POCO M3 Unboxing - The Weird TRUTH! By C4ETech

Another day, another well almost rebranded phone, I really don't know. What's going on with Xiaomi Redmi polo, whatever I mean it was supposed to be Xiaomi being the premium one Redmi the budget, one and Poco well, that was the no frills value for money flagship, but over time, the differences between these brands, it's kind of shrunk right. Now, it's almost non-existent, and now we've had multiple rebrands between them. We recently saw the meat NI, which was nothing but the Redmi Note 9 5g with me branding and today the Poco m3. Well, this is not entirely a rebranding, not exactly you know. You know what I'm getting ahead of myself.

Let's first get things out of the box and then talk about everything: Poco m3, hey guys, ash here from c4e tech and if you do end up finding this video interesting subscribe turn on notifications by hitting the bell icon, let's now get started, so this is the box that the Poco m3 comes in very understated minimal. I, like the look of it. The selling point here is that six thousand William hour battery, which is mentioned right up top. This is the 464 variant. Cool blue color Poco also happens to offer the m3 in power black and polo.

Yellow the Poco yellow really stands out. It looks really great, at least in my opinion. Anyway, let's open up the box, there's a yellow, insert they've got this complete, yellow theme going for this. This holds a sim ejector pen, the user guide, warranty booklet and a soft case which we've come to expect from homophones, and I always appreciate it. Next we have the Poco m3, taking it out of that plastic protective cover, let's get it to boot and as it does be done with the other box contents, so we have a 22 and a half watt travel adapter, and apart from that, there's just an USB type-c cable.

So that's pretty much it for the unboxing part. Let's now focus on the Poco m3. This phone is very similar to the Redmi 9 power sold in India. In fact, it is so similar that I can do this. If I were to tell the similarities between this and the Redmi Note 9 4g from China and the Redmi 9 power.

That would pretty much be the entire spec list, so instead, let me tell you guys the one difference between these three, the Redmi 9 power comes with quad cameras, the note 9 4g and the Poco m3. They have three cameras, see that's how much we can reuse footage, given that's how much polo's reused existing design and specs. Now jokes apart. Here's the difference, the Redmi 9 power. It's got 4 cameras, a 48, megapixel, f, 1.8 primary. Then we have an 8 megapixel ultra provided 2 megapixel macro 2 megapixel depth, sensor, Redmi, note: 9 4g.

It cuts out that macro, which you know it's just a macro sensor, but now with the Poco m3, there is a sensor cut. This is also a triple camera setup, but this time the more important ultraviolet gets cut. So, yes, we get one proper, 48, megapixel, f, 1.8 and that's accompanied by two 2 megapixel sensors for macro and depth, which, like I've, always said they just along for the ride. Now the primary it isn't really anything to write home about. It needs ample light to get decent shots.

When that is light, though the results seem pretty good but indoors and under low light, despite there being a dedicated night mode, the camera falls apart, as you can see, with video you're limited to 1080p at 30fps, and that too, without stabilization. So the footage- I wouldn't call it usable it's more of the same with the selfie camera footage too actual selfies themselves turned out to be surprisingly good for the segment they're, actually very good, from detail to dynamic range polo's done well here the camera software, though it's pretty slow. Now it's not slow to shoot pictures. The shutter itself is quite responsive, but switching between modes swiping. Turning on the camera app jumping to the gallery, it all invokes bad memories of old tattoos, for me doesn't feel as smooth as the 662 android.10 combination is expected to be, and now it's not just with the camera. The entire software experience was pretty similar.

I noticed quite a few lag spikes and the limited time that I spent with this phone- nothing horrible, but the experience it wasn't very smooth. Uh we've had we've seen better performing phones in this segment. Even from Redmi, for example, the Redmi Note 9 with that hello chip, if my memory serves me right, it performed much better now. Here we have the Qualcomm snapdragon 662 and for those wondering yes, the motor implementation was also better. It felt smoother.

That said, mini 12 is as future practice ever. The fingerprint scanner is reasonably fast face. Unlock is present and works. Well, the new control center is available, and this here is the Poco launcher, with regular order sorting of apps into categories the UI. It's definitely usable.

You just need to be willing to put up with the occasional stutter here and there. It is worth noting that my 464 variant comes with UFS 2.1 storage, while the 128 gig variant, it has the newer and, more importantly, faster UFS, 2.2 storage, so maybe performance could be, or rather should be, a tad snappier there. Now the display. It's quite nice. We've seen this before it's a 6.53 inch panel, full HD plus resolution. The tech used here is IPS LCD and the panel happens to be covered by corning's gorilla glass 3.

Now, given the full HD plus resolution uh, the text is sharp and IPS means the colors are vibrant, there's even white wine l1 for HD videos on streaming platforms. That said, there are a couple of cons, though the brightness levels for one aren't great and the viewing angles I mean. You know in the last few years, almost every phone that I've covered I've said something like blah blah blah colors blah blah blah sharpness and excellent viewing angles. You know I've said that not because I like saying it, but because almost every phone's display these days. The viewing angles are excellent, but polo's changed that here with the m3.

The viewing angles aren't good, there's just too much of a brightness loss as you move away from looking at this display head on and that in 2020 2021 feels unacceptable. At least the notch is unobtrusive, and the bezels are slim now remember. The footprint is exactly the same as the other phones I mentioned earlier. I and the button placements they're also identical, so we get the dedicated micro SD, there's an IR blaster the thickness the weight. It's all identical like I said, but the back that's different.

We have some texture here and the big bold Poco logo on plastic. Yes, the black up top, that's plastic too, and I'm not really a fan of this huge logo, whether it's from realm or polo, large logos, I feel they're a huge. No, I mean you are paying for the phone right, it's not like they're, paying you to advertise, it is a walking billboard, at least that's how I feel. What do you think large logos, yay or nay? Let me know in the comments below now. Moving on this form factor means the phone is more optimized for use with both hands.

I do like the grip. This textured back adds and the 198 gram weight for a phone that heavy the m3 doesn't really feel all that heavy. So it's a job well down the weight distribution, and it is quite interesting to remember that there is a six thousand William hour battery on the inside six thousand my twenty-two and a half more charging. That's a good combination! Now guys, I'm a fan of tech tablets, so I want to take the time to share this one line from the tablet's coverage of this phone. I've I mean I was okay, you know what you see it.

I can't recommend this. Furthermore, I just can't, I can't get behind it because I don't want to put my name behind a phone like this and say: yeah go out and buy it. It's a value champ, it's a battery king, it's amazing, wow, clickbait, thumbnail, now and that's pretty true. The Poco m3 seems to have one compromise too many to justify that price tag. Oh yeah, I didn't mention the price.

Did I this phone starts at 150 dollars, so if it were to launch in India, I expect it to be priced the same as the Redmi Note, 9, or maybe even a thousand rupees lesser? Let's say 11 000, and even at that price point I'd say: pay more and get the Redmi Note 9. Instead, the loss of ultra-wide the step-down and processing power, it just seems like one corner too many has been cut, at least that's my initial impression of this phone. So what do you think?
