This video is brought to you by graphics, talk, hey guys, Asha from c4e Tech and in today's video, let's check out the new galaxy a8, the 2016 edition from Samsung, so here's the box that it comes in a big. Thank you to our customs officials for the blue residue from the sealed bag customs tape. They stack on it anyway. Opening it up. We've got the 2016 itself. This time around I have to pick the color variant and I went with blue.
Let's peel the plastic off initial impressions. I like this color looks cool. We then have the sim ejector to the warranty card and a Quick Start Guide, which aren't in English since I imported this phone, then there's a micro, USB, cable, yeah, micro, USB, not type-c. A travel adapter supports adaptive fast charging, and then there are your phones's weirdly, no replaceable gear tips. Let's now quickly take a look at the placements to the front.
On top, we've got an 8 megapixel front facing camera. The earpiece sensors, that's followed by Samsung branding and a 5.7 inch display to the bottom. We've got the regular setup of a physical home key, flanked by capacitive recent apps and back keys, which are backlit. This HOME key has a fingerprint scanner built-in and, unlike the one found on the j7 Prime, this is not an active scanner. You need to press the HOME key for it to scan your fingerprint.
It feels fast. We've got an all-metal bark and the plastic antenna lines run around it. We've got the Samsung logo and, above that, the 16 megapixel camera, with an F 1.9 aperture, no optical image. Stabilization, though there's also a single LED flash. We've got the power button on the speaker to the right.
The secondary noise, cancelling microphones found up top the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack primary microphone and the microUSB port are found at the bottom. Like I said earlier, I really wish they'd gone with that see here anyway, the volume rockers and a tray are located to the left. This tray houses two slots a SIM and a hybrid slot that takes either another sim or a micro SD card. Overall, the 8 2016 fields were built, I, don't like the antenna bands. My OCD gets triggered here.
I feel they should have either uniformly leaded frame. Let it run around the middle neck. Picking apart, the build quality seems good. The seven point two millimeter thickness makes the film feel slick hundred and 80 gram way it seems evenly distributed and the eight twenty sixteen feels nice and hard moving on Samsung's gone with a full HD Super AMOLED display here when spread over five point, seven inches. It results in a pixel density of about three hundred and eighty-five pixels per inch.
This display is also covered by a 2.5 D Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. The images that you're seeing here are from a sponsor graphic stock has the largest unlimited library of over 300,000 graphics, photos, vector, is and images, unlike most of the websites, will charge you as much as $30 for an image. Graphic stock gives you unlimited downloads for one flat annual fee I've actually been using their banner templates for a few video thumbnails. Now and as of now, they are offering $50 off the regular annual membership. Coming back to the 2016 underneath the hood. This phone is powered by a 64-bit Enos 7420 chip, three gigs of ram and 32 gigs of on-board storage. If that feels familiar to you, that's because those are the same internals from the Galaxy S6 and s6 edge from last year. So this has last year's flagship, Enos chip, but no Hera scope sensor. Hmm, a 2016 is running on android 6 marshmallow with the latest Touch ID.
On top grace, he works similar to what we've seen on the note 7 your regular features like multi window and floating window for better multitasking team support to customize the look and feel they're all present and accounted for Samsung's additionally thrown in the always-on display functionality. That's said, with the 2016 Samsung's again gone ahead and disabled haptic feedback. It was present and available on the last generation. A8, but now maybe because the a9 exists, Samsung has disabled it again. It still is usable with third-party keyboards like Swift key, but you cannot enable it for your capacitive keys with the camera.
The shadow response seems fast, but just the hardware being capable of 4k video recording Samsung's again not enabled it here. The manual mode is depreciated to ever. Here are a few quick samples that we shot around the office. What do you think about this camera? Let me know in the comments below this phone is priced at around five hundred: seventy-five dollars in South Korea, that's about thirty-nine thousand Indian rupees! It is not on sale in India yet, but given that Samsung did launch the a8 and the a9 pro, this might make its way to India in the future. So, anyway, guys I'll test this phone and have a review for you in a couple of weeks.
