Samsung Galaxy Note 20 VS Huawei P40 Pro - Camera Comparison! By Redskull

What's happening everyone, my name is Alex and welcome back for this camera comparison. We have the latest one from Samsung. We have the Samsung Galaxy, note 20, and then we have the Huawei p4a pro now. The camera systems on the back of these two devices are somewhat similar, so we have the main lens. We have an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens, but the OE p40 pro also has a time of flight sensor, and this device gets five times optical zoom versus somewhere around two times optical zoom, on the note 20. , so you may notice a difference for the zoom pictures that I'm about to show you.

So throughout this video we're going to see a bunch of daytime pictures. We have some portrait mode pictures in there. Some pictures taken on the ultra-wide lens some pictures taken with the main camera. Then we are gonna, move on and see some nighttime pictures and, of course, for the nighttime pictures. I use the night modes on both devices.

Then we're gonna check out some sample videos and all the way at the end, some selfies and just in case you're wondering all the pictures were taking on auto mode and about a second, apart from each other, all right. So looking at the pictures, taking with the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices, the first thing I've noticed is how much wider the field of view from the note 20 is compared to the p40 pro. So if you prefer that wider field of view are probably going to love the pictures from the note 20. Now looking at sharpness, the pictures are fairly similar, so not that much of a difference as for dynamic range well, in some pictures, the p40 pro does better in some pictures than Samsung Galaxy note, 20 does better now, looking at the colors, the colors from the pictures taken by the note 20 are just over saturated. In my opinion, I mean the sky was never that blue the buildings were never that color.

So if you like um your pictures to have more realistic colors, I feel that the Huawei p40 pro does a bit better. But if you prefer your pictures to be more Instagram ready, I think you're going to love the pictures from the note 20. So definitely leave a comment down below and let me know which device you prefer for um. The pictures taken with the ultra-wide lenses moving to some zoom pictures, and I've done five times zoom now keep in mind that the p40 pro has a five times optical zoom, on where the note 20 needs to do a combination of digital and optical zoom to achieve that five-time zoom. So, looking at those pictures, as I expect that the pictures taken by the p40 pro are sharper, but I have to say that the note 20 did pretty good, and the pictures are way sharper than I was expecting so even though the p40 pro does better whenever you're going to zoom.

I feel that the note 20 didn't do that bad. So I was actually expecting that the note 20 would do way worse than that. So for zoom pictures um, the p40 pro will do better. In my opinion, moving on to some portrait mode pictures well, first, the edge detection is very similar. I can say that one is so much better than the other one, but then looking at the colors and the skin tones well, I feel that the p40 pro does better, because the pictures look a bit more realistic.

The portrait mode pictures taken by the note 20 do seem to have like a filter on them, because the skin is just way too smooth in my opinion, so the pictures taken by the note 20 almost make you look younger, if I may say so once again for portrait mode pictures, I personally prefer the ones from the p4e pro, but um definitely take a look at these pictures and, let me know in the comments down below which one you prefer moving on two pictures taken with the main lens. Well here, the main difference once again is the saturation. So the pictures taken by the Samsung Galaxy note 20 are more saturated, and I can see a lot of people actually preferring these saturated. Looking pictures because those pictures actually do better on Instagram, Twitter and so on. So if you do prefer your pictures um to look a bit more realistic, I feel the p40 pro will do better.

As for dynamic range, I feel that the note 20 did better for pretty much all the pictures' sharpness wise. They are about the same. I would say, even though some pictures taken by the note 20 do seem a bit sharper, so I'll, let you guys watch a few more pictures and once again, let me know in the comments down below which phone you prefer for daytime pictures, and we're moving on to some nighttime pictures that I took and, as I mentioned earlier, I used the night mods for um all the pictures that you are about to see. So I took two sets of pictures. The first set um were pictures taken with the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices and the second set pictures taken with the main lenses on the back of these two devices.

So, looking at those pictures taking the ultra-wide lenses, I feel like the p40 pro does better for most of those pictures, mostly because the pictures are a bit sharper and a bit brighter. Now I do love the way that the note 20 retains the colors in some of those pictures, because some pictures think the ultra-wide lens by the p40 pro do seem to kind of lose their colors um a little. But overall, I would say that the p40 pro does better for the nighttime pictures, taking the ultra-wide lens now moving to pictures taking the main lens. Well here I see a bunch of pictures taken by the note 20 that are a bit better that are a bit sharper, but overall the p40 pro will do better in darker places. I'm going to say so.

