It was going on YouTube family darshan men pristine back with another video welcome to the unboxing for the all-new Samsung Galaxy note 9 now this is obviously the new powerhouse on the block a thousand dollar price tag. But the question is: isn't this phone really worth a thousand bucks, in spite of everything that its offering I've got it here, and I'm going to unbox it for you? Now, let's crack this box, alright yo! So here we go. Let's get underway with the unboxing. Now, first off you guys know that I really like I, really like to talk about the specs really quickly. Just to give you guys an idea of what it is that we're dealing with the new Samsung Galaxy note 9 here so starting off with the price we've got: 2 gigabyte variants, we've got 128, gig 6 gigs of ram variant, which is what this is. This is 99999 thousand bucks, ok, and then we've got a 512 gigabyte of storage, 8 gigs of ram variant for 1249 99, and this price is standard for both some for both gigabyte sizes across the board.
So, whatever carrier that you decide to get this from phone from or if you end up getting it unlocked, expect to come out the pocket. Ok, so that's this! That's one of the most important specs right there being the price. Okay, now onto the hardware and some software specs, we've got a six point. Four-inch quad HD Super AMOLED display the display is 29 60 by 1440 pixels we've got a PPI pixel density of 516 and again this is the Infinity display. We've got Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front in the back, we've got aluminum around the sides at the top and the bottom we've got a snapdragon, 845 processors, 6, gigs of ram again 128 gigabytes of on-board storage that can be expanded up to 2 terabytes.
Okay, we've got an Arena 630 GPU, and we're running an outscore CPU. Now the cameras we got: dual 12 megapixel sensors we've got a 12 megapixel primary in a 12 megapixel Simon, secondary camera. Both of these lenses have optical image. Stabilization. Okay, we've got LED flash, auto HDR panorama two time, optical zoom, which is something that you're finding on a lot of the flagships of today.
Okay, now the selfie camera is an eight megapixel sensor. If you guys familiar with the s, 9 + s, 9, plus the selfie cam- is very comparable to the camera there. So, and the cameras have been enhanced a little here on the note 9 over the s9 in the s, 9 +, + s, 9 and s 9 plus cameras were absolutely phenomenal, so you're definitely getting a powerhouse of a camera in this particular package as well. Now, as far as the battery I know, that one of the things that the notes as of late have been getting slammed on is the battery life. You know the battery didn't really prove to be as good as what Samsung was claiming with the note 8.
We all remember the battery Fiasco with the note, 7, and I'm sure a lot of people don't want to be reminded of that, but that's the reality. Samsung decided here in the note 9 to give us a four thousand William hour non-removable battery. Okay, you got 4000 Williams type, C connectivity that does support fast charge and so topping up your device shouldn't take long at all whatsoever. Now the codes that you can get this phone in its interesting, because the carriers are only selling the lavender purple and the ocean blue, but there are a couple of more colors. You can get this in metallic copper, and you can also get this in midnight.
Black and I would have loved to have gotten my hands on the midnight black, but I ended up getting the lavender purple a little of a different feel for me. As far as the color scheme is concerned, initially I was gonna, go with the ocean blue, but seeing that my g7, my q7 plus here is blue. It's like why do I want two blue phones, I mean, so I was like. You know what go ahead and give me that lavender purple, because the fact is it doesn't look. Pretty slick, and I know that when the s9 and the s9 plus came out, I think T-Mobile was selling that purple color exclusively, and it was.
It looks pretty dope. It wasn't doping up at the time for me to get it, but it still looked pretty slick I had to I had to give you some props. Alright. Now some other notable features we've got Bluetooth 5.0, and so you still have the ability to connect to multiple different Bluetooth devices at once. If you're streaming, music or video content, which is nice, we've got NFC, we've got dual stereo AKG two speakers that have been fine-tuned a little more than the s9 and s9 pluses, so they sound a little better.
