OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro review | Totally Rated

After months and months of rumors, OnePlus has finally released the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 pro and here at totally rated. We have the definitive verdict. OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 pro comes in a variety of colors, with some gorgeous reflective, glossy black and matte finishes. Here's Tom's guide with more the 9 pro is a 6.7 inch handset, which is actually 0.1 inches smaller than the OnePlus 8 pro that launched last year. It's also a slightly less curve than last year, as you can see on the side of the display here. This should give a nice balance between the comfort of a curved handset, but also the more reliable interaction you get with a flatter screen.

The OnePlus 9 comes in three colors, the astral black arctic sky, blue and winter, miss purple. I got my hands on the winter mist version and the purple reflective glass on the back of the phone looks super sleek with a camera notch tucked neatly into the top corner on the front, the edge display is only interrupted by a tiny hole, punch camera somewhat surprisingly, the OnePlus 9 doesn't have a micro SD slot to expand your storage, which is stranger still considering the excellent camera specs you can find here. The cameras of the OnePlus 9 are kind of halfway between the OnePlus 8 pro and the OnePlus 9 pro. So you get the main sensor from last year's phone and the new upgraded ultrawide sensor from the 9 pro, and that's all made better, of course, by the new partnership with Hasselblad. For that all-important image processing, both phones will have a 16 megapixel front facing camera.

The OnePlus 9 will offer a triple rear camera, which includes a 48, megapixel, f 1.8 and a 50 megapixel f, 2.2 ultra-wide and a 2 megapixel monochrome sensor. The OnePlus 9 pro will have a quad rear camera, which includes a 48, megapixel, f 1.8, a 50 megapixel, f, 2.2 ultra-wide, an 8, megapixel, f, 2.4 telephoto and a 2 megapixel monochrome. So having tried out all the different modes and cameras on the OnePlus 9 pro, I have to say, I am actually quite impressed. The main lens, as you would expect, from a 15 megapixel sensor, delivers very impressive detail and compared to my iPhone 12 Pro delivers pretty similar color. It's the same story with the ultrawide, which is just as detailed and lets you fit in even more content.

Both will benefit with the Hasselblad collaboration with new Hasselblad, pro mode plus tilt shift mode and Hasselblad color correction. The real story of the OnePlus 9 series cameras, though, is the new color calibration with Hasselblad a game changing solution to one of the most persistent complaints regarding OnePlus 9 cameras in the past, video wise, the OnePlus, 9 and OnePlus 9 pro will be able to shoot 8k video at 30 frames per second and super slow motion at 1080p at 240 frames per second. The OnePlus 9 pro, however, can shoot 4k slow motion at 120 frames per second, whereas the OnePlus 9 can only shoot 4k at 60 frames per second. When it comes to the display, both the OnePlus, 9 and OnePlus 9 pro will rock a silky smooth, 120hz display screen. The OnePlus 9 screens is actually smaller and slightly lower resolution compared to the 9 pro, but you do still enjoy that full 120hz refresh rate, so it feels just as performant as its big brother plus it's a flat display, which I know some people do prefer to all the curved displays that seem to be in smartphones these days and when you're gaming you'll be able to take advantage of OnePlus new hypertouch system on supported games.

This allows for touch sampling rate, which should mean that these games feel more responsive than ever and combined with a highly detailed quad HD displayed resolution. This is a very worthy rival for Samsung's best, the galaxy s21 ultra in terms of performance. This certainly seems like it's got the edge over most other phones on the market. It's not as fast as the iPhone 12, but it does. The job and then some as Sean Riley from laptop, explains well apple's, iPhone, 12 lineups remains secure as the undisputed top four fastest phones on the planet.

Thanks to the a14 bionic, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9, pro equipped with the snapdragon 888 chips managed to overtake all the iPhone 11 models and now is sit atop. The android performance charts among traditional flagships, with only the gaming focused ASUS ROG phone 5, managing to outscore it in our testing. Everything feels instantaneous and naturally, because of the chipset is 5gk42, so whether you're messaging web browsing or opening up every single app at once. This is a super speedy phone with all that performance, you need power and battery life is a key concern on modern phones. Luckily, tech radar's David sum has been putting the OnePlus 9 through its paces.

As far as battery life, both phones inherit the OnePlus 8ts dual cell. Now this 4500 William batteries in each of them total, is split up between two units and what that does be it allows them to charge faster battery life, isn't particularly interesting on the OnePlus 9 pro it'll. Get you through a full day comfortably. What's more interesting, though, is how you'll actually charge it. So, just like the OnePlus 8t last year, you've got 65 watt wire charging and also the bonus this year of 50 watt wireless charging and that's the fastest wireless charging we've seen in any mainstream android phone overall, the OnePlus, 9 and OnePlus 9 pro looks promising with positive marks all round the new camera and great displays make this a perfect phone for any android user looking for an upgrade, and that's it for totally rated I'm tom and make sure to join us next time for a snapshot of what's hot and what's not in taken gaming.
