Mini Painting With Juce & Paula Painting Cthulhu, Discussing Gaming, and Maps Episode 13 By Master the Game

Weird that takes a second to switch to that no interesting I think it says I'm setting I. Have you want this higher now that you're doing something bigger? Let me fix the focus changes every time. Every time it automatically goes to autofocus.

So I've saved this as default on this I'm, even on the old computer. It doesn't matter it does what it wants to do. It has a mind of its own. So is that where you're going to paint it is that where your comfortable save, so it should automatically work yeah, so one thing I noticed: I'm gonna, do it while we're on stream people going to be like where you go. This thing, don't worry, we're not done we're working on it, trying to fix something.

There had to fix a couple of things really quick there we go. No I, don't know it's weird I thought I would fix, it didn't fix it, but it's okay! I'm! The only one that knows of it, so it doesn't matter. So how is everybody tonight? It's a little out of focus on Paula's time, her camera. He said that yeah I think he's talking about this camera in your face, but that's actually just a really crappy camera. So that's just how it kind of works so how's it going Raymond hope, you're doing well.

We uh we've been doing this painting thing now, for actually it says, 13 there's actually the 14th episode, but you know one of them: I never updated the stuff, and so now I need to go back, and they call it episode point five or something, so he says all better. Maybe he was talking about that part of it. So I am working on Cthulhu, but really I'm, just working on his wings as if right now, which basically look like this at this time and all I did- was go through so far and just black out some colors, and that was basically if I went over it like one time with some color, so very, very early stages of this process, so working on it, and I am mapping at the same time, I am mapping the part of my world that we are playing next weekend in a game for it's called the Black Rock adventures. Yes, episode, 2 technically, the first episode is also episode: zero, so yeah we've been. This is our second time ever gaming.

All of us, together, I've, happened to play with everybody at least once actually more than once, I played a campaign with every person involved for Paula. She has played in at least one game with everybody involved before her last time, so it was interesting going into it because I didn't know what to expect, but it went really well, so I'm really excited to play again and I. Think part of that is a perfect motivator. For my map I'm doing right now. It's made me want to really get this done before that game and when I say done, I mean inking and everything.

So hopefully I can start. My inking tonight I'm just doing a little more of penciling I realized last night. That less was more so here's the map going from the top all the way to the bottom, and this is a very small portion of my world- very small I, don't like the mountains, but I might fix that later in Photoshop, rather than on this copy. To give you an idea- this is maybe one sixth of my world and that pink circle in the middle is the part I'm mapping right now so very large world, most of its ocean yeah. So I'm excited to do this, I'm really getting into mapping right now.

Yeah, and that's I've always liked doing stuff like this. When I was in high school I used to like to draw maps of cities and stuff like using, you know, top-down view, perspective Sim, City style, looking yeah I used to love that I remember doing that in art in middle school, and it like I was hooked. There were a couple of us used to do it a lot in middle school, but I used to love, SimCity, Paul Ross, says I hate drawing mountains. Paul. You need to show me your mountains, man.

Why? Don't you take a picture and put it up in the discord sometime, so I can check it out? I want to see how bad it is. No, really! No, but you're. Officially on the struggle bus, ooh, Mountains yeah, they were awesome. I did a good job. A couple of years ago, I just had forgotten when I went to do this, I couldn't think of it real, quick, and then I was like, and I did, rather than look it up and just because I've started connecting yeah, you already started working yeah.

The mountains I've done on this one especially down here in the bottom, are god-awful they're, just squishy yeah. They just got off, and they're, not shaded and I. Don't know I'm, just not digging it, so it doesn't matter, though um so yeah.

Let's see, do I want I'm trying to figure out what I want to do here. What is this area like, because I've never actually done anything with this area? I've, never thought of anything for this area. This is like the big city yeah. This is water and that's like the shorelines kind of like the waves up by the yeah. What's wrong with that you can space I couldn't have space, but I'm there, like a port city up there or something not right here.

There's the capital here: that's a poor city like that's the big one, the one that I told you guys about where you made fun of it, because it was like Burlington Coat, Factory I can call it. Art van I can make a new city called art van going out of business. I find a copy of them, looks good. Still, thanks, I appreciate it I, don't think the bottom ones do, but that's, okay, now, and then I think I have everything named though I think everything's got a name now down. Here.

Is the Serpent's, and so I have to write that down there we go okay and then see. I was trying to think of a place. That would make sense for that, and I was kind of looking in this area, because I don't have anything. Have something good, I thought about putting a chasm there like a large chasm first, a good way to do it.

The thing is: is I'm going to touch it up in Photoshop, like I'm going to get rid of the marks.

You know what I mean it's gonna look better. What do you mean you don't understand, so I'm gonna eventually go over it with ink once I've done all the stuff I want ink and then take a massive eraser to this thing? Get rid all pencil marks. All of them then I scan it into Photoshop. I can then mess with the contrast and stuff to get rid of like the erased marks. So it's just the black like the ink I can then save it and then, if the black marks, for example, are too dark, then I can bring that file in and then lighten up the black marks.