Sound quality is much richer. Okay, we've got a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack in yes, it does have a 32 bit DAC inside it so expect to get that. You know that kind of similar to what you find on the lg devices that have the 32 bit high v. Quad back expect a similar experience here on the note, 9, okay, we are ip68 water and dust resistant. We do have wireless charge, fingerprint sensor, iris scanner, heart rate, monitor, spo2, monitor to check your oxygen saturation and then there's the s-pen that has the new Bluetooth connectivity and everything else that you can do with the with the s-pen I mean.
So all you, creators out there and people that like to do art on your phone. You can do that. You still can assign documents and stuff, and you know, take care of business transactions using the phone or just navigating your phone using it, the Browse, the whatever, whatever you want to use it for taking notes. But now you have the additional options to be able to basically control the device by using the s-pen. If you're listening to music, you can fast-forward a track.
You can go back to the previous track, all from the s-pen, if you're watching some video contents, and you're watching a video on YouTube- and you want to get to the next video, you can use the s-pen to do that. If you're watching a video- and you want to watch the previous video that you watched, you can use the s-pen to do that. If you are in the camera app- and you want to take some really nice selfies of yourself- and you don't- have to worry about your arm or your hand, possibly being in the camera showing people, you know that you're holding the phone, if you don't- have a gimbals or a tripod or something to put the phone on well now you can be at a distance, and you can take some perfect selfie shots of yourself or just pictures with the primary sensor on the back of the phone, all from the S, Pen and I. Think that that's one of the main innovations that really drew me to this device, because the fact is this phone is as great as it is. There was whatnot.
There was nothing really new about it. I mean a lot of the things about this device we've seen before and so Samsung. You know they just kind of fine-tuned. It played it safe. You know.
If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. You know type of approach, which is why a lot of things look really familiar from the note paint. You know what I mean, but I do like the bigger display. I do like the fine-tuned speakers on the device that sound, better I do like the Bluetooth 500 option, which gives you the ability to connect multiple different devices. At once, I mean this phone has a lot of going for it, I mean the big battery.
You know a lot of people feel as though the thousand dollar price tag is actually worked at this time around I mean a lot of people are saying: hey if you are going to pony up a thousand bucks for a phone, it should be for the note 9 now do I agree with that. That's yet to be determined. Okay, that's yet to be determined, I mean, so definitely I'm going to get this phone out of the box. Of course, I got my sim card in it, so I'm going to be using it as my daily driver and after some extensive real-world usage, then I think that I'll be able to determine whether this phone is or is not worth $1,000. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, let's crack this box man.
Those are all the specs that you need to know right there. Let's get into this thing, okay, so a typical Samsung presentation, black box, very simple, okay, nothing on it, I'm being on the bottom. You got the serial number information and all that I am I all that kind of thing, and then this is where you can tell the color. You know so on the s-pen on the ocean blue. We know that the s-pen is yellow, so the pin on the box is yellow, indicating that that's the one that you got so let's go ahead and take off this little sleeve, here, okay and again outside the sleeve just a typical Samsung black box.
Alright- and here we go and Samsung always gives us a really nice presentation, I love just how the box just folds out like that. Okay, now on the very top of the box, here, you see Galaxy Note 9, and my understanding is that this is where a lot of the literature lives I mean. So we've got our sim ejection tool right there. And yes, this is where all of our typical books Quick-start guide and all that thing I'm not even gonna, bother taking all that stuff out, because I've never messed with any of that stuff. Okay, now here is the device itself now look at this purple in the color combination with this black, my goodness man.
This thing is absolutely beautiful. Okay, you see, it's got the nice little shimmer to it, I mean so. You definitely want to protect your investment. I mean you know again. It's Corning Gorilla, Glass 5 on the front in the back.
I got my Taurus clear CPU case from Amazon got it delivered yesterday, the same day, I got the phone, so definitely going to slap that on there and like I, said it's its a clear case. If you guys can see, and I'll drop the link in the description. If this case is something that you're interested in, and I'll take it out of the box, so you can see it, but it's just a clear rubber CPU case just to protect this device, but to also show that beautiful color you know. So here is the device right there. I'll go ahead and follow that to the side really quickly- and this is the tray that the phone was laying in okay now here is on wall adapter that supports fast charging.
