Meizu 16s Unboxing and Hands-On By Techaeris

This is the maze 16s, let's unbox it and have a hands-on look straight ahead. Alright, welcome back guys, it's awesome, Terry airs calm, and we are going to unbox and have a first-hand look at the maze 16s. This is a smartphone from China. This guy is actually their flagship phone. So let's just get right into there's, not much to looking at the box, just the black box, with 16s on them on the up outside and maze at the top here, we're just going to crack it open and see. What's inside alright, there's box there, we got the wrapping off we're going to slide this guy open check out what's inside now.

Mizzou is a not super well known here in the States, but they are well known in China. There's your phone, and they are well known overseas I've actually used maze phones before, and they make some excellent hardware. So you're presented first with the phone here, you're going to take that out and put it to the side and take a look with them. What else is in the box here, of course, I coming from China they're, sending me the adapter for that area of the world, which is not gonna work here in the States, but no big deal. We got our own charges, we can deal with in use, and you get a sim tool, objected ejection tool.

Put that right back. Well, maybe you won't nothing else on the bottom of the box, so we'll put that to the side and there's the phone, but there is also a smaller box here. We're going to open this up and see. What's in here, you have a charging cable. Yes, indeed, that is a USB to USB a cable, so it is USB-C charging capable.

What else do we got in the box here, and we'll find out slide that all out of their looks like manuals? User guides Quick-start, guide and warranty terms and conditions safety information all that jazz? No one reads, and it looks like that. Is it guys you get a cable, a charging, brick, not use charging brick again. This is a production pre-production unit that maze sent us so if you know. If you ordered from the, if you order it and have it shipped in here, you may get the US adapter I'm, not sure about that. But here is the phone itself, not a bad looking phone, and it looks like it has a notch, but AHA it does not have a notch.

I know that for a fact, because we've written about this phone already- and it has a let's peel this guy off too- and they sent us the black carbon fiber version and that is very, very nice-looking Wow. That is a super nice looking phone in the back. There LT mobile phone assembled in China, designed by Mizzou a little sticker over the camera and let's power this guy up, so you've got any juice, and we do and that my friends is the Mizzou blimey OS is what they run on Mizzou, it's running, Android, of course, but with their own OS on, so we're going to go run through setup, really quick here, and we will be right back. Alright, we are back guys, and we have the Mizzou 16s set up initial setup. Complete, don't have all my accounts, all set up and whatnot, but we'll get to that once we get to that right now.

We just wanted to go over the phone and just give you a quick look-see at it. First thing: I noticed when I unbox: this is the bezels are nice and slim on the sides, but they're, not so slim that you know the meat of your hand reacts to the screen, so I kind of like that I also love the slim bezels at the top and the bottom I also love that there is no notch or a punch hole, that's kind of cool, so this has an almost 92% screen to Bhatia body ratios. I. Think it's 91.5, 3% is what maze is claiming on this. It's a six-inch screen, and it's sporting.

They call Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and the biggest thing about this phone is the camera in the back. Is forty-eight megapixels, and it's supposed to be. Do some really great things. So you know we still have to test all that, but dang. This phone is sharp.

It is nice, and it has an in screen fingerprint sensor, and you saw how fast that actually works. We'll do it again. I'll do one more time boom. It works pretty well, I, gotta, say one more time, and we're in it also has faced ID detection, so you can unlock with your face and due to those type of things, let's check to see what we're running here as far as Android version 9, so we're on PI. This has pioneered you see here before you is the fly me OS.

That maze does, and you know it's very much iOS looking so, but you can do whatever you want. I mean you can add a launcher to this, and you can change it up make it look completely different. There's your front facing camera up here- and this is your earpiece here, and it has a speaker in the bottom USB-C port, with your SIM card tray right their mic. Next to it, there is no headphone jack. So if you're expecting to help phone jack, you're not gonna, get it here that doesn't bother me so much I know some people.

You really need to have a headphone jack, but unfortunately it's not going to come on the maze. It does come with fast charging, so that is a fast charging capable, of course, I can't use this brick. So I will have to use one of my other bricks to actually charge the phone. As far as battery goes, it is a 3600 William hour battery, that's not a bad-sized battery, it's pretty good size and I would say, and who knows? Maybe that's why there's no headphone jack they wanted to fit more battery into it. It has an AMOLED display and I believe that this AMOLED display was especially made for maze by Samsung for this phone, so we're talking 22 32 by 1080 resolution, which is f HD plus, so it's full HD, plus a little more.

It's got 18 6 by 9 aspect ratio and a brightness of 413. Its contrast ratio is ten thousand to one, and it has a four 403 PPI, and this guy is running a Snapdragon 855, which you know like I, said before. Maze phones have traditionally run MediaTek processor, so this is something new for them and me. Think it's a great move for them do to actually do this. This.

This phone is actually gonna, be a competitor to the OnePlus and some of those other phones in this price range I think this is priced in that same price range, I'm not going to quote lower prices yet because I'm not quite sure what that is, but I think it's in the same price range as an OnePlus in that area. This thing is also rocking an adrenal 640 GPU and you can get this in 6, gigs or 8 gigs of RAM I. Believe our demo unit here is a 6 gig, 6 gigs of ram with 128 gigs of storage. You can get the 8 gig with 128 8 gigs of ram with 128 gigs of storage, or you can get an 8 gig with 256 gigs of ram, but that's where the Chinese market. Only this all other markets will only be able to get the 6 128 or the 8 128, and we already talked about the camera on the back, which is a forty-eight megapixels, but it is a Sony IMF 586 sensor, and it does have Poe is onboard.

The camera also has an F 1.7 aperture. So that's a big deal. Afters are becoming a big deal on mobile cameras, and that is a big deal here. The secondary camera is an F 12, 2.6 aperture 20 megapixel camera, and it is a Sony IMF 350. As far as the front camera, that is also a 20 megapixel camera, and it has HDR portrait bulk, both mode III face recognition, all the things that a lot of these phones are starting to come out with Beauty enhancement, mode, adaptive, Beauty technology, Alex kind of stuff.

And, interestingly enough here we have a 6 6 LED ring flashlight, but yeah guys that is they the maze 16s. This is the new flagship from a zoo holding it in the hand. It feels really nice I, like the screen size, I love the bezels, I love that there's no notch. I love that the bezels on the chin and the forehead are both very slim. So that is super nice to have, so I mean this is really what I think most of us want to see our other flight ship phones look like all.

The other brands need to take a little page out of Mizzou's playbook here. Those bezels on the top and bottom are super slim and the ones on the sides are just awesomely. Slim I could live with this phone. I. Think I think this could actually be a daily driver for me, love the glass back, I love everything that does not have wireless charging, but you know it is also it's maze flagship phone, but it's also not a thousand dollar phone, so yeah, that is the maze 16 s.

Let's take a quick look around again all aluminum build. There's your volume rocker power button, I love that power button volume rocker on the right side here, so I can access them just at the same time. Here not a big fan of other phones that have the volume rocker over here on the left, I just love having it and once both of them on one spot. So the color, this carbon fiber black, is just amazing loved. Look, it's very beautiful, so yeah, that is the 16s.
