Welcome back to another video guys, and it's time to do a quick comparison between the Samsung Galaxy m51 and the galaxy a71 before we begin please subscribe and help me reach 50k subscribers. If you find this video useful at some point, do hit the like button too. Both the m51 and the a71 are the top devices of their respective series, and both devices share about 90 percent of their characteristics. But there are a few things that can be a make or break point when it comes to choosing one out of these two, so I will put everything side by side to make it crystal clear for all of you. Let's start with the design, and the weld first. First thing is the weight the a71 weighs at about 184 grams.
On the other hand, the m51 is a considerably heavy device because of its huge 7000 my battery, we have a battery of only 4 500 MH in the galaxy a71. The dimensions of both the phones are same. However, the biggest difference between these phones is in the wheel department. The a71 is built out of polycarbonate, which Samsung also calls plastic. This material is actually plastic, but it's kind of a premium plastic that gives you a perfect feel a 71's pack can resist scratches.
Only a very hard object can leave a scratch on this phone's body. On the other hand, Samsung has used the cheapest possible plastic on the galaxy m51. I have seen many reviewers saying that the a71 and m51 have an identical build, but no that's not true. M51S plastic is so cheap that I got scratches on my phone's rear on the very first day after unboxing it, I had the m51 in my pocket, along with my GoPro hero 9, and when I pulled this phone out of my pocket. I was shocked to see that its back was full of scratches, and it was all damaged, not just that the finishing of the back also says a lot about Samsung's cost-cutting measures taken on the build quality of the smartphone.
Unfortunately, there is no CPU case in the box of the Samsung Galaxy m51, and this phone doesn't even have a screen protector applied out of the box. A71 is also slimmer, while the galaxy m51 is a bit thick and feels bulky in the hand, and this bulk kills the premium fields. On the other hand, the a71 feels really premium in the hands. Another difference between these phones is around the camera module. The thickness of the galaxy m51 embeds, the camera module inside the a71 camera is slightly bulged out.
If you just take a look at the back of both the phones, you will quickly notice that there is a geometric pattern at the back of the galaxy a71. All colors of the a71 have this pattern. On the other hand, m51's pack is not only cheap. It is also very plain with a shiny finish. Both phones have a speaker, grille USB type c port headphone jack and a primary mic at the bottom on the left.
Side of the phones is the sim tray which supports two sim cards, and one micro SD card on the right side is the power button and the volume rocker m51's power button also has its fingerprint scanner inside a 71's. Fingerprint scanner is in the screen at the top of both the phones is the secondary noise cancellation mic. Let's compare the displays now. Both phones offer a 6.7 inches super AMOLED plus panel and the brightness of both the screen goes up to 5 15 hits, but I found the display of the galaxy a71, more saturated and brighter the a71 screen has a cleaner, refined look. Let me know which phone's screen.
Are you guys finding better between these two? The display size aspect ratio resolution. Everything is exactly the same on paper, but both phones put together side by side, tell us that there is a difference for sure. As we already discussed for security, the a71 has an in-display scanner. M51 has an optical reader a71's, fingerprint scanner wasn't very fast back in the day, but it is superfast now and with a little trick that I have shared on my channel, you can make it lightning fast, so I won't give the advantage to m51's optical reader. Here.
Both phones run on the android 10 themes by Samsung's one UI, but there are some major differences here. A71 runs on the Samsung one UI 2.5, the m51 runs on the one UI 2.1 core, both UIs look the same. In fact, most of the features on both the UIs are also the same, but some key features that are available on the a71 are not there on the galaxy m51. First, the m51 does not have the NOX security. It does not have the Samsung secure, folder, no Samsung pay, no link to windows, no edge panels and many other such features are missing on this phone.
On the contrary, the a71 has all these features. A71, as announced by Samsung, is eligible for three major software updates, which means this phone will go all the way up to android 13, but this is not valid for the Samsung Galaxy m51. The galaxy m series wasn't in the list of devices that Samsung put in the eligibility list of the three-year update cycle in the software department. The a71 as compared to the galaxy m51, is an overkill. Both phones in this video have a ram of 8 gigs and a storage of one to eight gigs.
Both are using the same UFS.2.1 storage standard- in fact the CPU on both the phones is the same as well. Both phones come with the snapdragon 730 g or the 730 soc, with Arduino 618 GPU. I am carrying the snapdragon 730 variants of both the phones, but the an tutu score on both the sides varies a lot as you can see on the screen. I am also attaching the 3dmark gaming benchmark score here and also dropping the geek bench 5 score here. To give you guys a better idea, the gaming seems fun on both the handsets, but I liked it more on the Samsung Galaxy a71 actually uh, the galaxy a71 is easy to hold because of its build.
It doesn't make your hands sweat, like the galaxy m51. Does the gaming performance is same on both the sides, graphics and everything else is also the same. There are no corners cut in the performance department of the galaxy m51. Both phones have a same single bottom firing speaker and the sound output is also the same. Next are the cameras, and there is a huge difference here too.
On the paper. The camera systems are the same on both the phones, but technically they are different. A71 is using Samsung's in-house gw1 64 megapixels main sensor, but the m51 is using Sony's 64 megapixels mix 682 sensors remaining camera sensors are almost similar, as you can see on your screen. Both phones are using the same Sony, mix 616 sensors, which is a 32 megapixels camera sensor on the front. Now both phones are supposed to deliver a similar result, but because of a different sensor, the color tone can largely vary here.
I expect the m51 to produce slightly cooler images, because the Samsung sensors are known to produce warm images. In general, I will attach some camera samples for you guys to take a look at. We will discuss the remaining in the full camera comparison of these phones, which is on its way and yeah. The camera apps on both phones are 100 percent, the same moving on to the batteries. This is where the galaxy m51 takes a big leap.
It's got a 7000 my battery, the biggest ever for a Samsung smartphone a71's battery is 2500 MH less than the m51. Both phones use a 25 watt superfast charger, but here the galaxy m51 simply has no competition. This phone can stand tall against any phone of today, and this is also the main USP of the galaxy m51, and this now brings us to the conclusion of this comparison. First, let me clear some confusions. Some people are defining the galaxy m51, a galaxy a71 with a Pickard battery.
In fact, I also confused myself before I got my hands on the Samsung Galaxy m51 is not a galaxy a71 with a bigger battery. It would be better to call this phone. A cheaper version of the a71 with a better battery m51 does not have a pre-applied screen protector. It does not even have a CPU case. As I mentioned, Samsung's cost-cutting mirrors are going to affect the users heavily once they pull their phone out of the box because, as I said, its back is a scratch magnet.
You will never know from where your phone's back picked up. Those ugly and severe scratches m51 and the galaxy a71 differ in a lot of departments except for the battery. Everything else is better on the Samsung Galaxy a71 in comparison to m51 is a premium. Mid-Range device with premium feels better software. Better update, support, better looks and better build.
M51 only has a bigger battery, and it does not qualify for the three year. Software update lifecycle, m51 is a device for the people who don't want to carry a power bank or who cannot charge their device twice in a day. It's also a device for the users who are looking for a very good smartphone under a very friendly budget. Just because of a better battery. We cannot call the m51 an equivalent or a superior device, because if that has to be the standard, then the Nokia 3310 is better than all existing smartphones.
In terms of battery, if I am given a choice between the galaxy m51 and a71 with no budget restrictions, I will still pick up the galaxy a71 any given day.