All right, okay, can I get into this little box. Okay. So in this little box here is our USB to USB type-c that plugs into the bottom of the device for the charging. Okay, I'm sure we get some AKG tuned headphones in there, which we do and what else we got in there. Okay, here is, although transfer the vine, something so, if you're transferring you're, if you're, basically upgrading to a note 9 from another device, then this little transfer device is gonna, make things very easy and convenient for you to transfer all of your information from the old device to the new device, and then here is I always forget what this little thing is: there's a couple of pin tips that are in there for the s p-- enemy, so you get, so the pin tips are adjustable, and I can't exactly remember what this little clamp is for, but nonetheless, ladies and gentlemen, that everything that you get in the box, and so I'll just go ahead and put the Box aside here, come back to all those things later now, let's get to this beautiful phone here.
So let's go ahead and get this plastic taken off of it. Okay, do we have anything on the front? Yes, we do all right pull that aside. Open is kind of hanging out a little, so I'll just go ahead and pop that right back in there. So, ladies and gentlemen, again six point four inch display. Corner-To-Corner, no notch activity- okay, no notch activity here is our front facing eight megapixel sensor.
Here is our ear receiver, which also doubles as one of the front-facing speakers. So we got the speaker here in the ear receiver, and then we've got another speaker here coming out of the bottom of the device, and so you've got two stereo speakers. That's providing a lot of that excellent, sound! That's going to be coming from this device, and then we've got a little LED light sensor right there to blink for notifications. Okay, now to the right of the device, it's nice and clean, and then we've got our power button right there. Now there is no rigidity with the power button: okay, it's just nice and smooth button, and I'm thinking.
The reason for that is because the volume rocker is actually on the other side, so you don't have multiple buttons on this side of the phone that you have to press, and so I guess: Samsung's rationale behind not adding any rigidity. Is that well, hey, there's only one button over there, and we all know what that button is, so I think they still should have made this phone or made this particular button. A little rigid just to be a clear indicator that this is clearly the power button, because on the left side of the device we have the dedicated Bigamy button, and so I'm sure. A lot of people may accidentally press that thinking that it's the power button, because it's the same side that the volume rockers are on, and they're going to activate big speed rather than put their phone to sleep or turn their phone off. So I would have liked to have seen some rigidity there in the power button, but nonetheless I mean that's not really a huge deal.
Now we've got an antenna line right here, a little noise-cancelling microphone right. There got some little serial number plant or brandy. Oh there's, a little plastic. There's heart rip all that stuff off now. Here is our sin trace.
So we've got a nanoohm that we can put in here and an SD card for memories. Expansion up to 2 terabytes, mind you. This phone already has 128 gigs of storage in it. If you decide to go with the 512 gigabyte storage version, you still have the option to expand the storage. You know so that's crazy I mean you already got a lot of storage onboard, and you also have the ability to expand the storage for all you, people that love to download and just have all kind of content on your phone music movies.
You know just whatever you can just go nuts with these phones and the amount of storage that you can have on them. Okay, and then we've got another intent line right there to the right of the SIM tray. Ok, now to the left of the device here, is our volume rocker up and down? And then again here is that dedicated Bigamy button that cannot be remapped I, believe you can turn the button off just to prevent accidental presses and accidentally launching Bixby, but you cannot remap that button to function any other kind of way. Okay, now on the bottom of the device, again, we've got an antenna line there. Here is the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack with that 32 bit DAC activity. Okay, we've got a type C port here for charging another noise.
Cancelling microphone here is the second bottom firing speaker. Well, okay, here's the bottom firing speaker! This is the second speaker. That's gonna, provide that stereo sound okay and then here is another antenna line right in between the speaker and the s-pen, and then, of course, we've got the s-pen who lives that that lives right here on the bottom right of the device. Okay, now moving around to the back of the device here, as you can see, we've got the Galaxy Note none Samsung branding here is our fingerprint sensor, which is your know pretty interesting, I mean I. Guess I can say that the fingerprint sensor is in a better location than what it was last year, because last year the fingerprint sensor was right here like right here where these sensors are and so a lot of times.
