Die here with the digital digest and today, I wanted to share a quick video about the Samsung Galaxy note 9. Now many of you already know this is my daily driver, my go-to phone, it's fantastic, but there has been a recent report of an alleged explosive Note 9, a Long Island woman has apparently already opened lawsuits over this and I say alleged, because I have not seen any real reputable sources to back this up. Of course, this all stems from the note 7, which I have right here and believe it or not. I was using my note 7 in a very limited capacity. Yes, the recall explosive one, and then this started to happen. Can you see it? Can you see that the whole back started to open up I'm, not sure that it's really visible? It's its barely open anymore, but yes, it did start to completely open up.
It was on a wireless charger, and I'm just glad that I caught it and, of course, now I keep it hidden in hey I, don't have a fireproof or a bomb-proof place to put it, but I'm fairly. Confident it's not going to explode I'm, keeping it in a relatively safe place, but back to the story. So this woman from along a Long Island. This is directly from the New York Post, which I wouldn't wipe my tush with normally but still got to cover it right. I mean a lot of you picked up the note 9, and you've got to be made aware, because this could be the beginning of something or just complete BS, but essentially she claimed that the phone got really hot.
She put it in her purse, and then she started to hear as well as see smoke. She heard crackling, it's all described in this article, and eventually it was on fire. Furthermore, she pulled it out of her bag burnt, her hand, threw it on the floor in the elevator and then when she got out of the elevator, kicked it into the hall and then apparently in the lobby of I. Believe I, don't remember if this was an apartment. Building, someone eventually picked it up with what they claimed was cloth and dumped it into a bucket of water they're, calling it Good Samaritan that person, so I.
Don't know whether any of this is real, so I don't like feeding the beast so to speak on this I haven't had any issues where the note 9 has gotten hot. We all know the story of course, though, with the note 7, which even as I hold it now since as I keep reiterating it is swollen. You have to remember what happened, so they sold a know a ton of these millions of these phones and then several started to expand. Like you see right here, battery was swelling and started to explode and that's because they had a little of an engineering feat with the note, 7 great design, incredibly minimal form factor, but a 3500 William hour battery inside it. That's why, with the note 8, they made the phone.
You know slightly larger and the battery went down to 3300 William hour, just hoping that, with all the circuitry everything under the hood for the note 8, unlike the note 7, there would be enough breathing room and I mean that, literally that we wouldn't have exploding batteries again, because that's you know these batteries expand and contract, and if there's no room and high heat, that's what can lead to these explosions. Now this thing I think it was just an engineering mistake, a note 9, whether there's any validity to this woman's story we'll find out, but I still felt compelled that it was something I needed to share with all of you, because I know a lot of you have purchased. The note 9 like me, are enjoying if it's in your pocket. It's in your purse, it's in your bag, wherever you store it and I. Don't personally think that you need to be concerned, but this is news right now, whether it's fake news and buy fake news.
I mean real fake news, we'll find out soon enough because things real sources are going to have to show up. It can't just be this vague story, we're getting of it exploding and her burning her hand and truthfully, if this is a real story, I feel horrible for the woman. If this is a fabrication, I also feel horrible for her, because well, you should be able to put that together, but that's where things stand, I wouldn't be concerned. Yet, let's see Samsung has already acknowledged. It said they're investigating it and that's the way things like this should be handled, but I don't think we have another note 7 on our hands, but we're going to find out and that's why it was important to share with all of you any questions or comments.
