Hey guys Adam logo here from Adam logo TV and in this video I'll, be doing a comparison between the Oppo RINO 4 pro against the Samsung Galaxy s20 to help you make a purchase decision so keep watching now, let's start with the overall design and build now. The Oppo Renault 4 pros front screen is larger at 6.5 inches compared to the s26.2 inch display. So you are getting more screen real estate on the Renault 4 pro, especially with this 3d borderless sense design and the camera hole punch is on the left, which I kind of prefer compared to the middle on the Samsung s20. Now, since the s20 is a flagship device category, it gives you the option to go up to 120 hertz at FHD plus, but even though the Oppo Renault 4 pro is a higher mid-range phone, it does give you up to 90 hertz of refresh rate, which is really nice to know, and on top of that, the Oppo Renault 4 pro also comes with a TUV rain land full care display. So your eyes are more protected when using the phone, then looking at the back of the phone. I love the matte finish on the Oppo Renault 4 pro, which not only gives the phone a very premium look on a high mid-range phone, but it doesn't attract fingerprints, and it also grips better in the hands compared to the glossy glass back finish on the s20, where just in case you guys have butter fingers like me, you might need a case to go with the Samsung Galaxy s20, since there is the potential of the phone slipping away for glossy rear smartphones, then looking at the sites, not only that the Oppo Renault 4 pro was thinner than the s20, but it was also lighter at 161.6 grams compared to the s20 at 164.3 grams, in weight. So by numbers it seems like the difference is minimal, but based on me, holding both phones together, I could surely feel that the Oppo Renault 4 pro was lighter.
So it's great to know that, despite all the powerful hardware, the phone is still light. Alright. Next, let's look at the overall camera features. Firstly, looking at the specs of the Oppo Renault 4 pro it comes with a 48 megapixel, f, 1.7, aperture and 8 megapixel f, 2.2, ultra-wide lens, a 2, megapixel, f, 2.4 macro camera and a 2 megapixel f 2.4 depth sensor, then the Samsung Galaxy s20 has a 12 megapixel, f, 1.8 aperture, a 64 megapixel 2.0 telephoto lens and a 12 megapixel f, 2.2 ultra-wide lens, then looking at the front camera, the Oppo Renault 4 pro comes with a bigger 32, megapixel, f 2.4 camera compared to the 10 megapixel f, 2.2 aperture lens on the Samsung Galaxy s20. Now, starting from the high resolution modes on both phones cameras.
Since the s20 comes with a higher megapixel count, you are surely to get a bit more resolution in those pictures. But again, as I mentioned in my other reviews, users in general do not really use this mode as it does take a lot of storage space. So when comparing both of the regular shots- as I mentioned before in my full video review of the Oppo Renault 4 pro, the images always had a more real to live image processing compared to other smartphones they have tested. So it was the case when compared with the s20, then the overall color accuracy was great, especially when taking shots of food. Then looking at the portrait mode and the live focus mode.
Here's where there was a huge difference in quality where there was a better subject to background blur and again with more natural colors and the images on the s20 for the live focus mode was a bit warmer in terms of the color temperature and the images look a bit softer on the skin, even when the beauty mode is turned off, and the portrait mode also looks nicer even under a backlight situation, as seen in this shot for the Oppo Renault 4 pro. Next. Looking at the ultra-wide angle, shots the colors on the Oppo Renault 4 pro did have a more natural colors yet again compared to the s20 where it brings up the saturation, especially on the greens and the blue sky areas. Then the Oppo Renault 4 pro also had better shadows towards the darker areas, as you guys can see in the overall wide angle. Shots even though both has the same aperture value.
Now, since there is a dedicated macro lens on the Oppo Reno 4 pro, it has the advantage over the s20. So if you really love to take the super close-up shots, you will surely appreciate the images on the Oppo Renault 4 pro as it does automatically change into the macro mode in the opposed camera app now before going into the night mode. Shots what's unique about the Oppo Renault 4 pro is, of course, the AI color portrait mode, which looks amazing to take some cool one-of-a-kind shots, as seen over here where it maintains the portrait subject and applies black and white filters at the background to produce a highlighting effect for the subject. And yes, the AI portrait mode is also available for the front camera both for the photos and videos as well. Now, as for the phone's night, shots here is where the Oppo Renault 4 pro, also has the edge over here with the knight flag portrait mode shots, which is a combination of the night mode and portrait both, which is indeed unique, compared to not only the Samsung Galaxy s20, but also other smartphones out right now.
As for these selfie shots, here's where the s20 has the overall advantage of a better exposure control and more pleasing shots for the front facing camera. As seen over here now, let's look at the video taking capabilities, especially on how steady both the videos are now. Firstly, going into the specs the Samsung Galaxy s20 can record up to a massive 8k at 24 frames per second and the Oppo Renault 4 pro can record up to 4k up to 30 frames per second now on paper, the s20 specs are surely higher, but when it comes to comparing both the 4k video, the colors on the Oppo Renault 4 pro had a more cinematic color with a nicer and brighter contrast, which means that you can have more flexibility in post. Now, this time around, the s20 had a cooler, color temperature compared to the Oppo Renault 4 pro. So this could go down to a personal preference.
Then the image stabilization on board was equally good for the main lens, but when comparing the ultra steady mode on the Oppo Renault 4 pro and this super steady mode on the Samsung s20, both records at 1080p and here's where the s20 had just a slight jitter on the video compared to the Oppo Renault 4 pro, since it does record at a higher 60 frames per second when it comes to the frame rate and since the front camera of the s20 records up to 4k. Once again, the videos look nicer on the s20 and, as mentioned earlier, that the AI color portrait for the Oppo Renault 4 pro is also available on the video mode as well, where there are also monochrome video modes where it records and select only colors like red, green and blue in the videos for that added touch of creativity. Next, let's look at the battery comparison, both the Samsung Galaxy s20 and the Oppo Renault 4 pro comes with the same Williams battery of 4 000 Williams. There is wireless charging and a reverse wireless charging on the s20, where it's not present on the Oppo Renault 4 pro, but where the Oppo Renault 4 pro wins, is through the super hook, 2.0 fast charging up to a massive 65 watts compared to 25 watts on the Samsung Galaxy s20, where you can get from zero to 50 battery at about 16 minutes, which was really nice to know which clearly means there will be no battery anxiety when you use the Oppo Renault 4 pro as your daily smartphone of choice and for some reason you are afraid that the Oppo Renault 4 pro can't handle this kind of charging capacity. Well, it has the same certification of the TUV rain land for the safe, fast charging as well.
So yes, no worries over there all right guys. That's my video comparison between the Oppo Reno 4 pro against the Samsung Galaxy s20, of course both have its strength and weaknesses. But the interesting thing is the fact that the Oppo Renault 4 pro is quite comparable with the device of this range. But with this do let me know which device that you guys would choose at the comment section below as looking at the phone's price here in Malaysia, the Oppo Renault 4 pro is going for only 2 399 ringgit 48 gigs of ram with a massive 256 gigs of storage and the Samsung Galaxy s20 is priced at 3599, ringgit, 48, gigs of ram and 128 gigs of storage, and I'll leave links at the description below for you guys to get either. One aside from that.