People would still reach up to tap the fingerprint sensor and still would end up touching their camera, and that's not something that you want to do, because these cameras are excellent. You don't want any fingerprints or any smudges on the lens. That's going to obscure the images in which you're taking or video footage that you are recording, so I like the fact that they decided to move the fingerprint sensor separately. You know separate from the camera sensors, but it is very high up still you know, and if you've got small hands like myself, I mean I'm, typically going to be holding this phone just like this, and so in order for me to reach the fingerprint sensor, I'm going to have to kind of wedge my hand up a little so that my index finger can reach it not really a big deal. You know just going to take a little of time and get used to as I mentioned.
This phone is big, it's its, it's its 6.4 inches, and it's pretty heavy as well. You know it's definitely got some weight to it, but again, navigating the device is not a problem at all. It's nice and sleek I like the fact that it's curved around the corners as you can see, and so you see the screen how the screen just kind of bleeds over to the left and the right I mean, so you've got those edge displays on both sides, and then it just continues to be rounded all the way around to the back of the device, and so when you're holding the phone, then it just makes for a really nice comfortable, hold in the hand, and it just kind of like it kind of conforms to your hand as you're holding it and so again, even though it's a big device, it's really narrow. It's not wide I mean if this phone was any wider than what it is then I can see that being a problem. Ergonomically I mean it's still, not going to stop people from buying it, but it would just be a more cumbersome experience while holding it in the hand so having it as narrow, as it is really helps navigate this device while holding it.
You know because it is a big phone now, let's go ahead and turn the phone on, and I know we got some juice here. Okay, so I'll just go ahead and pop the phone right there, and this is the Verizon variant. Ladies and gentlemen, now, ladies and gentlemen, typically what I do with these unboxing is I, don't really go to the whole setup process, because, with the amount of phones that I've unboxed mostly being Android devices, the setup process is the exact same pretty much on most of these devices. So what I'm going to do now is I'm going to pause, the video I'm going to go ahead and just go through all the prompts and everything to get the phone to the home screen, and then we'll start playing around with some software. Take a peek and see exactly how much bloatware is on the device and see exactly how much of that hundred twenty-eight gigs has been utilized with just the applications that have been preloaded on the device.
Alright, so I'm going to pause, the video, and I'll be right back with you all right, hold it down. Okay, also hold up. So I'm not I'm, not quite on the home screen just yet, but I think it's interesting, because basically what Samsung has done is they've added the little Bigamy voice to kind of help you navigate through the startup process. So it's like every little thing that I'm doing the voice is like saying great or saying. Thank you or something like that.
I think! That's pretty nice! That's pretty! It's a pretty dope little introduction to the device. So you know, let's just go through this. Okay, so just put my phone number up there on the screen. So let's go past that part okay. So let's go to network five and let me type in my password for that.
Okay, go to next! Okay, all right! So now, but pause. The video I just thought that it was kind of dope. When you turn the phone on you get this voice-activated prompt system. You know that typically doesn't happen. You know, so I thought that that was pretty nice, and I thought that that was worth.
Furthermore, you know sharing that with you guys, so you guys know hey when you turn on the note. Furthermore, you're going to have a nice little nice sounding little voice to greet you and kind of help you through the steps all right so now in pause. The video put all my Google information in the phone get to the home screen, and I'll be right back all right. All right choice, we'll be back in Wow I have to say that that was a pretty intuitive way to introduce the device to us. Man I mean pretty much everything throughout the whole setup was all voice prompts, and so I actually thought that that last voice prompt that we heard was it, but actually after I internet all of my Google information, then there was still a few more little settings like Samsung settings like logging into your Samsung Account.
If you've got one and just doing a couple of other things with the device as well all voice-activated, you know with the voice prompts, and so I thought that that was pretty dope. A very nice introduction and I mean just it's 2018 man I mean you know. So you know Samsung. It seems like they just went all out with this particular device, and so you know I'm I'm. You know with what I'm seeing and- and you know just so far- it's just like you know.
Maybe a thousand bucks is warranted here. You know what I mean, because this phone I mean it's kind of giving you like that red-carpet treatment like right out the box. Like you know, I mean it's like I've, never heard a phone voice prompt me through the whole setup process. You know unless you've got some some accessibility. Uh things you know turned on for individuals that are handicapped.
