Hey, what's up guys Nokia's new, mid-Ranger, the seven-plus promises premium features at a competitive price. Of course, a lower price spends compromises for this phone still looks promising. I'm Wilford GSM, marina- and this is our Nokia 7 plus review, but it's solid, aluminum, unibody and trendy looks the Nokia seven-plus blurs the line between a mid-range and flagship phone. One of the first things you notice is a copper accent. Running along the aluminum frame is quite eye-catching. The phone doesn't feel like metal.
It's a bit more plastic leg due to a special matte coating, so it's gripper but hard to clean. The matte coating also conceals antenna lines for a more elegant. Look moving on to the back you'll see more of those copper highlights which frame the Mass branded dual camera and the rear mounted fingerprint scanner. The scanner is always ready to wake up your phone, it's accurate, but not the fastest out there, picking up the phone activates an ambient display that will show the time in notifications. But since some of you asked the seven-plus doesn't have a notification LED.
Lately, Nokia phones have been incredibly well-built and the seven-plus is no different, but unfortunately it isn't water-resistant. There are 64 gigs of on-board storage, and it is expandable through micros for audio. The seven-plus has a single speaker next to the USB port. It sounds alright, but it isn't the loudest we do wish. There was a stereo speaker set up like on last year's Nokia.6, we're glad to see the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack is still here, I'm like on the Nokia Sirocco, but if you're looking for an FM radio you're out of luck, polity through headphones is decent, but when plugging into an external speaker we measured some extra distortion and noise. The Nokia 7 plus is screen is a six inch, IPS LCD with a full HD resolution.
It's also Nokia's first smartphone with a tall 18 by 9 aspect ratio. It's not a Leola display like the Nokia 8 Sirocco, but it looks good images. Look sharp and blacks are surprisingly pretty dark. It's not the brightest display maxing at just 413. It's and there's no boost in auto mode.
However, sunlight legibility is still quite good because, as part of the Android 1 program, the Nokia 7 plus are on stock, Android, 8.1 or EO as Google intended it to be. This means there's no bloatware, so everything runs clean and snappy. However, most of the functions are provided through Google's apps. So if you're after extra features beyond what stock Android provides, this might not be the phone for you, but a regardless. The Nokia, 7 plus, will be among the first phones to get the latest security updates.
This phone runs on a snapdragon 616 chipsets, with 4 gigs of ram in benchmarks. It tops almost all the mid-range competition only being outperformed by the Karin 970 inside the honor of view.10, the Nokia 7 plus packs a sizable 3,800 William hour battery and battery life is quite good, is scored an endurance rating of 87 hours in our proprietary tests. Plus it comes with a bundled quick charger that brought us from 0 to 43% and half an hour. The 7 plus has a Mass branded dual camera setup, which is almost the same as what you find on the flagship in OK 8 Stroke. There are two 12 megapixel cameras.
The second one is a telephoto with 2 times zoom. Only the main cam is OAS, though the camera app is the only piece of custom software that you find on the Nokia 7 plus, it's not bad, but we wish you could swipe to switch between the front and rear cameras. Instead, there's a button near the top. There was a pro mode which you can access easily by sliding the shutter button. Unless you adjust the white balance, focus manually and choose ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation in good light image.
Quality from the main camera is quite good. There's good resolve, detail and color saturation exposure is consistent and noise isn't an issue. The telephoto cams 2 times optical zoom is quite handy to have. Its images are a little softer and contrast is lower than the main camera, but we appreciate his usefulness. The telephoto doesn't work in low lights once the light drops below a certain level.
The camera switches to digital zoom in low light quality from the main camp doesn't compare to top flagships, but it's not too bad images come out a bit underexposed, but still usable. The dual camera setup allows you to create a blurred background behind the subject and live both modes. The blur is pretty convincing and accurate around the subject, though, we did notice some focus issues so be sure to take more than one shot. The selfie camera is 16, megapixels selfies, look good with true skin tones and pleasing colors. You can also take selfies with a blurred background, which come out pretty good as well.
Focus is fixed low, so not every shot will be on points. Videos can be recorded in 1080p at 30fps, as well as in 4k 1080p. Videos have electronic stabilization, which works well and quality is above average. Similarly, 4k videos look good, they're, sharp, detailed and noise free with nice color rendering. There is no stabilization, though, and it shows you can also record both 1080p and 4k.
Video through the telephoto camera quality again looks great, though the color reproduction is a lot warmer here. One big bonus is 360 degree sound capture thanks to the 7 plus is 3 onboard microphones. As a result, audio sounds great, so in ok, 7 plus it's a mid-range err. That brings a lot of the features that you look for in a flagship phone is a solid, build cleaning up today's software, a fast chipset dependable battery with quick charging and a good camera. While none of these features is quite flagship level and the lack of waterproofing is a bummer, it shouldn't really be expected to compete against those high profile devices for one 400 euros.
Nokia 7 plus, is a well-rounded phone. That's easy to recommend thanks for watching, don't forget to Like and subscribe. If you enjoyed this video, and can always stop by GSM arena, comm for a full test. Findings see ya.
