Pixel 2 XL Unboxing & First Impressions! By Zachary Anderson

Hey, what's good guys, exact hope you all are doing well, as you can probably tell I, am super excited to bring you guys this video just a little while ago, the FedEx guy dropped off my pixel to excel, and I cannot wait to get it out of the box, which is interesting because I'm still talking and not getting the phone out of the box, so uh yeah. Let's, let's do just that! Take a quick look around the box here! Hashtag team pixel! Yes, yes, yes! Indeed, and yeah- that's pretty much it! You guys already know about my favorite unboxing knife. Gotta love this alright, so I think there's tape right here. Alright, so let's go ahead and cut that there we go that has been cut put this away, so you don't hurt ourselves later, alright! So let's go ahead and you guys know how I say: let's go ahead! A lot, so I did get the black model. As you can tell right. There I wanted the panda model at first, but then you know it wasn't available.

So I couldn't get it. So here we go. Here's the pixel to excel, but, as you know, as we always do in unboxing, is going to put that off to the side and see what else we get in the box just basic stuff. Alright, it says: hey welcome to hashtag, team pixel! Thank you and pull this tab here, probably get all of our manuals and whatnot thinks that we don't really need. You know, pay attention to have our adapter full USB, USB type-c.

On the other end, that's cool and underneath here yeah the dongle, which has been lowered down to $10. If you want to buy it separately, which is actually a nice gesture, at least it's not $20 anymore. Here is our charging cable. If I could get this out, that'd be cool. Alright, nice charging, cable, USB, C, 2, USB-C, because our wall adapter is also USB-C.

Alright, there you go no I like putting things back in the box, because I already have the accessories that I want to use. Oh my gosh, I'm, an idiot. Ok, there we go, but of course, as you guys already know, this does mean the unfortunate death of the headphone jack I have been on the side of oh, my gosh I want the headphone jack, but really it is time for us to move on. So please, let's do so it's just time for us to move on some. At least some of you guys agree with me as I get notifications on my phone deep, some of you breathing please, anyway, all right.

So here we go pixel to XL. I could just slide the phone out the top, but I'm going to go ahead and use this little plastic tab here to unwrap it there it is there. It is guys pixel to excel in the flesh. Now I went ahead, and I played with this at the Verizon store a little while ago got my full impressions there. Actually, if not full impressions more like first impressions there, but yes full impressions here with it in my hand as my own phone that I bought.

So let's go ahead and boot it up here see if you have any juice there we go. There's that six inch display now speaking about the display, a lot of people were like you know, this screen is washed out. The colors look washed out: it's horrible. It's a bad screen letter that it looking at it here in person, and you know having it in my hand for the first time, I definitely see what people are talking about. But honestly, it's not that bad trust me it's not absolutely horrible.

It is not as good as Samsung's AMOLED displays, of course, but it's still not that bad, so I'm going to go ahead and toss my sim card in here, because I want to use it as my daily. Alright SIM card is now in the phone going to go ahead and set up the fingerprint reader there on the back. Definitely like the placement. So let's go ahead and get this started see what this is all about. I, let's just do a random passcode, honestly I'll just do that! Don't worry, I'm, going to change it later.

You guys, like oh I, know your passcode. No, you don't because it'll be different by the time you see this video okay. So, let's go ahead, hit the fingerprint reader on the back. Alright, it's pretty accurate, very accurate. Okay didn't have to reposition at all.

Let's go ahead and add my left index finger real, quick, alright wow. This is actually one of the fastest setups I've ever been through. Alright. That was really easy. That was really nice I, like that, alright, so upon first impressions.

So far again, the screen isn't as bad as people are saying. If I definitely see what they're saying you know. The colors are a little toned down compared to current displays, but it's actually not that horrible. It's just not on the same level as Samsung's, AMOLED and I can see where people are coming from. Definitely we have been spoiled by those displays, but Google is like you know what hey we can release some software updates and get you guys, some more color profiles and stuff like that later on, if you guys make enough noise about it, so there you go, but so yeah, so vibration motor is actually really saw.

I like that, that's cool, let's go ahead and do some size comparisons. Why not all right here? It is next to my Galaxy Note 8, of course, with that pixel to inspire it set up. Looking good, of course, the screen bezel comparison is really no comparison, but you know just so you guys can get a better idea of how big this phone is. There you go so what it looks like all right, let's go ahead and do subscribe. The LGA 30 right here alright here it is next to the LGA 30.

Let's, let's increase the brightness a little. Shall we alright there? You go, didn't really do that much, but there you go, there's a size comparison to the LG V 30. For those of you that really just don't know. This phone is actually built by LG, which is kind of interesting, and why not compare it to the iPhone 8 plus, alright, there. It is next to the iPhone 8 plus right there bezels the screen again, no comparison in terms of size and why not compare it to its predecessor, the Google Pixel, the original Google Pixel, with that Google Pixel to launcher, so I will be doing a one-year later.

Video on this phone, because I really still I love it to this day. I love it so there you guys go some size comparisons right there, some screen comparisons too and yeah. So let's talk about this one, a little more before I end the video squeeze for your assistant. It actually works pretty well, I, don't know if I'll use it. It is a little on the gimmicky side, but of course you can just turn it off.

Some people are saying that they wish that you know they could remap this feature, so it can open up the camera or something I can definitely see where oh, my gosh I'm getting notifications on all my phones right now. Okay, so but yeah, it's there I mean, especially since you can just get to Google assistant with a long press of the home button, but it's there, and it's not a huge deal. I think it's kind of cool I might use it we'll see, but yeah. So there's that on the right hand, side volume rocker power button, which is not textured, I kind of like the textured button on the regular pixel. The first pixel it is a textured button, kind of which HTC could have built the XL as well, but that's, okay, nothing on the left hand, side other than the SIM card slot and yeah there's the camera or the visor on the back fingerprint reader.

Of course, only one camera man fingerprints, all over that, unlike the phone, let's, let's just test out the fingerprint reader, real, quick, alright, so there's our always-on display my doorbell just rang I will be right back all right. It was the UPS man. Let's go ahead and test out this fingerprint reader. Okay, that's actually really quick. Let's see alright, that's not too bad! Yeah, I like that.

Okay, what else can we do? I guess we'll bounce into the camera? Real, quick, alright! So there's the camera and I already know this. This is gonna, be a great camera, so I'm not really gonna. Do too much of a test right now, but man this camera's gonna, be nice. I can already tell there's the camera. We can do the front-facing speakers real, quick, alright watching one of my own videos.

This isn't weird at all. Oh, wow! Oh yeah, okay, this is the best Android, apps, October 17 in case you guys missed that one yeah, the video is live on my channel so but yeah the speakers get really loud, and they sound good. Let's see, okay, I can deal with that. I've always loved front-facing speakers, and they sound perfect here. So you guys would love that alright, so pretty much everything going on with you pixel to excel it's good.

Of course, it's water-resistant and everything going to take the camera out and really put it to the test. Yeah. You guys will see this review on the Android police Channel, not too long from now. Anyway. That's pretty much it for the unboxing and first impressions, video I really like the hardware.

The camera is gonna, be nice, of course it's metal, but it's coated in something it's nice, and it's drippy, it's not nearly as slippery as those other phones. So there's that front-facing speakers are perfect and yeah. That's pretty much it for now guys I'm liking. The hardware of course I'm going to love the software, and that is pretty much. If I've said that what about three or four times already?