And then it looks good. Do you know what I'm saying or do what I need to their like to brighten it or what and then, if I want to erase features it's really easy in Photoshop, if I like how I did say, I don't know a forest over here, I can drag it here and then just stretch it out, and you know, do a bunch of stuff? You know what I mean like it's easy to manipulate once I've got it in there. Okay, so that's alright. I mean, like you say, do you know no I know that date was tough yeah. He can do a lot of cool stuff, I'm sure it's gonna, look wonderful, yeah, no I'm I mean it's probably gonna, be better than my hot, pink Cthulhu.

It's not there's nothing pink on him all right! So there's my chasm. Does that look too much? That's too much, probably it's kind of like a natural bridge. All right so I tried to draw a chasm. You can see it right there in the middle of that peninsula, and then I need to come up with something interesting to call it. I, don't know, I'll come up with something good through Lou's reach use the name Cthulhu in it um.

What I'm just saying are you sure I see you adjust it? A lot.

That's all, and I wanted something that I don't know that was inspired by the fact that we were going to have a Cthulhu, I, don't know. I know, Cthulhu comes from the water and a lot of stuff. There are videos of him climbing out of the water, but yeah I, don't know well, yeah! That's why I made a massive chasm thinking like? Oh, maybe he like is down there. Oh, he's down unit like underground yeah, where it should be easy to have like a know. One of these caves go there, but at the same time, like I, don't know you guys, going to go down a cave looking for I mean because the answer is yes.

Yes, we're going down into the cave -. Thank you. When you go into a lot of caves at some point, it should be a lot of cave diving. You know, hmm, we need a reason to go down there. Yeah I know, but I still need to have a good place in my mind, for where I want it to be like to me right.

There's these huge caves down here which there are tons of stuff under there. That's a given there's a small chain of cave or caves and mountains here to me: I, don't think that would be under there. Do you know what I'm saying like that doesn't seem epic enough? In my mind you know what I'm saying oh cool, oh yeah. This could be, but at the same time I don't really want you guys going south at least right now, I don't have any plans about yeah, but where else they're not going to fake, sorry we're not going to fight Cthulhu. Why and at like second level, you might, you got time, you might try we're not gonna.

Little tiny bug monster thing, but then, when they came across the druid Rich, which I gave him and let him raw for information, and he rolled well, so I said yeah. You know this is a druid Rich.

He was like okay, and he still wanted to fight it. It's like what you ran from these bugs earlier, but not the druid, Rich I'm, just saying seems a little crazy. I would not be surprised if he hurls a fireball at Cthulhu just to see what would happen just sing me yeah see that's what I'm saying. First, there are no stats for Cthulhu and Five. There's no Cthulhu inside me, but I'm sure that's not a problem.

I have no idea, I, don't know squat about Cthulhu other than him, causing you to go mad. That's that's! All I played Cthulhu once I didn't really but yeah just throw a can of here, and you can defeat.

If you'd, like a, know a plate at once, didn't like it 2015 2014, it was d20 collar, but in general the premise of going mad and stuff does not I, don't know, maybe I just don't get immersed enough to care, but I just will have to play some time and there is no way to beat Cthulhu. If Is played Lloyd Collins played the ARL DM Andrew Knapp played in that it's a horror, game I, just felt like I was ball playing real life, I guess I, don't know it just didn't seem it just. I, don't know it's just not interesting to me, I'm, not into mysteries in general, usually I'm, not into and that's kind of what it is you're trying to figure out. What's creating these another, it depends on how the games ran, but I think we were there investigating a theater for strange happenings that were going on if I remember, right, and I just didn't feel invested, that's all and my character didn't really make sense for that, and we were using pre gens. So I think my guy was like a jock, a high school graduate former jock kind of guy I. Think I, don't remember, he may have been ex-military I, don't remember, but either way like it was pointless. Because you're not really fighting anything you're like it's experience, yes, but you also need to like, like I, feel like for it to work.

You need to be immersed right, like it's just I, don't know no I'm willing to try it again. If someone wants to run it which it sounds like well, stats would be, but I don't have high hopes for it. It's not the mechanics like that. Didn't matter to me at all, I think it's just the premise as a know as a whole I'd rather fight it I'd, rather try to kill Cthulhu, unavoidable, I, think that would be more fun to me, I mean if it's got stats Cameron it's up Cameron. It is heavy RP and less about mechanics.

But yes, you're right, it's less about being super heroic and more about regular Joe's, overcoming the odds yeah and like I, don't know it just. It felt like playing real-life more than anything like you're, pretending, you're. Somebody else. Obviously look like I. Don't know that I wouldn't do any of that stuff like if one I don't believe in ghosts right, so it already loses me their first problem.

Second, if I did believe in ghosts or even if I had one weird creepy encounter, I would just be like that, sometimes just because you asked me that, like actually a decent amount, when you tell them thank of, confuse, probably like the second most popular like at least IP. Five days a week, probably I've been 50 hours right, because, it's its about 10-hour days. Two of the days are guaranteed ten-hour days. It's like nine till eight and then there's a couple of days till seven and then one day is till six and one day's till four, but one of those days, I'm gonna, have offed I have a feeling. It's probably gonna, be the day that goes till 7 p. m.

We did try the group thing too, but I feel like since characters have been dropping that whole storylines out the window. There's a good story, a pre pre-campaign storyline you can bring into it and with three characters dying, there's still there's only two originals. That's kind of how it's been that dungeon was a slog. There was a lot I mean it wasn't like. There was a lot, but I had read that, and then I had read a little ahead and it was so long ago now that I feel like I need to read it again. But now it's all good.