You know what I mean, and so I thought that that was pretty. That was a pretty nice introduction. Man, you know they're, just like hey Samsung is like we're: going to roll out the red carpet for you fresh out, the box. I was pretty dope all right now, I've got intelligent scanning setup. Intelligent scanning is basically the phone doing facial recognition and iris scanning at the same time, and so this makes it much more complicated for people to get into your phone.
As far as like facial recognition, all that stuff about, like somebody, hold the phone up to your face, if you're sleeping or something or holding a photo of you to unlock your device well with intelligent scan, it takes facial recognition and scanning your eyes and your eyes to open the device and I got that setup as well, and so it seems to be working. Just fine and let's see there, we go, and my face is behind the camera. So that's why I took a little. You know to open up, but now, ladies and gentlemen, I'm in the device like I said, I haven't put any of my applications on it. A lot of the applications that come pre-loaded on the device.
They got some updates, and so there are some updates loading up right now. So if the phone appears to be a little choppy for whatever reason, then it's probably because those things are updating at all, but I wouldn't anticipate this phone being choppy by any stretch of the imagination now really quickly. Let's just go through some apps list, real quick, just to see all the pre-loaded bloatware on here we already know this is a Samsung device, so Samsung typically likes to put a lot of their own bloatware on the device, but it doesn't really seem as though there's a lot now again. This is the Verizon variant, so I've already expected for there to be a lot of Verizon applications as there is. You got messages here and then here's Verizon app.
You got caller name ID cloud um, my Verizon security and privacy and voicemail, and so that that was to pretty much be expected. But then, when we flip the phone up or down on the screen- and this is how we access the applications- and so here's a lot of that Samsung stuff, Galaxy, Apps Internet, my file is pin up galaxy, wearables, Samsung health, Samsung notes and smart things. Okay, let me see what else do we got? We do have Google Pay on here, which is interesting because I know that Samsung pays is on any set very mobile payment option. But let's see we got game launcher there, and I know that they're a know, anticipating this phone being a gaming device as well, and it definitely has the power to do so. If you pre-ordered it, you know you got fortnight, and you got a pair okay over the ear AKG headphones to me.
I didn't pre-order it, so I couldn't take advantage of those headphones, but no worries but again yeah. You know: Samsung pay, Bank of America Final Fantasy, Star Wars, Heroes just that type of thing, I don't make at Bank of America and I don't play games on my phone and Yelp, and so those are some of the only things that are pre-loaded on the device. But I mean aside from that. A lot of the Samsung stuff is on here. That's to be expected because again it's this! It's a Samsung product, it's their new flagship and Samsung.
They always put a lot of their apps on their phone I kind of get the idea that Samsung you know they want to be their own entity, they kind of want to separate themselves. You know away from a lot of the other competition and I think that that's probably a main reason why they implement a Bigamy, because it's like okay, well, you know I understand that. There's, google and Google has its own voice assistant and that's what a lot of people have gravitated towards, because that's what's been available most of these Android devices, but you know Samsung, you know if you look at a lot of the things that they have their hands in they're, doing a lot they're, not just working they're, not just playing around in a smartphone game. You know: they've got smartphones, they got computers, laptops tablets, you know they got home appliances, you know all kind of things. You know what I mean.
So it's like okay! Well, why? Wouldn't they want their own voice assistant? You know what I mean it makes sense to me. You know, but I know some people were kind of scratching their head and still are about the fact that okay, well, why is there a separate voice assistant aside from Google? Well, you know Samsung. They want you to use their services, even though Google is provided on their phone they're, still providing a service that they want you to use. So you know when I put myself in the shoes of the corporation that makes sense and Bixby is actually not that bad. You know, I think the more you use it, the more intuitive it becomes, the more it starts to learn your habits and your patterns, and what you like to see what you like to do, and I think the more you use it, the better it becomes, and so it's just one of those things where you just got to try it out and rock with it for a little same thing when Google introduced Google, now and in the Google Assistant.