There are a couple of pictures in there where it was fairly dark, and the pictures turned out sharper from the p4a pro, but for the main lens I don't mind either of them, and I actually preferred a lot of the pictures taken by the note.20. so definitely leave a comment down below and let me know which phone you prefer for nighttime pictures and why? Next we are moving on to video recordings and for video recordings. I have to say that I was a bit surprised to see that the p40 pro did actually better in some situations than the note 20, because for most camera comparisons that I've done between a Huawei phone and a Samsung phone, the Samsung phones do usually better for um videos so for videos, film do the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices. The p40 pro does better for daytime recordings and for nighttime recordings, and there is actually a massive difference for um those nighttime recordings and um you're, going to see that in a bit as for the main lens um, I feel that for the daytime recordings, the note 20 does a bit better, but for nighttime recordings well they're kind of um kind of similar to the main lens. I think the p40 pro does have a bit more noise for those recordings done with the main lens, though.

As for sound, I feel the p40 pro does better and the image stabilization seems to be about the same. So let you guys watch those videos, and I'll be right back all right. We have our first video recording between the Samsung Galaxy note 20 and the Huawei p40 pro for this recording I'm using the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices, and I'm recording in 4k at 30 frames per second, so we're going to turn on around we'll walk towards my car, and I'll. Try walking a bit faster, so you can see which device has better image. Stabilization we'll stop somewhere around here, we'll pan left slowly and up a bit, I guess and back right yeah.

This is how recording um between the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and the Huawei p40 pro would look like with the ultrawide lenses on the back of these two devices for our next test. We have a quick recording with the front facing cameras on the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and, of course, the Huawei p40 pro now um. Both devices can do 4k at 30 frames per second with the front-facing cameras and that's the resolution that I'm um using for this particular test. So we're going to stop here for a bit we'll pan this way and back this way, and then we'll walk straight for a bit faster, so you can see which device has better um image stabilization so yeah. This is how recording with the front-facing cameras on these two devices would look like, and we're moving on to another quick recording between the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and the Huawei p40 pro for this recording I'm using the main lenses on the back of these two devices, and I'm recording in 4k at 30 frames per second, and, as you can probably see for yourself, I am walking fairly slow, so we're going to stop here, we'll pan left slowly, and we'll keep going this way.

Hopefully there isn't anyone here. I was trying to film this um a couple of times, and someone was here every single time, so um we'll stop here, we'll pan left slowly once again, so yeah this whole recording between the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and the Huawei p40 pro would look like under these conditions. So basically the main lens that we caught in 4k 30 frames per. Second all right. We have a quick video test between the Samsung Galaxy note 20 and the Huawei p40 pro for this recording I'm doing 4k at 30 frames per second, I'm also using the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices.

So we'll walk straight for a bit towards the discharge here, we'll pan left slowly, and we'll keep panning left towards those houses, and we'll walk straight. So this whole recording in low light between the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 and the Huawei p40 pro would look like the ultra-wide lens and for our second test in low light between the note 20 and the p40 pro I'm doing, 4k at 30 frames per second, but now I'm using the main lenses on the back of these two devices. So lock a bit towards this house. Hopefully no car runs me over and let's pan to the left, slowly and walk this way, so this whole recording in 4k 30 frames per second. Would the main lens look between the note 20 and the Huawei p40 pro? So what do you think? Which one was better for video recordings, the note 20 or the p40 pro all right then we're moving on to some selfies and um for selfies.

I have to say that looking at those daytime selfies that I took the note 20 does have pretty nice colors, but it almost looks like it has a filter over my face. So I do look younger in the selfies taking by the note 20, but I kind of prefer the more realistic selfies from the p40 pro. I guess it comes down to your personal preference as for nighttime selfies. None of them does that great, but if I would have to choose one, maybe the p40 pro or maybe the note 20. So for nighttime selfies, none of them um.

Does that great. So there you have it the note 20 and the p40 pro which one you do choose for pictures. Videos. Basically me personally, I would choose this for certain pictures and this one for certain pictures, so I can't say that one is so much better than the other one that I would just choose them one over the other.
