Welcome to the Poco m3 camera review, this high-end phone has caught everyone's attention because of its phenomenal spec sheet under a very user-friendly budget. One of the biggest highlights of this phone is its 48 megapixels main camera sensor. So today we are going to take a look at a number of photos shot on the Poco m3. Before I take you to the photos, let me tell you a little about this phone Poco m3 is equipped with a 48 megapixels main camera. The sensor on this phone is still unknown. It's got 2 megapixels macro and a 2 megapixel depth camera no ultra white camera.

Here on the front, it uses a single 8, megapixels camera. This phone is using the image processing of the snapdragon 662 chipsets. As far as the camera app is concerned, this is a basic mini, 12 application. The app welcomes you with the photo mode, the macro camera and the frame options reside in the options an if you want to capture the 48 megapixel photos. You will turn that mode on from the more options.

In the same more options, you can also find the night mode, which I will show you later on in this video there's a short video mode, the panorama document, scanner, a very basic slow motion, feature and a time-lapse, option as well. This phone can do 1080p at 30 frames per second video from its rear camera and the same from its front camera, no 1080, 60fps or 4k option. Here. I think you can't expect that from such a phone, the pro mode is good. There's a raw save option here too, and it has a pro video mode as well.

So the camera app is definitely much more powerful and feature rich than its competitors in the same price segment. Right now- and here is your look at the camera application settings, I have shot a number of images on this phone and these images were shot in all the modes in different possible environments and, let's start it off with the selfies, the indoor selfies. First, as you can see, the selfies are extremely soft. The selfie tone is cool. There are almost no details in the selfies.

If you look at the background, the background has a greenish tint. The portrait has a really nice and strong background blur and the edge detection is fine. It is not wiping off unnecessary edges in the portrait mode. I won't say this phone takes bad selfies because it is a high-end phone, and it has a very cheap price tag, and I am sure you know how to manage your expectations from such a phone here in this selfie. It has completely blown off the background.

It overexposes the image. Sometimes the phone is unable to manage the dynamic range. I took the images with the HDR turned off and the AI turned on, and this is what you get. This is my favorite selfie from this phone, and this selfie made me realize that this phone can actually sometimes take good selfies too, so the selfie choice is going to depend on what you are looking for and what you are expecting from this phone.

Yes, the selfies lack details, the dynamic range and the highlights' management is not good at all. The selfies are super soft, but if you take a look at the image overall, you can't say that it is an unacceptable image. We are living in an age where we can't post a single picture without a filter, so consider that the Pogo m3 is pre-applying a load of filters on your selfies. Moving on to the outdoor pictures short on the rear camera. This is a series of 48 megapixel images.

These images in no way look like 48 megapixels to me, because these pictures should have been well detailed and super high in resolution. These images lack details. The phone over exposes the highlights. This looks like a constant problem. In all such images, the dynamic range is not very impressive.

The phone keeps the colors balanced in such situations. The normal 12 megapixel image compromises further on the details, but has a slightly better dynamic range and the portrait image comes out really well. This is where this phone surprised me for the second time check out the depth effect that 2 megapixel step sensor definitely does its job. Well, no unnecessary edges wiped off here at all as well. Let me show you 48 megapixels versus a normal versus a portrait image together.

The image in the middle has the best color composition and the portrait stands out, while the 48 megapixel image is nothing more than a gaming. Let's take a look at more outdoor images. This phone makes the shadows look darker and makes the highlights look brighter, but it can be seen that to achieve a background blur, you don't always have to shoot in the portrait mode, even when you are shooting in the normal mode. The phone itself can focus on the subject and separate it. From the background very nicely.

The details in some of these images are perfect and in some images the details are completely blown off. Overall, the images look good to me. The phone struggles, sometimes while capturing the reds, the reds, look soft, but this doesn't happen all the time. It totally depends on how you are shooting as well. Only there is no is or as here. I know this video is extremely shaky, and it can literally give you a headache, but this is what's going to happen when you will shoot handheld with this phone. Video resolution is poor. It is clearly unacceptable. The dynamic range in this video is this.

One clearly is not built for shooting any kind of videos. You will take a look at the front camera video after this hi guys uh hi guys. This is the front camera of uh, the Poco m3. Now this front camera is making my face. Look extra, vibrant! I wasn't expecting this uh, the colors look, fine to me.

It's capturing the reds well, but if you look in the background, it's blowing off the highlights it's unable to maintain a good explore it's over exposing the background completely. So this video is going to give you an idea about the stabilization and also everything else that you want to check in the front camera of a smartphone. Now this is a 1080p at 30 frames per second video, and this is being shot handheld, so guys uh. The constant reminder about the price helped me keep my expectations really low, and I must say that this phone met my low expectations.

This phone can take average photos normal selfies. It can take very good portraits from both the front and the rear cameras, its nine mode works. Well, the video resolution is quite poor, but that might not be your primary requirement when you are picking this phone up. Apart from its cameras, this phone also has a big 6000 my battery and a snapdragon 662 chipsets. So the camera, combined with that set of hardware, does deliver an acceptable result, and it gets my recommendation.