You know it wasn't perfect when it first dropped it, but I mean, as time went on it, got better and better and better and people started using it more and more and more, and now it's just kind of like all. We know you know what I mean, what Bixby is just another option. You know that doesn't mean that it's bad. So if you don't try if it's hard to knock something that you have, we try to meet personally, I. Think bigamy, pretty cool I, think it's pretty cool I'm, not the previous Samsung phones.
That I've had I've used big speed, and it was very helpful. It was very helpful all right so now again eight Android 8.1 Oreo fresh out of the box. My hope is that this phone is gonna, get Android Pi sometime soon, considering that a lot of a lot of devices are starting to get that update. Now, if we scroll down to bring us to all of our quick toggle settings, you will see here, I mean these are remarkable I mean you can configure those. But then here you got the s-pen remote, that's turned on edge lighting is turned on, and so that's just like.
When your phone rings, then the corners of the corners of the screen lights up, it's pretty dope I mean, so it's like. If you got your phone on silent, and it's not on vibrate, and so there's really no way for you to know that your phone is ringing when it's ringing, then if it is ringing, and you're going to see all these little lights around the edge of the screen, blinking and lighten up and that's an indicator that you either got. You know a notification of some sort, or you're getting a phone call, and you can just go ahead, and you know pick up the phone. You know. So that's pretty slick.
You know it's just you know a little, a little cosmetic. You know little little trinket there, but I mean hey I'll. Take it, madam, because it looks dope. You know to be always on display, so you saw that when the phone lock I mean that was already enabled and that can be customized, you can add a picture. You can put your own little little little message on the screen.
Furthermore, you know just to kind of personalize it a little. Furthermore, you can change the different clock styles, and so you know that I'm a huge fan of that as well. Now, if we go to settings and in the settings I mean we've just got tons of things, we've got connections sounded vibrations, notification, display, wallpaper and themes, advanced features, device, maintenance, apps, lock, screen biometrics and security accounts, Google accessibility, general management, help about phone and system updates. Ladies and gentlemen, there is a lot of customizations in this particular device, tons of things that you can change and tweak, and that's just part of that Samsung and that's a lot of what they do with their devices. Okay.
So now, let's find the storage and see exactly how much of this blow we're on this phone is taken up out of this hundred twenty-eight gigs, all right, okay, so under the settings, if we go into device maintenance, okay, the phone you can see and just kind of scans it real, quick, excellent condition, and then we've got battery performance, mode, storage and memory. So when I click on storage, it's going to calculate the amount of app the amount of gigabytes that have been used, and so you can see what the apps that are pre-loaded on the device that took up 20.8 gigabytes, which means that we've got one hundred and seven point two gigabytes left over there. It is right there with your own eyes, ladies and gentlemen, so again, if there's anything that you want to erase to help free up some of that storage, you definitely can do that, because I know that I'm definitely going to be getting rid of getting rid of those games getting rid of that Bank of America app getting rid of that Yelp app. That's going to free up some more space. Now, even if I decide to keep those things on here, like I said I mean give me a third give me 30, you know 16 or 32 bits.
Gigs of storage am in I'm, probably going to be good to go. Because I, just don't download I, don't go crazy with a lot of the apps and downloading them on the device. But if you are, you got plenty of space here. You got plenty of space here and on top of that, you can expand the memory which is in sane, all right, so swipe the phone up hit the button there swipe up. Okay, you're going to unlock for me there we go yes behind the camera, which is why I wasn't having a hard time but okay, so a lot of the bottom buttons here.
The navigation keys. Those are remarkable I like the fact that fresh out of the box that these whoa I wonder if, when you, when you log in to your Samsung Account, which I have if it saves your settings because I didn't change this out of the box, but this is typically the orientation in which I would change these buttons to if they're not already configured this way out of the box, but I know a lot of times. The back button is here in the is over here and I. Just switched those, but I mean like I said: I haven't changed any of those settings, but I did log into my Samsung account, and so I'm curious to know. If yeah I'm going to have to look that up because I think that would be pretty dope if, when you log in to your Samsung Account, if it saves all your settings and then pretty much whenever you log into it on a new device, then pretty much a lot of your settings and configurations are there I mean that'd, be pretty dope, because that's less that's less! You know time you got to spend configuring the device if all your settings are, as is from your previous device.
