So today I bring you a head-to-head comparison between the brand new Google Pixel 4a versus the Google Pixel 4. So welcome back to the channel, I'm high- and I hope you all are having an amazing day, and here they both are side by side in my hands. Now. The first thing to mention is the design. So, for the very first time we have seen a pixel smartphone, lose the old school bezel design and have gone with a full view display with a hole punch camera. Now both phones have a full HD plus OLED display, with over 440 pixels per inch.

However, the Pixel 4a has a 5.81-inch screen and the pixel 4 has a 5.7-inch screen. Also, the Pixel 4a is 144 millimeters in height and weighs only 143 grams and the pixel 4 is 147 millimeters in height and weighs 162 grams. So the Pixel 4a has an impressive design. It's lighter, smaller in overall size, and you're, getting a larger display than the flagship pixel 4. Now the build quality is different.

Considering pixel 4 is a flagship device and cost nearly double in price you're. Getting a metal frame and orange matte finish with ip68 water resistant rating. The Pixel 4a, however, is a budget mid-ranger made from polycarbonate unibody, with a matte black finish and no IP rating. Now, if we talk about processing power, both smartphones are powered by a snapdragon chip. The Pixel 4a has the snapdragon 730 with arena 618 graphics and the pixel 4 has the snapdragon 855 with the arena 640 graphics.

So to no surprise, the flagship pixel 4 has a much powerful chip with a benchmark score of 344k and the Pixel 4a achieved 275k. And if you have a quick look at my top performing smartphone chart of 2020, you will notice the Google Pixel 4a, ranked at position 43 with a benchmark score of 275k, and the Google Pixel 4 is ranked much higher at position 35 with a benchmark score of 344k. Now, let's talk about pricing. The Pixel 4a is only 349 and the pixel 4 costs 669. Now, for that price, both smartphones come with six gigs of lpddr4 ram, but the Pixel 4a actually comes with double the storage, so you're getting 128 gigs of internal storage and the pixel 4 comes with only 64 gigs of internal storage, and I did test out the internal storage speeds and the Pixel 4a achieved.

Read: speeds of 456 megabytes per second and write speeds of 216 and the pixel 4 achieved. Read: speeds of 295 and write speeds of 92, so it looks like we have a faster internal storage in the new Pixel 4a. Now the Pixel 4a has a rear, fingerprint sensor, which is nice and easy to reach, and it's fairly quick and accurate at unlocking your smartphone. However, the pixel 4 does not have any fingerprint sensor at all and relies on face ID to unlock your smartphone. Now coming to the cameras, the Pixel 4a has a single 12.2 megapixel sensor, with an f 1.7 aperture and the pixel 4 has a dual camera setup: 16 megapixels and a 12.2 megapixel sensor, now being a pixel device. You know the cameras are going to be amazing, and you can see from these various comparisons.

Both smartphones take equally great looking photos in good lighting situations. Dynamic range is also pretty good on both now the following shots were taken completely in the dark, and I was once again impressed with the results. Night sight mode done a great job on both smartphones and there is not much between them to me. They seem near identical results. So, let's see how the video test goes now here are the video samples you can shoot a maximum of 4k at 30 frames per second, with optical image, stabilization on both smartphones.

Now, video quality is very good natural colors, with crispy footage and super stabilization, and again the results look identical, so we do indeed have the same flagship primary sensor in the Pixel 4a, giving you the same awesome results of the pixel 4 at nearly half the price. Now, if we talk about battery life, the Pixel 4a has a 3100 3140 William hour battery and the pixel 4 has a 2 800 William hour battery pixel 4 battery life is not great. With medium to heavy usage, you will need the charger before you end the day. Now the Pixel 4a does a better job. It has a slightly more energy efficient chip, which is also less power, demanding and so medium to heavy usage can get you through the day with around 10 to 15 battery left in the morning.

So there you have it guys. That was my quick head-to-head comparison between the Google Pixel 4a versus the Google Pixel 4. , covering the main specs' camera performance and lots more. So the pixel 4 is no doubt a powerful flagship. Smartphone, it has a better overall performance, but you're, getting a slightly smaller display with bigger bezels and slightly bigger form factor and also heavier.

Now the pixel 4 is also premium build quality and comes with dual cameras, but for nearly half the price one cannot ignore the Google Pixel 4a you're, getting a very good mid-range performance with double the storage capacity as standard a lighter and more compact smartphone, with a larger full screen display than the flagship pixel 4. , and it's also a lot lighter. Now the Pixel 4a has many of the features found in the pixel 4, but with lots of new features added now I have not talked about the new features yet, as I am planning another video very soon. Now, if you had to pick one of these smartphones based on just the design of the front which one would you go for and after actually spending time with both smartphones, I have to say: Google has a real winner in their hands with the Google Pixel 4a, it looks like Google is listening to the people. The previous pixel 4 had a lot of flaws in its design.

Now we are talking about the battery life, lack of fingerprint sensor, lack of headphone jack and a few other issues which have all been rectified in this new model. Now the Pixel 4a is, in my opinion, one of the best mid-range budget smartphones. You can buy right now at this price point and the only two phones which I can see that will really challenge. This is the OnePlus word and the iPhone SE 2020 model. Now, if you've not had a pixel smartphone before then this is definitely the one you need to consider, and I can tell you right now: the camera is simply amazing, especially at this price point.
