I'm boxing the OPPO ace ?, this is basically a flagship phone without the thrills good screen, specs flagship, processor, decent camera and a good design overall. So, let's see what it's got for us: a powerful new phone from Opp, the ACE ?, the successor to the Reno ace. They dropped the Reno branding for this one, but OPPO are basically giving us the best of the best when it comes to the hardware onboard the processor, the charging specs a very fast powerful phone, whilst trying to keep the price down they're, giving us 65 walk fast by charging a perfect spec. It won't really get beaten in the industry. This phone charge is very quick. It also has 40 watt wireless charging as well a perfect spec, but you do need the OPPO wireless power adapter to charge at that quick rate.
There's a mirrored finish as well, but I have this what they called gray, but it's more like blue purple, and it has a shiny back. It also has that Oreo camera bump at the back really good-looking phone. This one I like the way it's put together. It's surprisingly light as well and yeah. It does remind me a lot of the Redmi k 30 pro, and actually these two are pretty much head-to-head when it comes to the specs 48 megapixel main image sensor, 8 megapixel ultra-wide and 2 depth sensors on there.
So no zoom camera on this phone to keep the price a little lower power button on the right hand, side on this phone. It has a green accent, volume rockers. On the left hand, side USB, see no headphone jack in this phone, but it does come with those earphones in the box which have the USB connector perfect. Looking screen as well, it is an OLED screen. It is a full HD plus resolution display no quad HD here.
Those types of specs are saved for the real high-end, expensive ones, they're trying to keep the price lower here, but this phone does have a 90 Hertz refresh rate, just a bump up from the 60 Hertz. It does make a difference when you are gaming. If you are a gaming center person, or you like as much power as you can in your smartphone, then this phone is for you. It is set up to be a gaming centric or a power user type of phone really concentrating on all those specs. It's a really good-looking display and just compared to the K 30 I know.
A lot of people were disappointed that that phone only has Hertz display. If you can deal with the cutout camera, then maybe this run would be for you, with its 90 Hertz display. The display also comes with HDR 10, plus, to give you some richer colors when watching videos and in those games, and also Gorilla Glass 5 on here on the screen. You've got color OS on here, which is getting better and better all the time, the classic sidebar option in color OS, which is a shortcut to your most important apps that you want to put in there all in all. This is absolutely solid and is really just ticking all the boxes at the price point in terms of all the display.
Specs, you also get UFS, 3.0 storage, lpddr4 ram and the base model in China at least comes with 8 gigabytes of RAM from a hardware specs point of view, leaving out the camera for a second there's, just not much more. You can get for this price point. The selfie camera is 16 megapixels, and it is housed in that very small cutout display I personally, really don't mind. Cutout displays actually think they look quite good, and also it does keep the phone much thinner and lighter than other phones, especially compared to the ribbon EK 30 pro. This phone does have NFC as well, and it also has something called aperture, which is something that OPPO has with Xiaomi and VIVO.
It's a little like airdrop on the iPhone, and it just enables you to share things across devices. If you have any of those brands, devices way quicker than using Bluetooth under screen fingerprint sensor on here. It is an optical sensor and absolutely no issues. Why is the phone significantly lighter than others? I've been testing recently? The build is definitely plastic, but I. Don't think that detract from the device.
It's a very light device and I quite like that. Also, the battery is smaller than usual quite a lot as well. It's 4,000 William hours. That is definitely on the smaller side when compared to other phones, but you do get the fast charging to compensate. That is the route that OPPO decided to take in this phone small battery, massively quit charging.
So how about that camera? What do we get? So? The 48 megapixel main image sensor takes 12 megapixel images as standard you can switch into 48 megapixel mode. If you want, you also get that ultra-wide camera and that's it. You get a couple of depth sensors, but for me, they don't really do thing to enhance the camera. App at all functional is what I would call the camera. It's not going to blow you away compared to this way more expensive phones, but for the device in general.
It does the job very well you're, obviously not going to get the best results in zoom, because there aren't any zoom cameras but up to two times not going to make too much difference anyway. You can also use high megapixel mode and crop into it a little, which is your know, basically the same thing. The main image sensor is a Sony I, MX 586. So its last year's sensor. The camera is definitely an area where they've tried to keep the cost down.
To give us a bit of a lower price. Overall colors, detail and dynamic range I think are pretty decent overall and actually coming up is a selfie, not this one, but actually the next one I think it did a perfect job of getting the light and shadows and the colors right so yeah. You can definitely get some good shots out of phones like this, even if it's not specifically a camera phone 4k video recording off the main image sensor. This is it here. You can go up to 10 times zoom when you are recording video, but it will be cropping in on the sensor.
So you're going to lose a lot of detail. You can also shoot with super steady shot. This is normal and then switching now to super steady shot. It just UPS the frames per second to 60. To give you a smoother image, you can also record video off the ultra-wide, which is this one, but it goes down to 1080p.
There isn't enough resolution in that image sensor to give us a full 4k from the ultra-wide camera game mode, as is found in all color. Os phones put all your games in one place, so you can access them easily. For this price point. Definitely a great gaming phone, it's powerful got great battery charging specs and the cutout is almost unnoticeable really. So it's a good gaming phone 90 Hertz display on here definitely a good thing and does create a smoother game overall for sure.
If you definitely are into gaming, then a 98 display is going to give you a slightly better experience in gaming than say a 60 Hertz display it's just going to be smoother overall, a really solid phone overall I think it doesn't spend the money in the unnecessary areas. It just gives you those core specs good charging, good processor, good screen overall subscribe for the latest tech news and videos. That's it for now, but I'll see you in the next one.