That's that's pretty dope all right! No, let's see here, let's go back to the settings and advanced features. Okay, so here's where a lot of the S Pen features live. You got s, pin smart stay, which is keep the screen on while you're looking at it games. One handed mode: fingerprints, finger sensor, gestures, quick launch, the camera phone assistant, multi window, smart capture, pane swipe to capture direct call, smart alert, easy mute swipe to call or send messages. Dual messenger: send SOS messages, emergency mode, direct to share video enhancer touch sensitivity, I mean there's just there's so many things to customize on this device, and so you got a game launcher we know, let's turn that off, because I'm not a gamer.
So there's no reason for me to have that on. Let me go to the s-pen for the features you got: S Pen remote unlock with s-pen remote screen off memo, air view, direct pin, input, pointer, Air, Command, shortcuts floating icon, and then removal remove S Pen when S Pen is removed, alarm power, saver, sound vibration, learn about S Pen features about S Pen. Now also be mindful of the fact that on the Galaxy Note 9, the S Pen is Bluetooth, enabled, and so I know that one of the challenges with excellent battery is even though we've got a four thousand William hour battery. It's enough that this that the battery has to charge this phone and everything that it's off. But now, while the s-pen is in the device, the s-pen is being charged by the battery in the phone, which could also drain battery from the phone, and so I'm going to be curious to see how this battery holds up over some extensive usage.
Just you know, especially considering that there's another source now you know being pulled from the battery to charge. You know so. The s-pen is now being charged because of its Bluetooth capability by the phone itself. Alright, alright Charles. So another thing I want to show you really quickly.
So when we go into biometrics in security, you'll see all these different security features that you've got own. This phone, that you can utilize to keep your device secure. You've got intelligent scan, which is what I've got set up right now, and you can see that in your face and irises have been registered, you know, so it scans your face and your irises. Okay, we got face recognition, iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, screen, transistor effect. Okay, under security, google play protect, find my device security update, install unknown absence of past secure, folder, app permission, monitor, secure, startup, encrypt SD card.
Other security settings a lot of ways in which you can secure your device, as opposed to just having facial recognition and a fingerprint sensor, and so I think nowadays, stuff like that is important. People are doing more with their devices. We've got all these mobile pay options and so a lot of people's credit and debit card information. Our other devices, a lot of people's identification driver's license passports, are on their mobile devices. A lot of different bank accounts.
You know money, you know just all that kind of thing, personal information, a lot of people's lives are in their cell phones nowadays, so cell phones nowadays are the equivalent of a wallet or a purse. If you will,, you know because a lot of times, if you lose your cell phone you're, stressing you're pulling your hair out because you're wondering if somebody who has the phone is you know? Sometimes you know somebody that can hack her, get the phone hacked into and get all your information and get into your money and just really pull some fraudulent stuff. So security on the device is extremely important, and I like the fact that Samsung, basically floods you with a lot of different ways in which can secure your device, I'm a huge fan of that. Okay. Now, let's go to the cameras, real, quick, all right and okay, so terminal location, tags, nope, because, you all, don't even know.
Why is okay, so we got big speed vision tap here to shop, for products online, find out about nearby places or translate text using your camera. So to me that reminds me of like Google Inns. You know because Google Linz does something similar now I'm, not sure if Google ins does translations it kids very well, but I've never seen I've, never seen anything. That said that it did, but I think that that's pretty cool I mean. So this is another aspect of Bixby.
You know, then you can utilize, and it can really help you out. You know with finding out some information or doing some translations if you're somewhere, where you don't speak the language in the area in which you are that's, pretty that's pretty slick, alright, alright! So now, let's just take a picture of the case for this box and that is so clean. Everything is so crystal clear and detailed, very quick, shutter and look at that I mean it's just hard to tell allowed location information to be shown. Deny ok swipe up to see more info about this picture? Ok, so if you want to see more info about the picture, then you just swipe up, and it gives you more info about the picture. That's pretty dope right there! Alright! Now, if we go into- and you can see at the top here- we've got Auto live focus.
