Meizu MX5 Unboxing and First Impressions By FoneArena

Maze one of the more popular Chinese manufacturers just launched their latest flagship device at an event in Beijing China. So right now we have an official unit of that. The maze MX 5, which is super premium in all aspects except price, which is fascinating. So it takes on not only android flagships but the iPhone as well, and we are going to find out how it does that in this unboxing and the first impressions look at the Amazon mx-5. Let's go ahead so straight away. Let's open up the box here, the box is pretty simple but, like all the other major devices, the mx-5 sits in a cutout booklet.

This is the booklet here, so it sits in a cutout booklet like that and the booklet has some initial introduction about the phone. So it says the pursuit of techno logic perfection. It's. There is a very big process that the phone goes through. Every phone goes through in the manufacturing process, and they have introduced a forty-three step process.

That's what it says here, and it's apparently very precise. So there is also am charged fast charging technology. There is M touch 2.0! That's a fingerprint sensor, and then you have the new fly mo s that the device is running on. So this is like a book, so you can see the mazes' logo here. So that's the book and that's the phone.

You might have seen the photo gallery in a blog if you haven't, go check it out. But yes, this is the maze MX 5 switched off full metal body. That's the main idea here behind the phone, but it is a flagship device that takes on every of the flagship in the world right now. But the pricing is key here. It's 1799 you on which roughly translates to about 18,000 to nineteen thousand rupees in Indian rupee.

So that's a great price for a device that packs so much of flagship specifications inside it. So that's the idea behind maze MX 5, it's a flagship, but it will be valued for money, and it's got everything that you expect from a flagship device. So that's the device I'm going to keep that aside and quickly go through the box contents here. So this is the fly me shaped sim ejector tool. The device has a dual NATO SIM slot, and it has both the sims enabled with 4G LTE.

So that's one of the specialties of the dual NATO SIM slots. You've got the sim ejector tool here and of course you have got a bunch of booklets inside that will explain to you some key terms and conditions. That's the booklet here, and then we've got the USB cable here, that's the USB cable, pretty normal. It's a white, USB, cable, and then you've got the headphones which are in a box pretty much like the Apple EarPods, but they are obviously designed differently. That's the headphones there.

So it says the model number Izzy of 21 HD, that's the model number, and then you have got the usual Indian plug of the travel charger. So that's about it for a box contains here now, let's get back to the phone, which is the star of the show. Perhaps so, let's turn the phone on. So that's the maze logo. Turning on and then because fly me is the operating system that's running on this phone, it's a custom UI, and it's running at 60fps.

So that's why we are recording this video at 60fps, 1080p 60, that's what you're seeing the video at you can see how smooth the OSS and you can see how fast the UI just zips through, so the phone is powered by the media, tech, Helios extent, processor, it's a 2.2, gigahertz processor, and it's superfast, and it's got a 20 point: seven megapixel camera! That's our camera right! There you just saw, and then it's running on android 5.0 point one. So that's the android version. Of course the custom OS is fly me 4.5. You've got beautifully designed icons on the UI and everything just works right now they haven't said anything up. You can see the quick toggles here and overall, the UI looks really, really smooth.

As you can see in 60fps this is 60 FPS that is going on and yeah. There is no app tray. It's just like the earlier fly me versions but of course again pretty smooth and quick. So let's talk about the other aspects of this device. It's got a large and beautiful AMOLED screen.

So this is a super amulet 5.5-inch full HD screen, and it looks absolutely stunning, so you can see up close how good the clarity is. Let me zoom in alright, so you can see that the clarity of these displays perfect and the viewing angles are great too. You can see when I'm moving it to the side. You can still see the icons and, yes, it looks really, really good and one of the best 5.5 inch displays we have seen, but it is of course based on the diamond arrangement of the Super AMOLED screen. So it's basically gentile, but you can't see the pixels much and of course it has created being because of it being amyloid and saturation is something you can control from the device itself, so they have given options for changing the white balance of the display and so on.

You can see them here inside the display. We have the color temperature, which can be cold all wrong depending on the kind of conditions you are in. So that's pretty cool, and this is the new home button which integrates a fingerprint sensor that works really, really fast. So I have already configured the fingerprint sensor, and you can just see how fast it is when opening the lock screen it's that fast. This is probably replicator only by the iPhone and possibly closer by the Galaxy S6, but it's one of the fastest implementations of touch ID or fingerprint recognition by any company.

It's called em touch 2 point 0 by may assume, and it works great. So you can configure the fingerprints here. One fingerprint has already been captured, I'm just going to use a simple passcode and had a fingerprint here. So the good thing about this home button is, it is also capacitive, and it uses a back button which is a normal touch. So you can see a clicking.

The just by tapping the home button will take me back so, for example, if I'm inside some UI, if I hit it just tap it, it goes one level back. But if I press the home button it takes me home. So it's pretty cool that they have done this functionality within this button and the UI has the options and everything inside everything on the screen. So you don't need virtual buttons or anything, but it definitely works really, really well. So that's the key here.

The camera is 20.7 megapixel unit, that's the rear facing camera. It's got laser autofocus and dual tone flash all in this really nicely designed unit and the 20.7 megapixel is a Sony sensor, 1 by 2 point 3 inches and there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera which does 1080p recording, while this does 4k, so the media tech Helios extent is apparently more or energy saving than the snapdragon 810. That's what the CEO of Mesa said in the event, so they are counting on media tech to deliver the performance, and it seems like the optimization has been done right and so far so good I would say, but these are only our initial impressions now, apart from everything, what strikes us is definitely the design. The full metal body, as I already mentioned, is great in terms of aesthetics and also very nice in terms of ergonomic fit in the hands. You can say well, it's very similar to other phones like, for example, the Galaxy S6 or the iPhone 6, but it is more of a combination of the two.

So it does look unique I mean you can say like from a distance. It looks like the Essex or the iPhone, but when you take a closer look, it's definitely unique, and it follows the same design language as any other maze MX flagship before that's the curve at the back, which is probably have seen only in mesa devices, but the chambered edges and the antenna lines. All of those things are very, very similar to what other devices that use metal and that have great design. So the maze of mx-5 has good design and seems to be great for the price it comes out. It's 1799, as I already said, it's going to be really cheap, and it's coming soon to India.

They haven't told us when, but it will be coming soon to India, and when that happens, we let you know the other details about the price and so on.
