It's hard not to sound biased. When I talk about the OnePlus 8t, it was hands down one of the most balanced phones. You could buy in 2020 and is still a great option to consider in 2021, or is it well, I'm Rohan from techytechtech and let's reassess the OnePlus 8t in 201. Here we go now build quality and design was never a strong point on the OnePlus 8t, mostly because of two reasons. Firstly, it has a very mainstream Samsung lag design with the camera module to the top left. Secondly, its predecessor, the OnePlus 8, looked much better according to most people, including myself, but regardless of all that, the OnePlus 8t takes all the boxes of the quintessential premium smartphone it has a gorilla glass front and back a matte, aluminum frame in the middle and a s2h display with a cutout on the front.
The back glass has a glossy finish, which attracts smudges and fingerprints. A matte one like the one on the OnePlus, 8 and 8 pro would have been much better. The display on the front is flat, which is a very significant advantage for someone. Like me, a very happy goodbye to all the accidental touches and unwanted glare caused by curved glass displays see. All in all, I am not the biggest fanboy or the OnePlus 8t's entire design language, but at the same time I don't really mind it in my day today.
Use sport, OnePlus first party quantum bumper case, and that does the job for me pretty well flip over to the display, and you get one of the many features that makes the OnePlus 8t such a compelling package. We have a flat AMOLED display with a 120 hertz, refresh rate and full HD plus resolution. It is stunning the saturation vibrancy and colors look natural and very pleasing to the eye. OnePlus also allows you to tinker with the display's color profiles. Should you really wish to the 120hz resolution also ensures that every tiny bit of animation looks extra smooth? Another thing that I would like to clarify, because I get a lot of questions- is that while the OnePlus 8 pro and the OnePlus note did suffer from a number of display issues, I can confirm that the OnePlus 8ts display has been entirely trouble free in my full usage period.
Moving on, let's talk about software. Another key highlight of the OnePlus experience. OnePlus is oxygen. Os is the fastest and smoothest android skin I've ever used. It has almost no bloatware, no shady apps and no overload of unnecessary undercooked features.
OnePlus has tried a new design language with the latest oxygen OS 11, and while I do like it, I much prefer the stock android look and feel of the older oxygen OS 10. But overall the best thing about oxygen. Os is definitely how smooth it is and how it manages to retain that smoothness after multiple years of usage. There is, however, one major problem software updates see. OnePlus has this bad track record of abandoning their older devices whenever a new iteration comes along? The OnePlus 8t is the latest version right now, so things are looking pretty good, but just take a look at last year's OnePlus 7 lineups, still waiting for the android 11 updates that the OnePlus 8 series got back in October.
I truly and genuinely hope: that's not the fate of the OnePlus 8t when the OnePlus 9 eventually comes along. Moving on. Let's talk performance, I told you that OxygenOS ran smooth right part of the reason. Why is that OnePlus always packs the most cutting-edge hardware available at the time of launch? In accordance with this pattern, the OnePlus 8t packs the flagship snapdragon 865 CPU, with the fast UFS 3.1 storage and either 8 or 12 gigs of ram to dumb it down a bit. This phone is fast anything you throw at it, be it your day-to-day social media use or some intense video conferencing or even some hardcore gaming.
The OnePlus 8t is as equipped as any android phone in the market. Of course, there will be newer phones coming along in 2001 with more powerful next generation hardware, but with all that being said, I still cannot imagine any user for whom the OnePlus 8t will be under powered. This thing is a beast, and if power is what you want, power is what you will get with the OnePlus 8t. Let's talk a bit about the cameras now the cameras on the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8t are essentially the same. So I am just going to repeat what I said in that review.
Remember I will have a link to our original full review in the description below if you want a more detailed, in-depth analysis for now. I want to talk briefly about my real life experience. As someone who is not obsessed with having the best of the best quality, the OnePlus 8t has actually provided a good enough smartphone camera experience. The output has been adequate for my regular usage and I actually took some really good-looking pictures after a few tweaks here and there. However, if you click a lot of photos on your phone, there are better cameras on smartphones, even in the same price bracket.
If you click on a lot of photos but really love the OnePlus experience, I would highly recommend going for the OnePlus 8 pro. Instead, it has a noticeably better camera. Let's talk about the battery life. Now I've been getting great battery life with the OnePlus 8t for my non-hardcore, zero gaming kind of usage. The OnePlus 8t gives me roughly six hours of screen on time, which translates to a day or a day and a half's worth of endurance.
It's nothing to write home about, but definitely something that you can rely upon. Also, while you don't get fancy stuff, like reverse wireless charging or even regular wireless charging, you do get 65 watt superfast wired dash charging which charges the phone insanely fast. Now I do have a confession: to make honestly it was fun to see dash charge my phone so fast when I initially got it, but I just stopped using it after some time to maintain battery health. I'm not going out much so the fast charging didn't really matter anyway. Before we conclude a few random highlights.
The stereo speakers are great. The earpiece clarity and overall phone call experience is excellent. The fingerprint sensor is accurate and mostly error. Free. The mute slider is amazing and something that I always miss when I switch to a non OnePlus android phone now for the conclusion see, there is no doubt that the OnePlus 8t is an amazing phone and there's no doubt that I, both as a reviewer and a user, really like this phone.
However, today I would recommend you not to buy one for yourself yet see the OnePlus 9 series is about to come out, and I would really recommend waiting to check it out before buying the OnePlus 8t or any other phone today. If you absolutely need to buy a phone today itself and just cannot wait, the OnePlus 8t is a phone that I have no problem, recommending it's an amazing phone through and through.
