So, the galaxy a8 s was launched in China. Yesterday, it's Samsung's first phone with the Infinity Oh style camera cutout in the display for anyone that hasn't seen it yet the galaxy a8 s is a mid-range offering from Samsung. It's got a six point, four in two LCD panel, which contains a cutout in the display for the 24 megapixel front-facing camera, including the camera inside the display, allows them to reduce bezel sizes and provide a better screen to body ratio. They've achieved a screen to body ratio of eighty-four point: seven percent, which is good, but still not as high as some other phones, like the equal way, mate xx with an 88% screen to body ratio. But let's not forget this is a mid-range device and not a flagship. The device is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 710 system-on-chip, with six or eight gigs of RAM.
It has 128 gigs of internal storage, but it also has micros card support, allowing this to be extended by a further 512 and that's not something we see very often in mobiles these days. On the back of the device, we've got a triple camera setup, with a 24, megapixel plus 10 plus 5 configuration and, as you can see it's stacked vertically and in terms of the fingerprint sensor there were rumors suggesting it may be on the side, but, as you can see, it's placed centrally on the back. The phone powered by a 3400 William hour battery with fast charge, support. It also comes with Android 8, Oreo and Samsung experience. UI on top Samsung have unfortunately decided to remove the headphone jack on this device, and it's launching in three colors, blue, green and gray.
The display itself is a six point: four-inch full HD Plus, which is 1080 by 2340 resolution. It's got an aspect. Ratio of nineteen and a half by nine and the camera cut out is a little larger than I expected. But again, let's not forget. This is a mid-range device.
The 24 megapixel camera has an F 2.0 aperture, so it's going to be great for taking selfies the main rear camera is an F 1.7 aperture, along with the 10 megapixel telephoto sensor at F 2.4, and this one can also offer two times: optical zoom. The third 5 megapixel camera is for depth, and it's got an aperture of f-22. So Samsung have yet to reveal the price on this phone, but it is confusing me a little. I do like it, but at the same time the camera cut out is a lot bigger than I expected I. Think realistically, I'm going to have to see one in person before I can pass any judgment, and I'm secretly hoping the s10 range is gonna.
Have a slightly smaller camera cut out. The s10 range will, of course, be using OLED panels instead of LCD's, but Samsung have also got competition in the market. Here, with the honor view xx and the qua win over for these devices also have the camera cut out and use LCD screens, although the displays come from BOE instead of Samsung, but the advantage took while ways offering is that it will be using the Kira 9 87 nanometer system-on-chip, which is a lot more powerful than the snapdragon 710. So it's going to be interesting to see how this phone performs against them in China. As always, though, I'd like to know your thoughts down in the comments below, is this a phone you would purchase, or would you go for the more powerful offering from Huawei personally? For me, it would depend on prices, but if the Nova 4 is around the same cost, then it would simply be a no-brainer.
