Hello internet, how are you people? It's your boy, Kevin granite just got out of Best Buy, I don't know if you guys could even tell that's best buy, but just got out of Best Buy went in to do a few things, and the main thing I wanted to do was test google's new phone that came out. The pixel 5 is not a top of the line phone, it's google's best phone they make, but it's not a top of the line phone top of the line, meaning the best chip inside the fastest performance, the most memory, or whatever makes a phone top of the line. It's not that it's a small, rounded phone, there's! No notch! It's got a single camera cut out at the top. It's got a 90 hertz screen, which means 90 frames per second there's nothing groundbreaking about the phone. Why do I want uh, not as high-end phone, or why would I want to get rid of the iPhone 12 Pro, or why am I even thinking of another phone? If I got the iPhone 12 Pro right now, apple's top of the line phone that isn't a huge iPad Pro max phone. Well, here's the thing since I got this phone, I've been having some I want to say some of the worst battery life I've ever experienced on a cell phone.
I got this phone for six days almost a week and the battery has just been like one day. I'll have great battery life because I'm not doing anything with the phone like the phone is just sitting there like I'll, be using my laptop the whole day as soon as I pick up the phone to use it while you're using it, and you check the battery. The battery is going down. One percent two percent, three percent by the time you put it back down, so imagine how many times we pick up the phone a day and put it down just to check like a notification on Instagram uh, a text message, imagine doing all that, and then you're dropping a percent or two every time you do that! That's what it feels like to see. Is that actually happening? I didn't really do a test to prove that, but my 11 pro didn't do that I'll.
Tell you that much now for those of you who don't know apple made these phones bigger and made the batteries smaller, I'm guessing to enable 5g. They have to put a 5g chip in these phones.5D modem, because Apple did that the phones became not as good with battery life. Now. Could I just charge the phone whenever I get a chance or when I'm home just keep it on the charger all day yeah? I could do that, but I hate bringing chargers with me. The cigarette lighter in my car, where you would usually put a phone charger in that's broke on my truck and don't work.
I have to change the fuse, but even if I do the more you charge your phone, I don't know if you guys are aware of this, the more you charge a phone, the worker, the battery gets over time. So if the battery is bad now, what is it going to be like in six months from now? If the battery is bad now, what's it going to be like in a year? That's why I'm thinking about this Google phone- and I got to be honest with you. I love the iPhone 12 pros design. I really do, but the phone is way too big. Today they leaked the minis battery the iPhone 12 mini.
So let's say this phone is too big. Let's say the 12 mini was the same exact phone. It had the extra camera and everything same chip same whatever same ram. The issue would have been the battery is a 2 200 William battery, meaning that the phone is just that phone's going to last you about. If you get up at 9, 00 am by 3 pm.
That phone will be dead. The way I use the phones anyways, I'm always on Instagram, I'm always checking emails, I'm always replying to text messages doing stuff watching YouTube. I don't play games on the phone because, like then, you really go through the battery. Most of my phone usage is Instagram checking out like tech websites. But how long could you stay on a tech website by the time you go to the first page, you've seen everything, that's new, and then you're done, so I do very minimal stuff.
With my phone, the vlogging takes a lot of battery, but I'm talking about like yesterday, for example, I never vlogged. Yesterday I took a bunch of pictures. I took some uh pictures of me and Lena because it was her birthday but taking like 30 pictures shouldn't kill the battery now from 3 p. m, to 11 p. m.
I lost 60 of my battery, maybe 70 of my battery yesterday by taking I'll. Even let you guys know how many pictures I took no videos, no vlog because Lena didn't want me to because it was her birthday. There was like legitimately no reason for my battery to go down that much oh and I have 5g turned off. I can't imagine if I have 5g turned on they say on the internet, that having 5g turned on is even worse, so I have 5g turned off, and I'm having these issues. So I don't know what to do.
I think I'm going to go home. Throw my phone on Craigslist and offer up just to get an idea just to get a feel for how much I could sell the phone for like if somebody meets me at the bank again and says I'll, give you 1200 for it, I mean I'll. Take the 1200 pay off whatever I got to pay off on this phone, the Google phone is only 6.99 and if I wait till like Black Friday gets closer, I promise you, I save at least another 100, so I'm getting the phone for 5.99 compared to the 1000 that this phone was so 5.99 for a phone with great battery great cameras. It won't be good for vlogging, but vlogging on a phone is not really easy. I've been doing it for a long time having to use the front-facing camera.
It's inconsistent when I'm filming other people, it's crystal clear when I film myself it's a little blurry. Sometimes if the lighting is not perfect, it's pretty bad. So I'm thinking, if I sell this phone, get the Google Pixel 5 and then get a dedicated camera. The Sony zv1 is on sale right now. Maybe I could get something on sale, get two items for the price that I could sell this phone.
For I mean if I just sold the iPhone 11 Pro for 800. Who knows how much I could sell this phone for, but I'm going to go home, put on Craigslist and see what's the deal because I love this phone. I really do, but I'm scared to check how much battery I used recording this 10-minute video. It's coming up on 10 minutes, 9 50 right now, even if it doesn't take that much battery from this recording, which would be great all the other times, I'm using this phone, the way that the battery is dying out so quickly. I don't know for my use case.
It shouldn't be doing this. The iPhone 11 Pro didn't do this. So it's very concerning like here's, a perfect example, you guys ready, and I'll end the video with this. My iPhone 11 Pro had better battery life after using it for one year than this phone has after using it for six days now, if you've got car chargers, if you have house chargers, if you don't mind plugging in your phone to charge it every five minutes, every two hours, every three hours, that's fine, especially how fast these phones charge. I guess they counteract each other.
I don't know, is it worth having a phone that charges fast, but it doesn't? Last long I mean there are phones out there that charge fast, and they last longer, so they get both of the benefits. I guess apple don't want to give that to us just yet. I don't know I'm going to go home. Put my phone on Craigslist see what happens. Well, I keep it.
Will I sell it? I have another eight days with this phone to see. If I want to keep it or not, eight more days with the iPhone 12 Pro, I guess we'll see how it works out. You.