Oh, didn't mean to do that. We got pro mode. You got panorama super slo-mo, ok, so single take it's just kind of giving me a little tutorial or how to use the super slo-mo right now, and I'm pretty familiar with that from the s9 + that I had. Okay, here is AR emoji and here is hyperlapse okay, so you got a few different little features there, and I'll just go ahead and keep it in auto right now and then, when we go to settings, we've got picture size which this can be customized to 4.3 12 megapixel. Four point: three: six point: two megapixel, sixteen by nine.
Sixteen, you know sixteen by nine at different megapixels eighteen by five point: nine one by one at nine point, one and one by one at four point: seven megapixels: we do save raw and JPEG files, and they say you do have that option video size. As you can see there. We do have our 4k recording right there and look at that and look at all those options that you can choose from video right now. It just comes standard on Full HD, but you can turn that up and you, as you can see right there. We do have Full HD at 60 frames per second, and we do have 4k at 60 frames per second, that is nuts, so I mean you guys can spaz out with this camera high efficiency, video UHD video stabilization, video stabilization isn't available in UHD at 60 frames per second and 1.1 resolutions. Okay, so it does give you that little of information right there, we've got a scene, optimizer, timer, HDR, tracking autofocus super slo-mo and then the front camera.
We got picture size when we just tap into that. These are the different picture sizes that you can utilize with the front camera we'll get out of that video size with the front camera. Damn you can even record the 4k with the front camera Samsung a plan with this joint timer HDR safe picture, as per view show palm face, shape correction, edit, camera modes. Flaw. Detection motion photo video stabilization, grid lines security, location tags, review, pictures, quick, launch, voice, control, floating camera button, hold camera button.
?. You can program the camera button to do different things, press the volume key ? you can vote, you customize the volume keys to do different things, shutter sound reset settings and about camera Jesus. You got all kind of different things with this camera now take a selfie. Take selfies easily hold up your palm, where the camera can use it to automatically take a selfie okay. So you got gestures.
You know you can just wipe swipe your hand across the screen, and you can take a picture now. Here I am right here. Just take a nice little selfie here, Wow very nice picture very clean right. There look at just look at the new man, the color reproduction man, that is, that is dope. That's a good-looking for me.
I know, I'm, very handsome. You know what I mean what I'm saying this picture is pretty dope not trying to toot no horns. You know God clearly made no mistakes when he created this thing right yeah. Furthermore, you see what I'm saying but uh. Nonetheless, cameras are dope.
That is absolutely no surprise to me at all whatsoever. So you guys definitely stay tuned for the dedicated camera video. That's going to be coming for this phone, oh and then really quickly. I got this case. You can see the brand is Torres our tour Arturo's, not sure.
If I'm pronouncing it correctly, I got it on amazon. com for like ten bucks and for a lot of them for most of our devices. I just get these little soft shell CPU cases because they are nice and lightweight I. Typically, don't drop my devices, so I don't need to like really bulky cases you know like lightproof or Letterbox, or anything like this, but just you know a nice little CPU case something that covered the sides in the back. It's got some shock resistance along the corners I mean just in case the phone does drop, but I get it's transparent, it's nice and clear.
So you can show off that beautiful color scheme of the device, and so I'll definitely drop a link in the description for this case as well. If this is something that you guys are interested in getting your hands on, as you can see, it's nice and thin lightweight I mean, so I. Don't anticipate this adding you know any bulk at all whatsoever to the device, but if anything is just going to, you could see the camera, and you know that there's a little downward indentation in it. So when you put this phone or the case on the phone, then it's got a lip that it's going to be raised over the camera. So if your phone is sitting on a flat surface like this, then it's not going to be touching the camera at all whatsoever.
That's definitely not what you want, because you for sure don't want to scratch up your lenses all right. So you know, like I, said: I mean I'll drop, a link in the description for that case. If this particular case is something that you're interested in but as of right now, ladies and gentlemen, that is all I've got for the unboxing and first initial thoughts and impressions for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
