Samsung Galaxy M51 Unboxing, First Impressions & Battery Test!

Hey guys how's it going in this video we're going to be doing an unboxing, and I'm going to give my first impressions on the Samsung Galaxy m51. This phone is on sale at the time of this video I'll have links down in the description. If you want to check it out for yourself, I personally paid 370 dollars for this device, so this phone is very similar to that of the galaxy a71, which we've been covering a lot on the channel you're. Getting a great 1080p 6.7 inch super AMOLED display you're, getting the competent snapdragon, 730 g processor, you're, getting 25 watts superfast charging, you're getting 128 gigabytes of storage, and my model here has eight gigabytes of ram. We have from what I'm seeing on the spec sheets, an identical camera to that of the a71, which is an okay camera and the most noteworthy feature is the 7 000 William hour battery. That's right, 7 000! This phone is huge in terms of its thickness.

It is way thicker than even the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra, but it's actually lighter than the s20 ultra. So I'm curious to see how this phone feels in the hand what it's actually like, carrying around a 7 000 William hour battery for point of reference. The a71 has a 4500 William hour battery, so a humongous difference. So let's go ahead and take a look at the galaxy m51 top. We have our device.

Oh man, that's feeling pretty heavy. Let's check out what else we get in the box great to see this in the box of the phone with such a huge battery, we have a 25 watt superfast charger and for those that live in the United States. If you order this phone you're going to get a US plug adapter, along with the phone we're also getting a nice pair of earbuds in the box. Alongside of this phone, it does have a headphone jack. In addition to an USB type-c to type-c charging cable on the top of the box, we have our sim ejection tool in addition to some paperwork, but with that out of the way, let's go ahead and check out the galaxy m51.

So we have an infinity o display on this, which is very nice. We do not have a teardrop design. You have that centered hole punch, cut out great to see that again, the quad camera setup same on the a71, and we'll definitely be testing out this battery a bit in the course of this unboxing and first impressions, video wow. This phone is huge and glossy and reflective. So we have the celestial black color here, and this also comes in an electric blue color.

You can see here the extreme thickness of this phone. You may not see it much on camera here, but that thickness is definitely there we'll have to see whether that's a nuisance in some general use. Here on the right side. Here we have our volume rockers and our power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. I love that this phone has a physical fingerprint scanner, definitely going to be testing that out on the left side.

Here we have our sim tray at the top, and we have a dual sim set up here in addition to a micro SD card slot, on the top we have a mic and on the bottom we have a headphone jack type c port. Another mic and a speaker grille, so let's go ahead and boot up this beast of a phone all right. So, as you can see, similar display setup here is on the a71. We have the same size hole, punch, cutout. This is the larger hole, punch cutout compared to some other phones like the galaxy s20 Fe.

That does have a smaller one. It's also worth mentioning. We have a flat display here on the m51 does not go around the edges. This is something that's been bothering me honestly on my note, 20 ultra just hitting those edges whenever I'm trying to do things so any phone that has the flat display, I'm certainly okay with, but I'm going to go ahead, set this phone up, going to use it for several hours and come back with my first impressions, all right, so I've been using the galaxy m51 for the last six hours or so, and I have to tell you guys: I'm really liking this device, starting with getting into the phone. The fingerprint sensor on the side is a huge win, just love that the display just instantly pops on as soon as you lay your finger on there.

There is also facial recognition, which will also get you into your phone pretty much just as fast, but honestly with that fingerprint sensor there and just where it naturally sits with where your thumb will be. When you pick up your phone, it's just so nice to be able to quickly get in, and, of course, when you open up the phone you're greeted with the 6.7 inch super AMOLED plus display. This is an amazing display. Here I love the 6.7 inch size. I think it's pretty clear that this is a bigger phone, so you already know that coming into it, and it definitely satisfies the need for a large display experience.

I mean everything just looks great if you're just online shopping, if you're watching content on YouTube, if you're playing games just know that anything you do on this display, it is going to look great quickly touching on the overall feel of the phone and discussing its larger size. You get used to it. It's just like any other new tech once you use it for a little while you get used to it. It definitely feels weird going back and picking up a standard size slab of a smartphone. Furthermore, it makes it feel super thin in comparison like the galaxy a71 here, and this is definitely a chunkier phone.

So you have to keep that in mind if you're looking to pick this phone up but again, like I just said you get used to it, and I didn't have any issues at all, except when stowing it in my athletic shorts, and it would pretty much pull my pants down. But if you're wearing jeans or khakis or pretty much anything else, the weight of the phone isn't going to be an issue even when you're laying down in bed or something and watching some YouTube in bed. It's really not too heavy to hold up or anything, and it just has a nice, rounded feeling on all the sides. So it does form to your hand very well, it's not a huge boxy type of shape of phone. It's nice that it is rounded, so it just has a great feel in the hand- and some of you may actually like that added bulk and heft regarding general use of the phone I've been enjoying every minute of using this device just scrolling through YouTube and watching some content just doing a lot of online shopping and stuff.

You can see, there's just no lag at all and also just knowing that this has the same chipset as the galaxy a71, which this is a phone that I have highly recommended here on the channel and a lot of you really like this phone. I am not surprised at all that this has been an overall great initial experience. Gaming has also been great here on the galaxy m51. I think this device is going to be great for anybody looking to play any type of mobile game. So I'm going to show you some samples here of Call of Duty, mobile, PUBG and star dew valley.

So now what you've probably been waiting for the battery life. So let's go ahead and jump into the battery use here. I think you guys are going to be blown away at some of these results. So, as you can see here when I took the phone out of the box and turned it on for the first time it had around 50 battery and after completely setting everything up on the phone downloading tons of apps, and I'll get into some of my use cases here, but five hours of screen on time only used about 25 to 30 percent of the battery, just absolutely crazy. Some phones out there on the market, you hit five hours, and it's completely dead and gone, and this only took about a quarter of its battery, which is just insane so our first test here we watched YouTube for two hours, and it only took 10 of the battery just going on a complete YouTube binge and only taking 10 percent of the total battery is crazy.

Next, I did some online shopping for about 30 minutes on slick deals and Amazon, and it used about three and a half percent of the battery in 30 minutes time. So these apps have a bright white display and using them for 30 minutes. Scrolling through a bunch of different things, opening and searching and doing a lot of tasks, it only used three and a half percent in just 30 minutes. Next, jumping into some gaming Call of Duty, mobile played for 30 minutes only took about two and a half percent battery, so that equates to about five percent battery every hour. So again, like the YouTube example, if you just go on a gaming, binge just have a nice gaming session for a couple of hours, you're only going to lose about 10 percent of your battery, 20 minutes or so of web browsing only took 1.6 percent of battery and my entire time of setting up the phone and organizing apps and setting up widgets and stuff like that on. The home screen only took 2.7 percent of the battery, which, usually, when I set up these phones in these unboxing videos, a ton of battery is drained from these few examples. Here.

I think it's pretty clear to see that the battery life is crazy on this guy, but that, of course, is the biggest selling point of this phone, and it's definitely living up to expectations. Initially, here we're basically getting a galaxy a71, which has been a great phone for pretty much the last year at this point, and we're getting that phone with an additional size battery. It is a great package here and first impressions, I'm really impressed with the galaxy m51. But what are your thoughts on the galaxy m51?
