phone, I mean their service is designed to be easy to use on a phone, but this larger canvas, along with the functionality of the s-pen, makes the experience of using the service even more convenient Wix offers an insane portfolio of tools frees to design something that's right for you and without any coding knowledge again links in the description below to learn more really we're on mix with the s-pen is, and all the air gestures that were announced, which I tried once noticed, how inconsistent they are on this phone and well I just moved on.
It definitely needs more polish. It reminds me of the whole experience of using DEX on the PC at first I thought. Furthermore, it was a good idea. I mean connect, my phone to my computer be able to drag files between them interact quickly, but then actually it doesn't work that well it's another one of those features that needs polish. Sadly, there is a very limited cross play which is rather cumbersome.
I'd say this is really just another way to control your phone, which isn't really as attractive as I expected and then there's one of the major reasons why I was sold on this phone when I was brief, which was the gaming streaming service that is now launched, I wish I had more time to play with it. To give you a final verdict, what I will tell you was like in the case of DEX, it's a good idea that still needs more work and implementation. Now one thing that Samsung doesn't really need to work hard on, particularly on the plus variant is battery life. It wasn't amazing. I'll tell you that much, but at least it was consistent enough to end the full day and on a Productivity phone, that's essential and then there's the case with phone calls where the tucked an earpiece makes it kind of hard to find exactly where you have to place your ears in such a large canvas, you'll find yourself playing around with a placement, and then it's the same story with the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is more secure than any other out there, but is also slower, and the lack of haptic feedback makes you wonder if the phone is unlocked or not, and then there's the case for durability.
The Galaxy, Note, 8 and nine were pretty much the phones that lasted the most for me, with zero, scratches or anything and I hope. This phone is as durable, though it seems that it won't be deadly. This one already has some weird smudges on the display that I haven't been able to clean off and obviously prepare for the back to be the worst fingerprint magnets you've ever seen. If you go for this color option and then there are the things that I just don't like, let's talk about the headphone jack, not for the things you think surely listening to audio is better through the headphone jack I'm, already a Bluetooth guy. For me, it's really that if this were to be a vlogging phone, you need to connect an external microphone to it and without a headphone jack.
That becomes something you can't do to conclude. I think a very simple analogy would help me. Give you an idea of how I feel about the Galaxy Note 10 20 years, that even if it's not perfect, you still forgive it for its legacy and everything it represents. Yeah. That's me, even if I don't really use the s-pen all the time, for example, having it available to me on my phone to be able to sign a document through right on, PDF is invaluable to have the best display and future-proof.
Specifications on such an elegant package is really hard to resist. Is this phone worth $1,100? No I don't think any phone should be worth as much as an expensive computer, but then again the reality of the market is that this is what phone's cost right now. So if I'm going to pay that amount of money for a device, I'd rather get my money's worth, have it do special things that other phones can't do and that's where I feel the Galaxy Note 10.1 about you?
